  1. Mmmmmm.....Sookie Stackhouse. JL is looking good too. Gandalf looks like he should be one of the Rolling Stones. Rug-burn on Jennifer Lawrence's knees? -slym Buddy: [thinking Miles is an elf] Did you have to borrow a reindeer to get down here? Miles Finch: Hey, jackweed, I get more action in a week than you've had in your entire life. I've got houses in L.A., Paris and Vail. In each one, a 70 inch plasma screen. So I suggest you wipe that stupid smile off your face before I come over there and SMACK it off! You feeling strong, my friend? Call me elf one more time. Buddy: [after a pause] He's an angry elf. [Miles promptly attacks him] Miles Finch: [buddy has just innocently called Miles an 'elf' because of his stature, and Miles is clearly very offended, and daring him] Call me an elf. Buddy: You're an elf! [Miles attacks Buddy] --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2. Highest recorded 9.8 on GPA for Bats #232 is a movie hype fueled 4K in 2007. This year the highest is 1.8K. (thumbs u So with 2 books 9.8 Bats 227 selling at $10M and $6600 and a 9.8 Bats 232 selling at $1.8M, would it be safe to say that 227 is a more valuable book apples to apples?? Im looking for evidence to support the claim based on fact not opinions. Either way doesnt matter as my goal is to be 100% unbiased.... thanks for the 1.8M fact Bats 227 is the more valuable book. If you want evidence, this is a good place to start: http://comics.gpanalysis.com Thanks. I met a dealer that told me 232 is key and more valuable apples to apples in gtrade and that 227 is not key it is only a cool cover and one person paying a premium price doesnt mean its more valuable So i have been investigating In my opinion the dealer is right. #232 is a 1st appearance of a major Batman villain. Its also part of a very good story arc with a Neal Adams cover. #227 is a cover swipe by a great artist. However the internal story is lame. The strength of #227 is Neal Adams and the cover. I don't think any Batman or Adams fan would dispute this. The shorter supply of Bats 227 in high grade dictates things for now.

  4. 9.4 White copy of #227 just added to May Comiclink auction. No picture yet: Bats #227 9.4 White
  5. More jobs than you can shake a stick at, but what is your profession?
  6. Wait... "Days Of Future Past" with Colossus & Blink... I don't get it. *sigh* -slym What is a blink? Sounds new school.
  7. I'm partial to the #232 as well, I don't even care what country it's from. (thumbs u What did they do to Ra's on the red cover? Looks like they put a dog mask on him.
  8. Neil loves Gin and Tonics ! (maybe.) You will get tired of yours someday. I'm patient. If we are starting a lineup, I would not mind first crack at the Adams Bat book (or was it two?) I sold to Teddie.......... My turn then. I will take the Teddie Tomahawk #116 please. Who's next?
  9. I'd say Stargate, Joust, Sinistar and Robotron. It has been down hill ever since.
  10. The house that you buy in Whiterun is literally right next store to the blacksmith. You can store it all right there and it is a 35 second sprint to go get it. Exactly. Until I built my current palace using Hearth Fire, I stored all my smithing stuff in the Whiterun house in the chest by the front door. No way you can carry all those Dragon Bones around at 15 pounds a pop. I'm already too burdened down by the tons of potions I carry at 0.5 pounds a potion. There is a lot of menial inventory maintenance going on in Skyrim, but that is part of the charm for me. Perfect game for those with any level of OCD. Using Kinnect on my 360 makes bartering/maintenance a little easier, because I can sort the inventory list by weight, value or name by speaking those commands to the magic box.
  11. Comiclink added a Bats #238 9.4 to the next auction. No picture available yet. Unquestionably one of the top toughest to find Adams Bat books in 9.2+.
  12. Great deals on both of those Bats 222 copies. Guess I better start paying attention to their auctions?
  13. Wow, this thread had fallen all the way to Bronze Page 3. A nice looking/well-centered white paged 9.2 coming up in the next CLink auction: Bats 227 9.2
  14. Another fugly white-stripe (kinda straight?) miswrap will hurt the final price on this one and put a black eye on 9.6 prices in general. At least it wont show up on GPA. Or am I over-reacting?: Clink Bats 227 9.6
  15. Selling the first 21 James Bond films on DVD over in Mixed. Most don't frequent the Mixed/Misc section, so I'm posting the link here. Price was dropped today. James Bond DVD For Sale Thread
  16. I agree witth everything Teddie has said and no its not my copy either but i have held it in my hand about 2 years ago but the owner wasnt willing to sell. From memory the first things that occured to me were the fact that it was a bright clean copy, had sharp corners and that it had White pages. I didnt really take much notice of the date stamp simply because date stamps dont bother me. As for the QP it really isnt as bad as what some people think. The one's i really take a dislike to are the ones that appear like the Western Penn Avengers #116 coming up in the next foucused auction on Comiclink http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2Fauctions%2Fpreview%2Easp%3Fcode%3D2012sept%26session%3D4%26pg%3D6%23Item%5F945156&id=945156 that for me is too obvious. I think that the only things stopping it from getting a 9.8 is probably the date stamp and possibly the slight wear top left. Certainly one of the better 9.6's ive seen recently. Where's the datestamp on this book? He's referring to the mis-wrap/white spine, not a date stamp.
  17. I'm loving the sharp corners, but hating the non-even mis-wrap. Could do without the date stamp too.
  18. I agree - just surprised he hasn't done more work with such a popular character from the era. What about Tec#369 which has the Batgirl / Robin team-up, did Adams do the art on the story ? I know he's credited with some of the cover art. Adams did the Elongated Man backup story in that book. Sadly, no Batgirl.
  19. Why don't we club together and buy a 9.8, you can have it for 6 months of the year and then I'll have it the other 6 months I know a dealer that has one for sale.
  20. I agree as well, the Dark Knight Batman “type” that was the impetus for all the movies, the early ones included, started around this time I think. The earlier into the 60’s you go the more sci fi, campy things seem to get for me. Even the flippers have to realize though that many of these Adams keys will be desirable long into the future. I actually hope prices do dip post movie hype so more of us can afford some of these bad-boys in better grades. In the meantime I will be hunting and researching the foreign 227 variants far into the future. I have begun work on my 227 specific article and I hope to include side by side compare and contrast elements using Bats 227 and all its foreign brethren. Below are the known true 227 Adams bats variants…… Starting with the American, The Mexican Novaro, The French Sage edition, and the beautiful Brazilian EBAL! Only three believe it or not…. The Brazilian being the prettiest…. Many of the Brazilian Ebals had a almost pastel look to the covers. There are still some rumored to exist 227 variants that will remain close to my chest…. Weird that the French version changed Batman's face.
  21. It will be interesting. The CC copy is beautifully centered and presents very well. Normally I'd go for it but I'm all spent up! The real reason HG slabbed Adams Batbooks are dipping in price right now - a reduction in top bidders by one......... Do tell? Who might this be?
