  1. It is funny, but I find stores to be relatively poorly stocked wrt true NM- or better CA books. Sure, they have a ton of VFs, but years of being stuff in long boxes in the back with or without bags has made a lot of the Copper books I see VF/NM at best. Looking at collections, the early CA stuff tends to be in worse shape than the late 80s/early 90s books as well.
  2. Cloak & Dagger have SUCH tremendous potential.... I can see Dagger cosplay going the way of Harley, Black Cat, Zatanna, or Catwoman at cons.
  3. I wonder when Marvel will add Cloak and Dagger to a movie/tv series? I liked the duo in the 80s.
  4. This one is mine. I have been selling 5th print #1s for $12.99 on BINs the past bit so I am hoping the 2nd print goes for more than this in the end.
  5. Will that speed things up at all? It would be nice to have a second arc before Christmas as I still have some leftover books to sell. I am still pleasantly surprised at how much this title still brings on eBay even though it may be done.
  6. These are the best people to have at cons. I sold a pile of low grade slow moving Marvel commons at the Calgary Expo form a new collection due to Stan Lee signing at the show. We were the first comic booth coming out of the Guests hall, so we put out Stan Lee drek piles and moved them fast. It was great. The smarter people asked which books would be best so I told them, but the others just grabbed fugly copies, handed me the money and ran.
  7. On the flip side, as the small study showed, it does help to restore the suppleness of the paper (can't remember how/why) so the books should look pretty for longer.
  8. Still on the book, but going digital. 2015 or 2016?
  9. It is a trend that has been discussed quite a bit over the past few years. The best time to submit books is during convention season if you want gift grades as the volume of books means they have to try to rush through more at once. It is like any other business: higher volume = more errors/defects.
  10. That is my thought, but it looks like the bidder only has 1% of their activity with this seller so it could very well be legit. That being said, sooner or later this book will move up decently along with the rest of the lesser Copper #1s/keys.
  11. I have started doing the opposite - keep the keys, make money back from commons at the spring or fall con season (depending on when you buy the books) and then selling the remainder to LCSs. My goal is to get funds back within 6 months while retaining the best books/keys as they continue to increase in value. I used to take the sell the keys and try to max out profits from the rest approach, but since keys/high demand books outpace other books in value growth it does not make sense. This works well with auction lots from Heritage, Clink or other venues also.
  12. Both are easy to find IMHO, but in high grade it is a bit tougher. I am putting together a stack from the last collection I purchased for a FS thread. It is mostly Marvel and it looks like there will be a long box or two of them.
  13. I have never understood this view. Most collectors consider the key BA era to be 1970-1975, as this is the period that all of the big books are from. Ask them when the BA ended, and they will say 1979/1980. The only theory that is a bit out there that I could see is the view that Star Wars #1 was the start of the CA. It is a bit early, but I can understand the thought process behind it. New Teen Titans #1 and DD #168 are likely the most approrpiate starting points for the DC and Marvel Copper Ages respectively. FWIW, how fast will those dealers start to change their "late Bronze" to "early Copper" stance now that Copper is heating up?
  14. Nice. I have a few of these sitting someplace......
  15. You know that Copper Age is hot when............... http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7550394#Post7550394
  16. ASM #252 and #238 are Copper not Bronze..... Looks like I will have to add the copy of Eternals #1 I was waffling on to my next submission. It has 9.6/9.8 potential.
  17. Same here. I made decent coin selling off multiples last year before the bubble burst, but since this lot sold so fast I was wondering if something is up with the title?
  18. I just had a BIN popped on a Revival 1st print lot today. Is it starting to heat up again? http://www.ebay.com/itm/281288788202?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1559.l2649
  19. Green Arrow #101 is still going for good coin on eBay...... http://www.ebay.com/sch/Comics-/63/i.html?_from=R40&LH_Complete=1&_nkw=green+arrow+101
  20. Thanks. Got it as well in the CDN newstand variant I think. If not, it should not be difficult to find out here. Most collections I pick up have most/all of the newsstand price variants in the respective runs.
  21. Nice. Then the CDN Newstand edition is the one to have. (thumbs u
  22. What is the first appearance of Booster Gold? Also, DC Presents #26 is the first Cyborg, right? Sorry, I can't find my stupid OSPG after I started cleaning the comic room/office last weekend.
