  1. Were you responding to my post? We have been getting $40-$60 or more for raw #361s for a few years now (three years ago it was $40, last year $50 - $60). That being said, I stickered my CGC 9.6 newsstand #361 at $250 last spring and it sold fast, then put up my CGC 9.6 #362 for $150 and it sold fast as well at the same show. Were those in Canuck dollars? If those sales were priced in US dollars you did really well indeed. Exchange rate at the time was about 8%. Remember, we were also getting $40+ for them not that long ago when they were $15 books on eBay and the $CDN was at par or above the $US as well.
  2. Some of the prices I see at conventions just blow me away. Its like some dealers think they are the only way to get books anymore. Or they haven't a clue for the close to the going price for a book. That being said plenty of sellers here get top dollar for their books on ebay. I guess it all depends on what top dollar means because I know my view is different from others. It depends on how strong your local market is as well as a seller. Here we are fortunate that there are a lot of young collectors with good jobs and decent disposable income. There are also a lot of speculators that are looking for keys only.

  4. Can't find that book out in the wild at all, I've found the 49 but not the the 50 Sweet. I picked up a run of #37 until the end a couple of months back and was not aware that any other issues were worth more than a few dollars.
  5. Very nice! I am sending in a couple of copies of this book shortly that I hope will land me a 9.8 as well.
  6. Here is what the other 9.0 looks like....... Did you have to mention it on the invoice? I have a 21 and 25 that I'm sending in soon. It was mentioned on both invoices, but they only labelled the larger group of Canadian newsstand variants as such.
  7. The only thing I do not like about the BA Mad Love is the ink rubbing by the staples. I know it is a production defect, but it bugs me enough to almost look at moving it now.
  8. Received another Canadian Newsstand Swamp Thing #37 back from CGC this week.
  9. 1st comic appearance of Isis. It is a 1st appearance tied to Shazam which means speculation should hit it sooner or later as well just like every other potential movie tied comic property nowadays........
  10. Just received my BA Ann 1 and Mad Love from CGC. They make nice book ends for the BA #12 from that collection:
  11. None of the books you mentioned had anything other than average print runs. That's why they are so expensive, while Spiderman #1, for example, is not. X-Force #2 had an average print run for its time period as well........ I think his point was that despite ample supply books will still run up in value. I have to agree with that. This logic is the reason I passed on the best OO copies of Hulk #181 a seller had at his table at a small Calgary show in 2002 or 2003. He was asking full Guide for a very common Bronze Age book. A little while after the show he submitted the books to CGC - the two copies I was looking at came back as 9.6 and 9.4 unpressed.
  12. Here are two Shazam books that are hot/should heat up:
  13. Christmas Eve presents from Sarasota (the Copper books from this submission are posted in that thread):
  14. This is the only big SA Batvillain first I am currently missing in nice shape and is on the hit list for 2015.
  15. Hopefully a bit longer. I just snagged Legends #1, 3, 6 and DC Presents #49 for $1.50 apiece yesterday - the Legends #1 and #3 are CDN newsstand copies as well.
  16. Here is a quick update for my holdings. I sold my 9.0 but just got another 9.6 back from CGC.
  17. Really? 40,000 posts in 10 years = 4,000 posts a year = 11 or so posts a day. Not all that much free time required. If you just use emoticons it is easy to do 11 posts a minute. That's what greggy does No need to name names.......
  18. Like a real hockey team? We have at least one in Edmonton...................my son's Atom team. If you are talking a real NHL team, we have not had one since 2008 in these parts.
  19. Like what, Ryan? If you have to ask..........
  20. If that ship hasn't sailed yet, it's at least pulled anchor... probably could still find a good deal out in the wild though! Picked up a decent mid grade copy for $1.25 last week.

  22. Why waste your time looking for comics in Montreal when it has so much more to offer?
  23. Wow. Definitely hadn't heard of that one... I have been wondering if these books will ever take off. There are some cool late run WWT issues.
