  1. Thanks, dude! You'll find a copy, they pop up from time to time.
  2. Nice! Is that the copy we spoke of via PM? Post a pic if you have one handy. Yes!! That's the one I thought was a 9.8 raw. That is a beauty! Dead perfect centering to boot!
  3. Thanks guys! I used the "buy every copy I can find and try to get lucky" technique. For as few copies as I was able to locate, I really was lucky to find one this nice. Nice! Is that the copy we spoke of via PM? Post a pic if you have one handy.
  4. Your argument makes me think of the earlier Winnipeg's, I have the right pedigree, yes? If I understand it correctly the pre 1965 issues in the collection all had a name written in ink across the top, but are otherwise high grade copies, and graded as such by CGC? Personally, I would be fine with any and all incomplete books being a straight Blue label .5 I am guessing that the option of a Green Label qualified grade is because the market has shown that some collectors care less about incompletes, or at least discriminate still about grades even when incomplete. That's the Winnipeg pedigree. (thumbs u
  5. I've been looking for one of these in this condition for years. The hardest to find Darkhawk book and crazy tough in HG. Darkhawk #5 2nd printing (J.C. Penney reprint). Back cover in spoilers
  6. Yeah, nobody is going to bully him into accepting the $35 price. The seller should be given a pass. He needs to make his threads more clear in the future.
  7. That's class! Again, thanks for being so receptive to the critiques here and in PM's.
  8. There are similarities. This thread is a valuable resource for shared information and the discussions that place here are not always used as a tarring and feathering exercise. As good sellers move out of here and others move in, I feel like I'm watching the quality gap between the two shrink. I can't be the only one, can I?
  9. I know and it's not a risk scenario. It only hurts the seller. He's new, he'll learn and it doesn't require regulation. It reminds me of "ebay 2.0" comments as it's a half a step away from "CGC it" and our marketplace should be better than that.
  10. So this is about a guy saying his $20 books could be $30 books after a press? Pretty much. Stress on the "could" part because the press potential is often accompanied by a series of question marks and uncertainty. He makes it pretty clear that he doesn't know what he's talking about (and the books agree), therefore, it's clearly irresponsible to advocate pressing as a sales tactic.
  11. This has to be the thread that caused this conversation. I'm fine with a seller who knows what they're talking about using "could press to" selling tactics as long as they use it infrequently, accurately and for books where pressing actually makes sense. This is not the case here.
  12. ASM 238 was not $10 in grade. That was a fast seller at $30. ASM 252 was closer to $8-15 in grade. The rest I agree on.
  13. The bolded part is fine. It's done all the time here. Maybe include a group shot.
  14. I'm really interested in what G.A.tor has to say now that there are pictures. That figure might be worth a TON of money.
  15. You paid $50 shipped on the #19, and what for the #6? You're going to be hard pressed finding 9.8 slabs you actually want for only $50. That's a very fair price.
  16. You got me thinking, just maybe..... Should I drink the Kool Aid?
  17. That's what I thought too No SCS,or any damage.Just an unpressed square bound book. Do you have a higher res scan of this book? Front and back? If we're guessing, my money's on a small stain on either the front or back. No stain. No notes, right? I've seen some really HG looking squarebounds where the cover slightly separates from the interior spine glue or the glue wasn't even there in the first place. No idea how CGC handles that but I guess it could be the case here. Who knows, never got the notes. I was just happy to have a high grade copy of my favorite X book. That's cool. It presents like a champ too. You should get it pressed and regraded. My entire CGC buying experience is built on finding undergraded books. Not necessarily for the CPR, but sometimes it happens.

  19. Correct. Highly ironic that Beige, of all people, should be taking any issues with a seller "manipulating" GPA results. Yup. Thank god he's here to protect us from "marketplace shenanigans" now.
  20. here's a great hustrucked story ... a guy on IG put up a post "for sale nm98, nm89, GSX1, asm300 need money to pay for a surgery for my dog" hustruck low balled him for all the books... the guy said no... hustruck then went on his feed and hit "claimed" so everyone else backed off... he then. (hustruck this is) put up a post about how this guys a scam, I hope his dog dies, no one deal with him. I reached out to the guy as there's always 2 sides to a story... the guy said hustruck was trying to low ball him and he told him repeatedly NO... I then bought all his books in at a great price and hustruck bombed me with messages DEMANDING I sell them for what I paid ??? he's legit nutzo (you can see the dialog in my "shame" post on IG ... was very funny but just thought the story was so much like Harvey I had to post it Wow. That's just something else... Why would you agree to purchase anything from him after that, let alone a four figure book?
  21. Are you honestly interested in any answer he gives? The guy's textbook repeat shady offender, and he seems to be escalating. I say HoS poll and let's have done with it. It doesn't need instigating. He'll tell his side of the "story" without prompting. It will not answer any of the questions he was asked, but it will be rife with overly personal and unnecessary details/excuses. Let's vote on it.
  22. If Hustruck doesn't belong in the HOS, then who does? As others have pointed out, he's a habitual liar and scammer. He will literally do and say anything in his attempts to pry our books and money from us. And he keeps coming back because we let him back. This is exactly the type of person that the HOS is designed to protect us from.
  23. I just started playing Skyrim for the first time! There goes all of my free time!
  24. Very easy to work with seller that was A+ in arranging a friendly time payment agreement. Everything was great. Will buy from again. Thank you Dan! -Ryan
