  1. Here is the official favorite covers final round poll. We spent 4 months narrowing them down to this final group. Please vote there as well, and WTTB! Neal Adams Favorite Covers Poll Final Round
  2. I have never read it either. I just stare at the cover in admiration and wonder. What was the final tally of the Clink 9.4?
  3. Old label books were slabbed 8+ years ago and probably were not pressed. Some like to buy old label books for that reason and keep them in their old label cases. Others like to buy the old label books, crack them out, press them, and resubmit to hopefully improve the grade.
  4. Derek sold me a book and made good on an over-site. Solid seller with great customer service.
  5. Yes, definitely the quintessential bronze Gothic Batman cover that transcends Adams fan boy interest. No doubt about it. Here's the example from Levitz's oversized book. Compared to how much space is dedicated to Tec 402 and Bats 232, how can you NOT want this book They couldn't find a nicer copy of #227 to photograph for the book? That spine stress is making me cringe.

  7. Yes, From what I have observed the past 2 or 3 years, when a Bats #227 comes up for auction in 9.2+, there are usually many fighting for it and prices are rising. You don't see this book in every auction in 9.2+. Bats #232 and #234 in 9.4+ show up in just about every CLink monthly auction, so they can be had for market value or less depending on who is bidding that month. I agree with Ryan that #232 is such an important book in the Batman continuity, but too many HG copies are out there and continue to be readily available. Bats #227 may suffer the same fate as GL #76 as pressers and flippers start to target this book. The black cover will make it a bit tougher though to easily find raw potential improvement candidates.
  8. Sweet book! Does this mean a 9.2 or 9.4 undercopy will become available? PM sent
  9. Latest grail added to my collection! Thanks to the boardie who made this acquisition possible. You know who you are.
  10. C/OW does hurt bronze a ton, maybe more than it should. There is also a big difference on Bats 227 between a 9.0 and 9.2. 9.2 seems to be the starting point for high grade on that book. Prices are rising in all grades though as demand is far more than supply.
  11. Most of you have already voted, but for those that haven't please do. I'm trying to push the votes past 1000 before I declare a winner, and we are at 860+ right now. I will divulge that Bats #227 is leading the poll of the final 39 Adams covers. You can choose to push the book out of reach of the other contenders, or sabotage it by excluding it from your top 15. The choice is yours. Some are complaining that Bats #227 should not win because it is an homage to another artists work (on Tec 31). What do you think? Is Batman #227 the greatest of all Neal Adams covers? Let your voice be heard right here: Ultimate Neal Adams Covers Poll: FINAL Round!
  12. Bats #251 has gone bonkers since the Dark Knight came out. All the Joker-Heads have been coming out of the woodwork to bump up the prices in 9.4+. It has appeal beyond being an Adams classic. The common collector just identifies this cover as the epitome of BA Batman greatness.
  13. You are the owner, Joe? Sweet page. Funny, I just read that 6 issue series last week after buying them on the boards last year.
  14. Ok, I have to ask, did one of us 227 freaks step up and nab this one? I doubt anyone here would spend almost $300 on a F/VF copy w/ C/OW pages. actually looks like a 8.5, but yes, the pages are cream to OW for a bronze age book. Look at the photos again. Way too many spine ticks and a big (pressable) crease on the LRBC. Maybe 7.5 in hand?

  16. Thanks to the generosity of the participating boardies, we have plenty of great Adams prizes (Comics including a low grade Bats 227, reprint books, original art commission, posters, etc...), but not enough contestants! Last call to get some more players. Wont take you long, costs you nothing to play and you will probably go home with a prize in hand. PM me and I will send you the rules (they are also on page 1 of the contest and prize thread). Adams Cover Contest Thread
  17. Sorry buddy, when an affordable/attractive 9.2+ comes to market, it's every man for himself!
  18. Thanks to those who shot me a PM of this! Meltdowns
  19. Still haven't gotten a pm. I guess that's because I had a crush on Mary Lou Retton as a child... +1
  20. CLink will only submit selective data to GPA, in other words they will only report high sales prices realised. They won't submit low prices realised as it's 'hurting the market' and they don't want to run the risk of promoting lower prices for their books. George won't accept this, it's either all or nothing. Fair play to him. I offered to submit all C-Link auction results to George for free after every auction if that is what it would take to get them included in GPA results. They are public domain prices realized after all. Anyone with an account can view them. George at GPA has intimated that Josh at Comiclink would not be happy about this, so he refused my offer. I'm not sure how George collects his data from different sites, but I'm pretty sure he's not going to include information from a site that aren't 100% consenting. If CLink don't want to report all sales, George isn't going to take that information from a third party. Plus (and this is no personal slur on you), it would be possible for a third party to manipulate those figures before submitting, that's why George will never take information from boardies who've bought and sold on the boards. Never thought about the data tampering aspect. That makes good sense.
