That sales thread is ridiculous. Disorganized and sloppy. I don't think he's actually broken any forum rules though.
The baiting with more books to come is funny though. You can almost see the lineup of people kissing his . Smart move.

Thank You moonlite/David for my first set of Golden age Gerbers

With Christmas getting closer, I thought I would post an updated group shot of my Christmas covers. I just recieved the #117 today from CGC. Not bad for a 7.0 ebay purchase! Also, it's a very hard to find issue in HG. I see 8.0 is the highest on the census.
very nice Mike!
I just remembered I need one of those countdown chocolate calendars. How many days left now?

wow, you are to be commended, that is one heck of a journey you took! Finally made it all the way through 423 pagesOne of the best threads on the boards
Gladuchka if you can read 4 of Rick's posts without half way through you should get a medal!
There were a few times I'd wake up on the couch with the laptop about to fall on the floor and it was always during a Gator post

Kudos to gman for mailing me those worthless Heritage catalogs. I happen to love 'em.

Any idea how I can make contact with Chris? I made the mistake of selling some nice books at Long Beach and let him pay me half with the balance due in a month. He paid all but $350 and now I have no way to get in touch with him. Another dealer at the show vouched for him as a stand-up guy on the Boards and I bit. Mu mistake but any help would be appreciated.
Ed Robertson
What's his board name on here? Someone will probably know him.

Here are few more.
I can honestly say I've never even seen this book. I thought I'd seen most after spending countless hours on comics.org and on here etc. so thanks for posting it.

I was really hoping to bid on this one. It was an auction then was switched to a BIN. The colors were really bright and check out how white the pages are...for only $40 someone got a nice deal!
Hopefully when it shows up its as nice as it looks. I was looking through this thread that night and thought, hmm, haven't looked for any Baker books in a while and found this. I'll post some pics once it shows up (thumbs u

I would say that I'm using ebay twice as much as the boards.
Ditto. It is so disappointing to see our sellers here consistently getting hosed. All I can think is that this place is an almost constant smorgasboard of amazing books and we have more and more people who are trying to eat until their guts explode.
I think percentage-wise we're probably not too bad as we have grown quite a bit over the 5+ years I've been here. Remember, at one time the selling forum was just one forum with crickets chirping in it undisturbed for days on end.
I wish that was true - speaking from a personal point of view, I've had more problems with buyers & sellers here than I've had in 10 years on ebay
How many more transactions do you do compared to eBay now vs. then?
eBay used to be the big dog and also the big hassle. I find I am doing 10-100 times more transactions on there than I am on eBay now.
When I was doing lots of business on eBay almost every other book was overgraded, some were poorly packaged, some were restored and never heard from the seller again etc.
On here it might happen once in 100 purchases for me.
Is it possible that perspective has just changed?
R.
I can and do get overgraded books on both sites (which has curtailed my spending on comics all together).
But only here as a buyer have I had board member cancel my pm purchase because another boardie complained that I did not put the in the thread.
And only here have I had a board member cancel my purchase because the book got returned to them and they didn't want to pay the shipping to me twice.
Sure I was refunded my money but that is not the point, I paid in good faith and they should have honored the sale.
I would never treat you like a second class Canadian, L.
There ain't no such thing in Canada.
(thumbs u ......well, except for long hair having men that probably listen to rock music

I won't be bidding on much of anything in the Heritage auction today but had a number of nice wins on CLink. I got the two I wanted most. I'll probably be giving up my Startling 49 9.0 since I don't need two of those.
I love that Startling. Congrats Cheetah. Let the sales thread begin

All of my C-Link wins:
Awesome cover book ...and white pages!

I have a real connection with bored zombie guy from the Walking Dead. His first appearance is in issue #22 on pg 10. He's the one on the far right just kind of hanging out. He's got his shirt off cause he wants to get some sun on the dead skin. He's probably thinking "Ugh, this is so lame. Really, I gotta stand here all day moaning and mess. I could really use a nap."
