wait what? MCS will submit things to CGC for you? How does that work? I wasn't aware that was a thing?
You can ask Este or anyone in consignment to submit your comics for grading and consignment upon return. You get the MCS grading discount and I think they charge a handling fee of $5 per comic.

How often do the books come back from CGC with grades higher than MCS gave those same books? Would you say they varied more for certain grade ranges?
Due to MCS' conservative grading and the additional factor of CGC grading only being requested when I feel they have really missed the boat, I would say the comics came back with higher grades 100% of the time. I think MCS is a lot tougher on higher grade books and lower grade books. Books in the middle grades (5.0 - 6.0) I find their grading to be more accurate.
Also, I often send raw comics I plan to slab and sell to MCS (with a note to have them graded) instead of submitting them myself!

Yes.
Suffice to say, I won't send raws to MCS again.
If you disagree with the MCS grades you always have the option to have MCS send them for CGC grading and consignment upon return. I often do this with raws where grading makes sense.

I think the Heritage grade seems rather generous...
I believe that is the general consensus on ALL Heritage raw grades!

Well, you really never know the extent of what's happened to a book until you thoroughly examine it.
In this case, I'd be wondering how extensive the water damage is. With this much damage, it very likely affected some (or all) of the pages as well. I'd also be concerned about the possibility of mold, and there does appear to be some color loss associated with the water damage---yet another factor to consider.
And it's really tough to arrive at a grade without actually seeing the entire book...
I found the scan from the original Heritage sale (not where I acquired the comic). They graded it as VG/FN.

This looks like a textbook example of fairly severe water damage. Is there some reason you suspect a tear seal as well?
I just wanted to make sure it looked to others like water damage and not some kind of sealant. I was worried that large ripple where the color break is on the right edge might be a tear that had been "expertly" sealed. With this type of water damage I am guessing the highest grade would be in the 4.0 range?

I never even noticed that tear on the Avengers cover.
Big thanks to Mike and everyone else who helps out with these contests!

You'd think that'd be the trick, but all it shows are my auction sales (even though I'm in 'Exchange Selling'.
Mine showed all auction and exchange sales combined.

I'm finally going to admit defeat and ask for help. I've been trying (with no luck) to find a list of all my previous sales off the Exchange. I can only find a list of previous sales from auctions. Can someone help me out?

This was my first time using them and honestly didn't see the shipping...seems worse for me being in Canada. I'm paying 30% of my total order just for shipping (and I swear, if I get hit with additional duties/import fees after this I'll have to avoid using them again just on account of shipping costs if I'm only buying cheaper items - expensive big stuff this is fine for obviously, but not batches of little books)
$70.00 for up to two (2) books plus $14.00 for each additional two (2) books to Canada;
Compared to Comiclink and Heritage, $70 to Canada is a deal. IMHO the only "auction" house with reasonable shipping rates to Canada is MCS. I think a slab is about $20.

Probably in the world
I stayed in Lethbridge for a week a few years ago and our hotel was right beside the bridge. It made for some spectacular scenery and photos (the one below is not mine) at sunset. And I did not see any comics there.
