  1. Right now it looks like it will pay off to pick up multiples of any BA or CA 1st appearance that has not popped yet, wait for a bit, and no matter how lame a character may be it will take off.
  2. Sweet! I have a copy of #92 and a few of the other issues in a collection from last summer. Time to pull them out of the "dollar boxes" pile.
  3. I'm always mystified at how lazy an LCS is when it comes to staying on top of books that start catching fire. I know it's difficult but that's why I'll always set higher prices on hotter books or keys to help leverage against overnight spikes in price. Hit another LCS and landed #49 (x2), #50 (x2), #52 (Cdn Newsstand variant), #53 (Cdn newsstand variant) for $3 - $4 apiece. You and your Canadian newsstand finds. It's like you live in Canada or something... They are actually hard to find at LCSs unless they bring in a Copper collection. Even then, most of the HG books are just direct editions. I just got contacted about two collections from smaller communities that are SA/BA/CA and should be full of them if all goes well.
  4. The collected edition for that is impossible to find. Does it still sell for good $$$? A few years back when the Valiants first spiked (2001-2003) I found 10-12 of them here locally. Once LCS would not sell any more to me, though, as I kept buying every copy they put out.
  5. I already do that on keys/1st apps/hot books priced $100 or more. The regular discount they give and current exchange rate would give me an 25% - 35% break at the till relative to eBay regardless. The only problem is that they do not come across those books as often as I would like them to..........

  7. The first Predator movie is an all-time classic IMHO. It was awesome watching it as a kid and I still watch it whenever it is on. I do not have a DVD/BlueRay yet, sadly.
  8. I can see Predator #1 popping since Aliens #1 has already had its first gap up. There will be a lot of late 80s/early 90s 1st apps and #1s starting to pop over the next couple of years as they hit the 25-30 year mark.......
  9. NM98 was a 6-8$ book into its first few years mainly because of Domino speculation It hit the $20 mark in the late 90s if I recall correctly.......
  10. Wow. According to GPA this 9.6 Bone #1 sold for $2350 this month. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bone-1-Jeff-Smith-1st-Print-CGC-9-6-WHITE-pages-/291285244252?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item43d1f4195c Looks like it is starting to float up along with all of the other Copper and Modern keys or 1st apps that are popping.
  11. I still have a couple of copies left so now might be a good time to test the waters with one. Nowhere Men was a great spec play when it came out.
  12. Let's get this back on target. What Coppers are hot today? I snagged a few Moore Swampy's last night for $4 apiece from my LCS - #49 (x2), #50, #52, #53.
  13. I wonder if this issue has seen a spike with the Flash TV show airing this fall? Classic issue featuring the "death" of Iris - she is killed by the Reverse Flash.
  14. Marvel has a book out called Wolverines tomorrow as well?
  15. Yes! Those 20 long boxes of #1s I received for Christmas may be worthwhile after all.
  16. I thought I read somewhere that the cat suit was supposed to be zipped up on the cover. Then some genius (and I really mean that) must have said (hypothetical quote): "No Mr. Adam Hughes, we human beings must enjoy some Adam Hughes Catwoman cleavage. In a picture frame. Just like cleavage was meant to be seen. And she must look like Audrey Hepburn." Or something like that. He does a backside shot on the cover of Catwoman 81 so he is not just cleavage.
  17. Depending on what the shipping backlog at CGC is like, I might have another ASM #300 (9.6) back for Christmas......... Here it is. I received it on December 24th just before the family Christmas Eve dinner - I was surprised that Fedex was doing deliveries that late.
  18. Real fans already have it (thumbs u That's not true. That's like saying real Batman fans have Detective 27. At the least they should have the New 52 Tec 27 reprint freebie from last year.......
  19. AH had some nice Zatana covers as well - the series did not last very long, though.
  20. If you want a fun mainstream read and like seeing long held characters torn down a bit, check out the Sins of the Past arc in ASM #508-515. It is great fun if you are not a diehard Spidey fanboy. (thumbs u
  21. Its actually seen a bit of a decline for awhile now More than a bit of a decline. It used to sell for double the price these recent sales fetched.
  22. I agree, I'm glad I picked up the run when I did, it seemed like they just dried up one day and started creeping up in price. If one run deserved to have attention brought to it, it's swamp thing. +1 Looks like it's time to hit the LCSs with them to grab some multiple keys.
  23. No right now, sorry. No worries. I have a few copies already but that is a book I always buy when I see them (CDN newsstand or regular direct editions).
