  1. Holy ! That is a hefty price for a 4.0 - 5.0 book. I bet that when the buyer gets this book in hand he does this:
  2. Will look great with my 23 7.5. Congrats on adding another one to the hoard of the best DC SA book by a longshot.
  3. If it ends in the $11,000s, then it is likely a case of the bidders chasing the book, not the label. (thumbs u
  4. Well, isn't he called Olive Lantern? structurally the book looks nice, but that "olive" green ...nothing personal (I diss on my own books too!), but man o man I wouldn't want that copy Agreed on the olive color. I think one of my previous 4.0s had the same issue. Structurally, a very nice book, but I even had people up here ask what the difference was between it and the color on my lowly 2.5.
  5. Better do it now before the prices really take off next spring prior to the movie.
  6. with that fading, I would have a hard time calling it higher I was wondering if it was faded or the scan was not leveled correctly Looks like fading to me as well.
  7. Hard to tell from the pics, but based on the color showing on your copy it might have some fading. That will probably get hit hard by CGC. The crease/tear middle bottom edge on the front cover will be an issue as well. Also, if it has any stains/smudges they will be harsher than PGX/CGG.
  8. this is the CGC boards, not that other company...no need to post that pic here now, crack it and submit it to the authority on grading, and it would be a pleasure to see it here (thumbs u AND..........as a warning, don't expect the same grade.
  9. Does that mean you are a member of the club now?
  10. Looks like SC #22 is starting to take off again..........
  11. That is my thought as well, maybe a 6.5 on a generous day.
  12. I don't mean to offend the owner if he is here, but how the heck did that book get a 7.5 with all of that creasing in the bottom right corner? Add in the soft upper corners, creases and light surface rubbing along the spine, what appears to be light surface wear/smudging on the middle of the right edge, and that looks like an aggressive grade to me.
  13. Not really, just nicer than the last one, and at a decent price. (thumbs u
  14. Back on topic, I will be a member of the club again.
  15. Nice book and thanks for sharing! (thumbs u
  16. Not sure, but the small collection that had the top SC #4 stopped before the really big book, SC #22.
  17. Which pedigree is it from? We would love to see it. (thumbs u
  18. RoboJ was switching books as well? How easy is it to do that?
  19. No, I didn't snag it. That was an interesting copy and priced right. I was a bit worried it may be restored (micro trimmed). I personally think it would probably grade around a 4.0-4.5, I had it pegged as a 4.0, possibly a bit lower depending on the back cover, but the Comic Connect customer service got back to me and said that the book was unrestored. I figured that if I could get it with an offer in the $1200 - $1300 range it would have been worth it.
  20. Did anyone here snag the Showcase #22 the seller graded as VG/FN (looked a bit weaker) on Comic Connect on the weekend? The ask price was $1500, and in the time they took in getting back to me re: resto (it was apparently unrestored) it sold.
  21. Very unique item. I've been contemplating a while back for the one that's been on Ebay but didn't snatch it. As I re-called, it didn't have the full reprint of SC22 right? Correct. The GL story is the "Menace of the Runaway Missile" . No "SOS Green Lantern", no "Flaming Spear". It was just awful back in the day. What was the average punter to make of this new character "Green Lantern"? Just springs into existence, fully formed with no back story whatsoever. Very confusing. Well...............at least it does not have a giant puppet on the cover.
  22. But the corn will help your digestive system to cover for that.
