  1. I'm not saying this to be rude but a helpful suggestion. The X-men book missing two pages, is going to be a deal breaker, your price is comparable to other low grade complete copies. You might be better off selling the front and back cover and then wraps as someone may grab them to complete a book.

I've been tired of them for a long time...

and I don't even buy them!

Me too, I liked them for milestone issues but then it has become impossible to get most. I feel bad for collectors lets say buying ASM for 50 years but missed out on let's say the #666 Del'Otto variant and would pay more for that than early issues in the run.

As a side note, I do agree that Rick Remender’s Uncanny X-Force (vol. 1) is a quintessential read.

    Issues 1 - 35.

The series does not focus solely on Psylocke, but is so well done that I feel it’s essential reading for each character on the team: Wolverine, Deadpool, Psylocke, Archangel, and Fantomex.

This was a great run, great art as well from Jerome Opena.

This 7.0 copy ended for a very strong price :whatthe:.  Last few 7.0's have sold in the $40k range.  I wonder why this copy was so special.

Was that sold on Heritage ? If so, is that the the price with the buyer's premium? I believe they ship outside the USA where most other large houses do not, that could be why.

I only ask this as I am not 100% sure this is the process - but wouldn't the acid in a cream-paged book threaten to tan the cover quicker over the long-term (I'm talking 10 years+), and if the book currently has cream pages that some of that process has already begun (dependent on when the microchamber papers were inserted in the book on slabbing?).

The book was cream to off white before it was graded, where it sat, as is for 50+ years, now with the micro chamber paper and proper storage, the book is not going to degrade significantly in any of our lifetimes.

  6. I know I am in the minority with view, but I do not really see why it has achieved the level of "key" status or value regardless of the things you mentioned. You mention organically, but a lot of modern books achieve "key" status as a result of discussions on this specific and similar boards by members sitting on substantial quantities of the book. It is a knock off of a well known character, and in my opinion nothing more, and I would use this argument for X-23 etc. I understand all characters can be, and a lot of times are derivatives of well established characters, but I personally just do not see it. I'm not trying to argue with anyone, I can understand why individuals think it's an important book, I just never got it.

  7. I think the real concern of the last few pages was the low price that the 7.5 sold for in comparison to others in that grade. Books in the 5.0 to 7.5 are going to have price variations as they are too expensive for low grade collectors and not high enough of a grade for for high grade collectors, so you are going to have that type of variation. The economy isn’t that great so that’s certainly a factor as well.

  8. I think this book has a lot of hype as being the next big thing, and I agree it’s a modern key, but Peter Parker IS Spider-Man. I think speculation has a lot to do with the value and people think it’s going to go substantially higher, but it has taken exponential price increases over the past few years and I think you will see a bit of a cool off.

I'm definitely not an expert and nowhere close to the league of the people commenting in terms of having a keen eye... But doesn't seem like an awful 7.5 to me... have definitely seen worse.

I think people should stop being in denial about this book being soft and coming down in value and not quite finding its bottom.

Btw, I too own an AF15 so am feeling the pain, I just don't think being in denial is a good strategy!

I would agree, while some of the pieces near the top of the cover are unsightly, the right side of the book does not have major chipping, and the spine and corners are very sharp.
