I think most collectors now a days are key collectors, where I feel your older collectors are run collectors. Your non-keys from the SA are not as collected. When I was putting together my X-Men, many of the non key silver age issues in 9.4 where less than a modern hot book in 9.8.

Does anyone think the state of the economy has more to do with it?

If you break up the set, I’d be interested in #5 and #15!

Right under the price box, you can see white staining where it looks like color is missing from the cover. What did you think it was going to come back as?

Is the strange adventures 214 still available?

It's definitely not worth to slab, I'd say 7.0 to 7.5, maybe a 8.0 with a press.

Anyone believe this copy actually sold? Graded copies were up for less.

Well, in this case the pricing is borne out by real world prices. A CGC 9.4 Flash 105 would certainly go for more than a CGC 9.4 DD 1 and much more than a CGC 9.4 Avengers 4.
Yes, but it’s going for more money due to scarcity in grade than actual demand. If all three books were available in equivalent high grade copies on the census, both Marvel books would go for more.

So to recap, what issues do you have?

I agree with those who vote for neither of the above copies. ASM #129 is plentiful in the mid-grades and based on current GPA you should be able to land a CGC 5.0 - 5.5 at your budget of $1,200. And for mid-grade copies I would try to hunt for copies where the major flaws are on the back of the comic. As an example I show my own copy which presents very well for its grade as the major flaw is a subscription crease on the back cover. Be patient and be picky and you will be rewarded. Good luck with the hunt!
Wow, they really hammered the back for the crease as the front looks like a 9.0+

Not sure of your budget, but Greg Reece has a nice presenting 8.0 on his website:
https://reececomics.com/product/amazing-spider-man-129-cgc-80-owwh-pages for $2600
here is a nice 3.0 on comiclink ending tonight:

Personally, I would just look for different copies in the desired grade range, as both have detrimental defects that I think would be a hard sell later on, unless they are at a bargain of a price.

Do you guys think the whole cancel culture will cool this book off, demand stay the same, or increase as time goes on?
-
I think the point is, everyone on this board for the most part, is fully aware of their policy regarding the back scans, so why bring it up. Additionally, the fact they do not have a buyer's premium comparted to HA, makes up for that fact.

Purchased a nice CGC graded book from James. Superb communication, excellent packaging, prompt shipment. Great experience!

Hey guys, was wondering your thoughts on the matter? Is there a market for high grade Fangoria magazines? Do not see too many CGC'd but is there a demand market for high grade copies?

I'm not sure, have any pulps broken 100K?
First Conan in high grade might do silly money.
