  1. I tried without success, super nice eye appeal 5.5-$32k and super nice eye appeal 7.0 $60k. Ive concluded mc bad eye appeal vs good eye appeal no mc will swing 30 percent in value in the same grade. I dont need gpa to conclude this. This is from a collector that buys/sells and dedicates himself to studying the af15 market. Spiderturtle
  2. Do tell where one might find an "incredible number" of AF 15's, 7.0-7.5 for $44k..... -J. PS: ...that was a 6.0 for $44k on the boards.... 7.0 was available for $44k about 1-1.5 years ago. Tried buying one recently and it seems to be at $60k for a nice eye appeal one
  3. Maybe someone from comicconect can answer this. The scans of the 6.5 and 5.0 must have had diffrent scanning settings 6.5 http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=673080 5.0 http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=667422 Unless the 6.5 background has become yellowish instead if gray
  4. I looked and couldn't see the tape on the cover - can you please let me know where it is? 3 big pieces on back cover ,over what appears to be about 3 diff 2-3" tears
  5. That silly ending time definitely hurt it - but by how much is hard to say. That price seems right. Eye appeal plays big role. 20 percent swings based on eye appeal
  6. It had mc and writing on front cover, $10k would be a strong price
  7. The mc vs no mc copies have wide spreads in pricing, 20 percent swings?
  8. Price looks right based on marvel chipping edge
  9. The more you have of the lower grades 2.0-4.0 $9-15k; the faster you'll be able to sell them. Bigger pool of buyers.
  10. Certain people say a silver age book like af15 is easy to get relative to say some ga books. But does that really matter. The only thing that should matter is supply vs demand.
  11. grays and overall colors were ok on that 4.5, I've owned wide range of grades, and I have to say the grays being still gray makes a huge difference in eye appeal
  12. I'm not at expert an pressing but notes says Front cover small crease Left top back back cover small crease. The right top cover and writing arent reversible. But if it stayed at 6.5 its still worth it cause the grays are still grays and no mc
  13. I know of a recent 7.0 selling for $60k. With this 6.5 being 7.0 candadate, mskes this a good buy at $49k
  14. That cc copy had some creases that did'nt break color. Wonder if it could be pressed to a 7.0. It presents nicely!
  15. Perfect grade for a stan sig , and good placement . I don't think I've ever seen Stan sign one with that placement. Did you request that placement? I purchased it signed already. It is a cool placement. Not many out there like that. It's on ebay, planning to sell it?
  16. When I stop collecting comics thats when I'll have enough copies. Hopefully not anytime soon Any concern of liquidity when you have so many copies? If you sell them over a longer-period of time, no big deal. If you try to unload them in quick succession then you may sub-optimize your prices. Just curious what your thoughts are that drive you to keep buying AF15s. That's a really good point that you have; if i sell it is in succession i'll take a hit. That's why i make a point of buying at the price i am comfortable with so that when i do need to sell them i'll be ok. This requires studying the market and such. Also i make a point of no marvel chipping when buying. I get a thrill of owning af15s therefore my search will continue. I tried owning other big keys but the thrill wasn't the same. Action 1 and tec27 complete copies are now out reach
