  1. I exited a couple of years ago when I sold my last copy. My focus has switched back to GA Bats and Tecs now so I will not likely get another copy for a bit, unfortunately. It is still a favorite SA DC book of mine, but GA Bats and Tecs are so damn expensive now
  2. Nothing new here. Look at how Marvel flooded the market with the Star Wars AF and other variants a year or so ago. If you ask your LCS owner, they probably have a bunch of these in the back as well. I know at least one LCS in town that pulls them out on a regular basis a year or two later to fill their $5 variant boxes.
  3. Went to the movie with my wife and kids today. Awesome film. This is the best comic movie from either studio since the first GotG. I don't know what the fuss is re: the battle with Ares, it was fine and fit well with the whole coming out/understanding her power angle. My wife and daughter are still pissed that they killed off who they did at the end. Gal Gadot is an amazing fit for the role. I hope DC has her signed up for the next decade as WW.
  4. Thanks. The spine wear, rusty (and pulled) staple, and staining were an issue for me.
  5. No clue. I looked at it when it was first listed as I am looking for a nice mid grade SC 22 right now but passed as it presented worse than the grade to me.
  6. Exactly. The CC copy looked a bit overgraded.
  7. Not all copies are equal in eye appeal either. This was not a very strong copy for a 6.0 IMHO.
  8. It's Sony so the plan is likely to make it up on the fly. Film first and add in voices after.
  9. Looks like CGC is even further behind on Modern subs. Mine was graded last Thursday and is still sitting waiting for encapsulation. 23 business days as of today and likely will not be shipped until closer to 30. 24 books modern Received 5/12/17 Verified somewhere last week of May Graded 6/8/17 Encapsulated - still waiting.
  10. UXM 266 has been an steady seller in 8.0 - 9.2 at $120-150 raw the past year to two at conventions up here. All of my slabbed 9.6s sold for $200 - $250 the past year as well.

    The Mummy

Did you waste money on seeing it? Wait for it for free online instead.
  12. No clue, but hopefully this means one will eventually hit the screen in the next decade. Whether it will be any good is another matter.
  13. Here is another factor to consider re: collections drying up - the children are inheriting and keeping the books. I talked with a collector friends last night about one collection that this is happening to. A LCS owner showed him pictures this weekend of an OO collection that a regular customer has. The OO's son brought some into to the store to show the owner and to get new supplies for rebagging them. He will inherit the books and plans on keeping them since he is collecting now. I heard the same story from my wife's friend who is a partner at an accounting firm. One of the other partners caught the collecting bug from his dad and will inherit his GA and SA collection (mostly Timely and Marvel). In both cases the parent and children do not need the $$$ so they are going to just hold onto the books.
  14. Here is the dead link to a great collection out of LA that I bought a bunch of books from in the early to mid 00s: http://www.reocities.com/legalprocess3/books.htm The owner, Jerry Berger, was friends with Paul Levitz and as mentioned on the site, Paul used to grab books for him while he was in college. The 1965-1976 books were in great shape, with most of the books I submitted to CGC grading 9.4 or 9.6 unpressed. There were multiple copies of some of the books (e.g. 9.4 and 9.6 for the two ASM 129s), and they all had minor storage/handling dings that would be pressed out now for 9.8s. The pre-1965 books were hit and miss (as well as the GA) grade wise as they were more well read, but there were a lot of 9.0+ books as well. Jerry did have an AF 15 and ASM 1-50 run that sold to someone else before I stumbled upon the site, as well as a bunch of OA that sold earlier.
  15. We will not be taking the kids until this weekend for a matinee after soccer. I am curious to see how full the theatre will be.
  16. I may not be able to get all 6 tables if we skip June. If it is only 3, then Dave is the odd man out. Just kidding, Dave.
  17. Yeah, but don't do June show means losing our spot for future shows. I consider it a loss leader for the early spring and fall shows where you do a couple or more thousand in sales (which is nice for a 6 hour show).
  18. There are plenty of late 60s and 70s books that fit this bill as well. In low to mid grades it is so common that there is no demand at anything more than $1 per book. Even then, a lot of it sits. This is why I have pulled back on my chasing of collections the past year - I had accumulated way too many longs of stuff. While Dave's wife allows him to store 200+ boxes in his basement, mine is not as forgiving. That being said, even HG mid to late 60s common books are tough to sell at full guide now that there are fewer run collectors chasing them. If it is not 9.4+ quality, there is little demand for most titles even though they are great looking VF to VF/NM books.
  19. It was the worst show I have had in 4 or 5 years. I sold one box of primarily Savage Sword of Conans at $1 apiece (including mid grade earlier issues between #6 - #30), and then maybe 1/4 of a box of $1 low to mid grade late 60s and 70s Marvels and DCs. The Dell/Charlton/Gold Key/Archie $1 books did not move at all. I thought I would sell more of the $1 books, but it just goes to show how little demand there is for even quality common $1 books. This was also the first show in I can't remember how long that none of us sold a slabbed book.
  20. At the end of the row? That might have been Steve and Cody then. They will likely have more next show.
  21. Wow. Nice haul. Did you get a bunch from Dave's/Karl's $0.25 bins?
  22. I have been waiting for this book to get a bit of heat. Every time I see one for cheap I pick it up.
  23. Why? Ten years from now when everything will be available digitally there is less need for common floppy issues that take up space.
