  1. I've heard the earlier Burton Batman craze was even nuttier. Is this true?
  2. that's upcoming too. I know all the hoarders of Darkhawk Annual 2 Newsstand come here. Those basterds. Whatcha talking about? Who in their right mind hoards Darkhawk? Psychos. That's who. That reminds me, I recently reached and exceeded a personal Darkhawk milestone that requires a group shot.
  3. Here's the coupon from #2. Do you want me to take pictures of the others?
  4. If that does happen, and I believe it's very possible, don't you think these book settle in at a value higher than they were pre-hype?
  5. that's upcoming too. I know all the hoarders of Darkhawk Annual 2 Newsstand come here. Those basterds. Good luck! I sent you a PM that might be helpful too.
  6. You should use the WTB section for this instead of here, Revat.
  7. Thanks. I clicked on this link numerous times recently from the main page thinking I might be able to score some sweet Ditko Charltons.
  8. I think it is tremendously encouraging that you have reached out to everyone, Jop. I believe I further explained why my criticisms were so harsh here via private message. Your response along with your original message there were kind, understanding, thoughtful and sincerely apologetic. This is good!
  9. It was my pleasure to step up too and I don't want anything nor would I accept anything for doing that. I don't think people should do business with him until he makes things right with everyone. It does look like Jop is reaching out to those involved, that is a very positive sign.
  10. And here is some commentary on his recent Pay It Forward offer: Apologies to Ditch and Chris if they didn't want me posting their PIF discussion comments here. Jop lives to swindle boardies and I hope you consider adding him to your own personal list. I'm mortified by it!! not really. Good! I would hate to draw your negative attention. I can see it now...
  11. A lot of people wanted him on that or the HOS list, but his screw jobs didn't take place in the sales forum area so...
  12. I know a lot of us have personal lists with the names of boardies not on the PL/HOS who we refuse to deal with. I want to bring up someone who I've seen recently popping numerous :takeit:s Jop And here is some commentary on his recent Pay It Forward offer: Apologies to Ditch and Chris if they didn't want me posting their PIF discussion comments here. 13. Was that the Burnham Bowl show where John Hauser and others would set up? Sweet books btw. Sucks about the trimmed one.
  14. Another wonderful set of books received from Mike. Thanks again!
  15. A great seller across the board. Thank you! -Ryan
  16. I want to personally thank the person who bought the My Greatest Adventure 80 7.5w slab in the last comiclink auction. Twin Cities ped, sure, but holy mackerel at the hammer price. That's a nice ROI for the person who bought it in the original HA auction back in '11 You're welcome! I've had trouble finding the book (its been in my WTB thread for months). Its a tough key to find in HG, especially right now, and White pages to boot. On top of that, I had a few little books that sold in the auction that I didn't have much into so even at the price I paid, I was still happy to have it. And there was another person that bid it up to the same amount. But since that was my high bid first, mine stuck. I also picked up a lower graded copy a few months ago that's at CGC that I may use to offset the cost even more. If anyone has any other copies in higher grade, please PM me (or any other books in my WTB thread)! As a person with more than a vested interest in the title, I've noticed MGA 80 prices have been on the rise as of late so it's not as though you are an extreme outlier here (thumbs u Actually, I thought that Twin Cities pedigree went for a reasonable price. I think I'm the bidder that stopped at that last bid.I had just picked up a nice 7.0 recently,so I was only bidding for the upgrade. That is the only reason I didn't bid again. Twin Cities books are so nice. They are. Top shelf colors and practically dripping with cover gloss.
  17. I feel like Beachbum perfectly summarized my feelings on the Hot Topic variant over in Comics General.
  18. I remembered. And No, I have not been able to find a copy.
  19. Don't be down on Marvel Age. There are early Black Costume Covers, a Thanos Quest preview, fan Infinity Gauntlet preview, 2nd Darkhawk and second Darkhawk cover appearances amongst many other great books to collect. Dont forget Marvel Age #6 Beta Ray Bill and Marvel Age 25 Rocket .. I dont know about you.. I like making money and these books are selling. I could care 2 if its a 1st second or none... It sells im in You also don't give 2 about listing them accurately on ebay because you are one of the sellers who intentionally deceives buyers by listing them as "true" 1st appearances. As long as you're making money!
  20. It's silly to me as well, but paying a premium for a newsstand copy of a comic or a Whitman logo DC is also equally silly. However, collector preferences do and will change from time to time. Yeah, I agree. Those are niche markets variants of a sort. Great fun to collect as a set or necessary buys for hardcore completionists. However, what we're seeing with the influx of attention towards the Marvel Age/Previews appearances is on another wavelength. We're talking about completely redefining the 1st appearance "guidelines" to include early solicitations as a genuine 1st appearance. That is insane.
  21. I was just looking at the Darkhawk Wikipedia page to see if they mention Marvel Age #97. They do. They list it as his first appearance. Darkhawk doesn't even appear in the 5 page preview contained in Marvel Age #97. He obviously does appear on the cover. Previews/Marvel Age are not the first appearance of anything. This is silly.
  22. This movie is less than 6 months away. Am I the only one concerned by the lack of marketing and merchandising tie-ins being put forth?
