  1. On the flip side, as the small study showed, it does help to restore the suppleness of the paper (can't remember how/why) so the books should look pretty for longer.
  2. Still on the book, but going digital. 2015 or 2016?
  3. It is a trend that has been discussed quite a bit over the past few years. The best time to submit books is during convention season if you want gift grades as the volume of books means they have to try to rush through more at once. It is like any other business: higher volume = more errors/defects.
  4. That is my thought, but it looks like the bidder only has 1% of their activity with this seller so it could very well be legit. That being said, sooner or later this book will move up decently along with the rest of the lesser Copper #1s/keys.
  5. I have started doing the opposite - keep the keys, make money back from commons at the spring or fall con season (depending on when you buy the books) and then selling the remainder to LCSs. My goal is to get funds back within 6 months while retaining the best books/keys as they continue to increase in value. I used to take the sell the keys and try to max out profits from the rest approach, but since keys/high demand books outpace other books in value growth it does not make sense. This works well with auction lots from Heritage, Clink or other venues also.
  6. Both are easy to find IMHO, but in high grade it is a bit tougher. I am putting together a stack from the last collection I purchased for a FS thread. It is mostly Marvel and it looks like there will be a long box or two of them.
  7. I have never understood this view. Most collectors consider the key BA era to be 1970-1975, as this is the period that all of the big books are from. Ask them when the BA ended, and they will say 1979/1980. The only theory that is a bit out there that I could see is the view that Star Wars #1 was the start of the CA. It is a bit early, but I can understand the thought process behind it. New Teen Titans #1 and DD #168 are likely the most approrpiate starting points for the DC and Marvel Copper Ages respectively. FWIW, how fast will those dealers start to change their "late Bronze" to "early Copper" stance now that Copper is heating up?
  8. Nice. I have a few of these sitting someplace......
  9. You know that Copper Age is hot when............... http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7550394#Post7550394
  10. ASM #252 and #238 are Copper not Bronze..... Looks like I will have to add the copy of Eternals #1 I was waffling on to my next submission. It has 9.6/9.8 potential.
  11. Same here. I made decent coin selling off multiples last year before the bubble burst, but since this lot sold so fast I was wondering if something is up with the title?
  12. I just had a BIN popped on a Revival 1st print lot today. Is it starting to heat up again? http://www.ebay.com/itm/281288788202?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1559.l2649
  13. Green Arrow #101 is still going for good coin on eBay...... http://www.ebay.com/sch/Comics-/63/i.html?_from=R40&LH_Complete=1&_nkw=green+arrow+101
  14. Thanks. Got it as well in the CDN newstand variant I think. If not, it should not be difficult to find out here. Most collections I pick up have most/all of the newsstand price variants in the respective runs.
  15. Nice. Then the CDN Newstand edition is the one to have. (thumbs u
  16. What is the first appearance of Booster Gold? Also, DC Presents #26 is the first Cyborg, right? Sorry, I can't find my stupid OSPG after I started cleaning the comic room/office last weekend.
  17. Is Booster Gold a $25+ book online? Nice. I can pick them up here for just a couple of bucks still.
  18. The problem with the boards is that we are usually looking to buy less expensive SA/BA/CA/Modern keys to resell instead of keep.
  19. I sold my spare raw BA #12 in 9.2 for $220 at a small local show in late Feb - it is definitely a hot book right now.
  20. those have been getting those prices for quite awhile now, but one i never see mentioned much is asm 601. that book is starting to sell over 30 pretty regularly now too, but it never gets as much attention as all the black cat covers for some reason. it is reaching iconic cover status imo, and only getting more popular, you see tons of cosplayers recreating that cover now. I snag them whenever one of the LCSs puts them in the bins. It is nice that they usually price #606 and #607 higher than #601 as well.
  21. Send me a PM with your want list. I have a few long boxes of 50% off SA and BA books that I take to shows. mess, I'd love to get even 30% of guide on those same books your talking about. I will have every title on 50% off, including ASM, Batman, X-Men, etc. If it is common and does not sell withing 6-12 months I blow it out........
  22. I don't mean to offend anyone if it is their book, but top right corner crease or SSS damage, plus a color breaking crease mid spine - how does that still get 9.6? Checking out some of the other copies on eBay, I should resub my current 9.2 as it will likely be a 9.4.......
