  1. I really like that one too. I don't know if it's the light blue background or what, but it draws me in. Great pick-up!
  2. That's it! Thanks for the reminder...I knew those marks looked familiar, but couldn't place them... 5 peds not recognized by cgc are labeled as peds by the other guy. tho' i am a cgc devotee, i'm also a ped-geek, so sent 5 books to them just to have the labels read "new hampshire," "eldon," "hap langlie," "cape cod" and "cookeville." Do they recognize Detroit Trolley as well? I've got a couple of those that I'd like to maintain the collection origin even if it wasn't a recognized pedigree.
  3. I picked up Space Western #40 this week. Such an oddball title!
  4. Wow, those Phantom Strangers are beautiful. Congrats! What an incredible find!
  5. I love these weird Space Western books, and found a decent copy of #40. Spurs Jackson, first cross-dresser in space? Now to figure out which bathroom he's supposed to use...
  6. Nice one. Reminded me I have a Tom Corbett as well.
  7. Great Norman Saunders art (both Ellery and Crime Clinic, I presume)
  8. I'm sure I've posted this one before, but here's a really cool painted war cover from 1943:
  9. For me, it's hard to talk painted cover without Alex Ross immediately coming to mind. Though I probably enjoyed Kingdom Come the most, my first introduction to his art was in the Marvels series:
  10. Well this thread got interesting again in a hurry. Stellar books! Congrats.
  11. Not sure if it's rare either. It could be that folks simply just haven't pulled them out of their long boxes. Still, Lady Blackhawk isn't immune to the 1st appearance craze, so seems like folks are looking for Blackhawk 133. A 1.8 is already at $51 on ebay with a couple of days to go. For me, I've just taken an interest in Blackhawk of late and am adding to a small group of the DC portion of the run. Just lucky to find one of the harder issues.
  12. Nice ones. I particularly like the Combat 36, but they both have great covers. I think a lot of the Dell books are still very underappreciated. I've had my eye on some of the Combats as well as Ghost Stories. You can get them in high grade for cheap.
  13. Congratulations! That's fantastic. What a rush you must be feeling.
  14. I've been searching for this one for a while. Thought I had searched every site and online store (multiple times), but was able to find it about 10 pages into a Google search. Paid a whopping $30 for it, and am on cloud 9. Probably a 5.0/5.5, but definitely a difficult book to track down...
  15. Thanks guys. I'm elated to have them. Adam Strange is an under-appreciated character (at least in my book), so I'm hoping DC will do something creative with him again one day.
  16. I finally got my hands on a book I've wanted for a long time. One of my favorite DC characters, Adam Strange... Don't you think it fits nicely with my original owner #18?!
