  1. Nice looking copy. You got that one for a steal.
  2. I've picked up two of the three 3-4 years ago and consider myself lucky to find them. I still hold out hope to complete the trinity at some point, but the WW keys have easily moved out of my price range for anything other than real beaters now (and even that is a stretch ) . So I'll have to settle for these two: Please excuse the newton rings on the edges of the Sensation1
  3. Nice!! Thanks everyone for the kind comments. The interior artwork isn't bad either. The disappointing part is that there is no story inside that matches the cover. Not one panel of a Red Cross nurse to be found
  4. Picked up this one recently. The stories are pretty weak, but the cover more than makes up for it.
  5. I was really hoping this one would fly under the radar today. Blackhawk 133 (1st Appearance Lady Blackhawk). My $125 bid got blown out of the water, and the sale seems to support the lone GPA sale of a 7.0 at $478 I'm sure prices are primarily driven by scarcity + 1st appearance demand, but it seems to be heating up for sure. There have been real beaters going for almost $100 recently.
  6. I'd love to find one of these in better condition than the beater I own. Baker 1st Canteen Kate and a cool war cover to boot.
  7. a cool Air Ace cover... And a better Captain Aero
  8. Dang Robot. You've got some nice ones! Those Atlas books are great and I just love those Farrels. They have great colors as well as great cover art!
  9. The War ranking was from "The War Report". Not an official Overstreet ranking, but compiled by some of the genre's top experts. Thanks for the kudos!
  10. I thought I'd revisit this thread since I really enjoy Golden Age era War comics and I feel guilty posting them up in the SA War thread all the time. One of my favorite titles is War Comics / War Stories. I noticed War Comics #1 is the No 2 ranked War book of the Golden Age per the latest Overstreet war guide. 1st comic dedicated to war. I think I provided a group shot of these once, but thought I would share them up individually: (I have larger scans, but just pulling these from my CollectorZ cloud):
  11. That's just...AWESOME! Looks like a great time had by all. Thanks for sharing!
  12. Purchased a very cool and obscure (scarce) book from Dan on the boards recently. Dan was a pleasure to work with, and the books were packed with lots of care. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase with Dan again. Thanks so much!
  13. Congrats for picking up an upgrade to issue 5. I just love the green cover and to grab one in a 5.0 is a great find!
  14. So how is it that GPA has deals in place with ComicConnect and Heritage for their sales data? I can understand why auction houses would want to closely guard/protect their transactional sales data, but they obviously trust GPA enough to provide some kind of permission/feed. I've toyed around with GoCollect and I absolutely like the interface and website flow better than GPA. I guess I always just assumed that not including the auction house sales data was by choice. Jeff, it's a shame that you can't find a way to reach similar agreements that GPA has. Competition drives innovation, I'd think. Good luck with finding a path to bring more sales data to your site.
  15. Thanks guys. Jimbo just had a nice Phantom Stranger 6 in his sales thread this morning, and it was picked up rather quickly. Seems there's still a lot of interest in this title (given that its extremely hard to find in even mid grades).
  16. From whom? mycomicshop.com I was going to try through a local comic shop but couldn't guarantee that I would get the Heath cover version. I just ordered mine through Gemstone's website. No discount, but free shipping and no tax for me. Seemed like an easy way to guarantee the Heath cover version. Heh, just got a note from Gemstone congratulating me because I ordered the book while there was a "glitch" in their web site. Shipping should not have been free. I was wondering why I had the opportunity to select standard, UPS 2 Day, UPS Next Day, and USPS Priority all for no additional cost. !
  17. Finally punched my ticket for this one. Definitely a low grade copy, but thankful to have it.

  19. Got this in the mail today, pumped Beautiful copy!!
  20. A couple more Charlton's arrived today. I'm officially half way through my Space Adventures run of 1-12. I still need 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12 but am making some progress. This one's a little faded and creamy, but I'm happy to have it: Also half way through my Space Westerns. I still need 42, 43, and 45. Not sure who Linda Jean Gross is, but she has some good tastes. Too bad she wiped out one of the flying saucers with scribble!
  21. Good one. I hope to eventually get around to completing my Bulls Eye run. That's a nice looking copy.
  22. Just received a book I purchased from Sharon. It looked better than advertised, was packaged securely, and even included a "bonus" reader. Sharon is one of the best and is such a pleasure to work with. I can't recommend highly enough.
