Near Mint lot of 12 Modern Comics -
$60$50I bought these comics from MyComicShop (who graded every one NM) and they have never been out of their MCS bags. Selling as I need to make space! I have made a little spreadsheet below showing each comic and the current sell price for each at MCS (using lower prices in some instances where MCS does not have NM copies available). The total for these 12 comics if purchased from MCS today would be $90+
They can all be yours for $60 + shipping!

I just hate when they have that mildewy "stored in a damp basement" odor.

@Hero Restoration Anything to add? We've seen complaints about your failure to do work but don't think we've seen complaints about the work you're done.
I don't think any work was done and, based on the owner of the comics' post and the graders notes, one could even suspect the comics had been intentionally damaged before submission to CGC.

I hope every collector that submitted books to Heroes has their property returned. I still consider my case unresolved and every other customer who did not receive a refund. A terrible situation for all customers.
I believe you handled this unfortunate situation in the best way - do everything it takes to get your comic back safely in your collection and then go to war with Heroes over the refund you deserve for services not rendered!

How do you know it definitely affected it? I don't think you can know. We'll have to agree to disagree as I don't believe the MC causes this. I've seen many comics like this that have never been near MC, as it's the comic itself that causes it.
There is what I can only describe as a translucent shadow the exact size of the MC paper and a presser I deal with has told me it's a known problem. To be on the safe side I follow the top grading companies' lead and no longer place MC paper between the cover and front page. But that's just my

I don't remember it this way. It doesn't turn the cover transparent, but it appears that way because of the light deflection when books were scanned (not photographed). Books like X men 1 and white covers really showed this. Afaik the MC paper is not harming the book.
I have cracked out comics where the cover was definitely affected by the paper. There is a reason why CGC switched the position of the MC paper to the inside pages, so that it is no longer in contact with the cover, and I am always nervous about buying comics in the really old slabs for just this reason.

I have a two car garage, but its full of stuff. I do not own a comic press. I do own an olive press and a garlic press though.
Some of those older olive presses may work well for pressing comics. May want to put an extra teflon sheet down. And clean the press first.

I shouldn't laugh, but that's fricken funny.
We all laughed pretty hard when the customer told us what he'd received. The shipper was pretty embarrassed and never heard the end of it.

One time Gene Conan sent me a Silver Age DD page in a priority mail box....folded over to fit.
On a completely unrelated to comics note, I used to work at a hydraulics company and one of our customers ordered a custom made hose assembly for his steering system. A new shipper cut the hose into three pieces to get it to fit inside the shipping box and sent it to the customer.
Whats your top 3 all time favourite books under 5$?

These Harvey gems were my introduction to comics at the age of 7 in 1975. I still have my original (well loved) copies of all three of these issues and still remember where I bought them (B&L Market and Pacific Books). I still pick them up if I see them in decent condition (and around $5) on MCS and own all three in CGC 9.4 or better!
