  1. Very nice, copy Taro90. When did you hear that the name of the dealer's source was Crippen? Back in 1996 or recently? If you heard it back in 96 then it might indicate that one of the family members was doing the selling and not just the "renovators." interesting...didn't S say that he bought all the D copies from the same person, that was later identified as the contractor?...maybe a crippin family member (son?) sold some books...after all, CMJr was not a "key" character rick
  2. Now Paul is a man that has his priorities straight. Well said sir. for a "True" batman fan, isn't Detective 27 more of a grail
  3. Thanks Richard. I am so ready to geek out. Oh Yeah! (thumbs u oh yea..... , crud.... pansy. so when do you plan to officially change your nom de plume to "gaytor?" Coming from a guy speaking french...... coming from the french bayou, it is not his fault
  4. Thanks Richard. I am so ready to geek out. Oh Yeah! (thumbs u oh yea..... , crud.... pansy. so when do you plan to officially change your nom de plume to "gaytor?"
  5. Jeff, did you call for notes?...usually, these type grades are warranted, but by some less than visible flaw (long non color breaking creases on back covers, or stains, or something)... just curious rick
  6. I think those are pretty high numbers. I don't see someone wanting to pony up that kind of coin for a book that they know isn't going to be the highest graded. It's one thing to pay $1M for the best copy of the best book, but not for the 2nd or 3rd best. Bragging rights need to come with that kind of an investment. Look how much pub Dave Anderson gets on this board - while Geppi is an afterthought (despite having an equally impressive collection). I hear what you are saying, but as far as I know the 8.5 is not for sale, and David Anderson's is not for sale. Geppi's has resto from what I hear, and that makes me believe that if someone wanted to purchase the "Best" book available for sale and maybe for a long time then, and tied for highest in census or top of census might very well be a book that reaches 1 mil. Again, thats just my opinion as 8.5 is highest in census, at least unrestored, and to my knowledge that is not a book for sale. Paul It would sure be interesting if a book like that hit the market. I would love to see the uproar something like that would cause in the hobby. is there still a Malaysian kid slave trade in existence?...I have 4 wonderful children
  7. This is my old copy of Action #1. I liked it then & I like it now, so I'll pick it again. You can't go wrong with an Action Comics #1 that has "off-white to white" pages! West (thumbs u
  8. Thanks Richard. I am so ready to geek out. Oh Yeah! (thumbs u oh yea..... , crud....
  9. I would go with the moderate action 1...it is still the grandaddy of them all, and trumps supes one for me... gator
