  1. Depending on who you ask mankind is either saved or doomed by a missing period.
  2. Blue war, baker's half dozen because I couldn't stop at 5
  3. I just got new glasses I've cracked out plenty of books where once you pull the microchamber paper the inside text goes away. But I'll take your word for it that it has a transfer stain. I guess that's why it didn't get a QES sticker.
  4. I don't see a transfer stain on that one. Looks like the a nice white cover where the insides are highlighted because of the microchamber paper. The GSX could be just the way the photo was shot, but it has that greasy transfer stain look.
  5. Or a transfer stain? In my limited experience CVA books look nicer than the average and QES books look like books that someone paid for a QES sticker.
  6. I'm glad it got the QES sticker, otherwise I wouldn't have known whether it was a 'nice mint' or 'ugly mint'
  7. Cover photo for the catalog that will arrive the day after the auction ends.
  8. Fine Mike, I'll stop calling you corrupt.
  9. I think this has worked for them so far. But there are more and more places stepping into the market and I think in time they'll have to adapt or die. Josh may be fine with this if he plans to retire at a fixed date. If he can see the horizon, why bother investing in unnecessary infrastructure if the plan is to flip it in a few years and let the new guy update it. But that's pure speculation.
  10. I went through a bunch of the titles on atlastales, and I can maybe narrow it down to 20-25. I feel like Spellbound 20 is the only one I can definitively put as a top 5 for me. But there's just too many to choose from. BTW, these are all
  11. I tend to lean toward the first printing, but there are a lot of assumptions leading to that which I would prefer more information on. Fortunately, I have no need to make that choice. Given the option with Marvel 1, I'm choosing the Oct copy every time.
  12. Ok, we've all seen our AIWW 13s, how about 17? That's been among the toughest issues to find in decent shape for me.
  13. I wouldn't be surprised to see it change. But it would take a lot of crack/resubs to get the data, and my guess is at 4% FMV with the potential for a big loss there aren't a whole lot of people willing to do it. It's not like the Marvel 1 Oct/Nov discrepancy where it's visible through the slab. Do you think the early version is rare because people are holding it? From the print runs it should be more common. That might also affect any discrepancy in value if the 2nd or 3rd printings are less common. It's the opposite of Marvel 1. Overall, I don't think it's quite as clear cut as we see with moderns where 1st printings are typically more valuable (but even that is changing as people look for scarcer printings)
  14. In my 30 years I don't know of a single person who has marketed a Superman 1 with the distinction noted. I would say that they're following what the market has set.
  15. Would you like the number for my divorce attorney?
