There is a 20 to 23 percent buyers premium that does not show on the bid page.

Very nice books, all keys and hard to find. Congrats. Can we ask after these what is next, 139, SC13, or 106 (or are they already in your cupboard)
Thanks! I have SC13 in 7.5. I am looking Flash 139 now. I would not pass on a nice 106 though!

Is anyone following the Goldin auction with the Batman 1 in 8.0, Amazing Fantasy 15 in 8.5, and Showcase 4 in 7.5 among others? One interesting thing I noticed is that the bid prices shown do not include the 20 to 23% buyers premium. At least I dont think they do. I read the auction rules and saw this. Anyone else notice this? Makes a big difference on the final price of these expensive books. At least Heritage has both prices listed, the bid price and the price with the buyers premium.

Just a shot because I don't know for sure but the story "Return to the Pitt" appears in Star Brand 17.
I dont think that story had the merged family in it though.

Wow, that's a big jump. I have an 8.0 that I assumed was a $5,000 book. Now, i'm re-assuming that value
The 7.5 cream to offwhite pages sold the other night for $8,400.

A Sgt Fury in CGC 8.5 sold last night for $31,200 on Heritage. Has this book skyrocketed as well?

I buy the book every year and I still really enjoy it. I also wish they would update their prices to reflect what the major keys are selling for but their prices are pretty decent on non-keys and run books. The market reports are excellent and I like reading the ads too. I plan to buy the hardcopy guide as long as they keep making them. I have every one since number 8 around 1978.

An Amazing Spiderman 2 in 8.0 sold for 15k. Some books are doing very well. Early Marvels are holding their own still.

I saw that book on his wall at Megacon. It's a beauty!

I had great time at Megacon. My son and I bought several very nice books and also sold some. It was nice meeting and talking with some of the dealers in person that I have purchased through their websites. There was nice crowd Saturday at the show and books seemed to be selling. This show is a 4 hour drive for me but was well worth it. I did not see as many keys as I have at prior shows.
I am happy that shows are back and hope to go to Megacon again next year.

It seems to me that 70s and 80s marvels are dropping a bit but are still way over pre-covid levels. Early silver age Marvels and silver age keys are still doing well.

Pretty sure that's all there is.
I reread the story we were talking about. It was at the end of issue 14. Issue 15 was about the Pitt crater and the plague but the family that merged into a blob in issue 14 was not in it. I giuess it was a 10 page back-up in 14 and that was it. Its amazing that I read that short story 35 years ago and I still remember it today.

I thought it started pretty strong, but you can detect the changes along the way that reflected the company's rapidly fading faith in their grand experiment.
I remember that. I really liked John Byrne in Starbrand.

I enjoyed the New Universe!

Believe it starts in Star Brand 14, but the bulk of that story is in Star Brand 15.
Thank you! I have Marvel Unlimited and see it! Does the story end in 15? I didn't see it in issue 16?

Hi
I remember reading the Marvel New Universe in the mid 80s and one story still sticks out in my mind all these years later and I can't seem to find it and want to read it again. It was shortly after The Pitt one shot and I believe it was published as a backup story Iin Star Brand. I remember it dealt with a family in a car who kinda got sucked into the The Pitt and they became like a blob and kept expanding consuming everything. Anyone remember this story and where I could find it?
Thanks!
