  1. Thanks for your opinion. -slym This guy is funny cuz he contacted me asking me to give grades then goes on and tells me he doesn't buy just because seller don't assign grades nor will he buy because seller provides scans. Why did he even bother to contact me on my raws? I'm confused. How I see it, if I assign a grade and when he received and doesn't like what my assigned grade is, he will blow a fuse... Put him on ignore... I contacted you because I was interested in purchasing them. If you had sent me the grades as I requested in my pm I might have purchased them. Instead you decided to throw a tantrum. Regarding the ignore button I commented about this in a previous thread. Putting a person on ignore is a huge sign of weakness. You might as well hand in your man card when you do it. Can you imagine John Wayne or Clint Eastwood doing that. No chance. Under no condition would I ever lower myself by putting someone on ignore.
  2. I'm not sure if this is appropriate and if not please let me know and I will delete it. I will be attending the show this Sunday and here is my want list. If any of you who will be attending can help me out please let me know. Here are the comics I'm looking for. All must be CGC 9.8 blue universal with white pages and nice wraps: Walking Dead #5, #6, #18, #54, #61, #79 and #80. Black Lightning #1 (1977) Firestorm #1 (1978) Jonah Hex #1 (1977) Howard the Duck #1 (1976)
  3. I purchased my ticket today. This is my third time in the last 4 years that I have attended this show. It's without a doubt my favorite show.
  4. Patently untrue. -slym I disagree. I have heard and seen way to many horror stories. Again this is my opinion and I understand that some people will disagree.
  5. I don't see a problem with the seller hedging on description by using phrases like this: "To me it looks like a VG+, but since there can be differences of opinions on some aspects of grading, please do your part and look over the photos carefully before placing a bid." It sounds wishy-washy but I think it's fair to ask the buyer to meet you half-way by giving things a look-over. It shouldn't be hard for any seller to list basic flaws like: Rusty staples, staple pull-tears, spine splits, detached center wraps (one or both staples), tape, interior paper quality, bends/creases, strong odor, or anything that smacks of restoration. I agree sometimes if I am not sure on a book I will say 9.4/9.2 to a strong 9.2 or VF+ 8.5 to possible VF 8.0 and then list defects. I see no issue with that at all. What if you get a buyer who says yeah that 9.2-9.4 is an 8.0 at best and hits ya with a neg? The main thing IMO to consider for sellers that don't grade their comics is they are pretty much eliminating 40-60% of potential buyers. No matter what the reason sellers have for doing this they are going to toss away a lot of potential business. Like I said I would never spend any money on line with sellers that don't grade their comics. I think a high percentage of them (of course not all) are trying to over charge. Since there are ample sellers that do grade their comics I would much rather give those sellers my business.
  6. There are ample sellers that do grade their comics and that's who I wish to spend my money with. IMO most sellers that do not assign a grade are trying to over-charge the buyer. I understand that some sellers are honest but from what I have seen a buyer is taking a big gamble purchasing comics that are not graded. We all know that a scan will not show every defect on a comic. The best way to grade a comic is to actually hold it and since only the seller can hold it they need to assign a grade. Plus I still don't understand how a seller can honestly say they cannot grade but somehow find a way to come up with a value for the comic. As we all know a comics value is based on the condition and if a seller can't grade how can they put a value to the comic? The entire not putting a grade on a comic sounds really fishy to me and therefore I avoid sellers that do this. Again this is just my opinion and I'm sure many people will disagree with me.
  7. I'm curious if a seller claims he can't assign a grade how does that seller come up with a price? If a raw WD#1 sells for 2000 in NM do they sell it for 2000 regardless of the condition? Obviously they dont. They assign a price depending on the grade which means they can grade a comic. Personally I would never purchase a comic through the mail without a grade assigned to it. I'm sure there are some honest sellers that do this but IMO most are not. I have heard way to many horror stories of buyers getting duped.
  8. People were saying the same thing 3 years ago... Clearly they were wrong. 3 years ago WD was in season what, 2 ? Things were going well for the show. It was in full swing and interesting. Past tense. Also 3 years ago people were saying WD 1 9.8 would likely be selling for 5K by now. Ummm.... no. I I work for law enforcement and work with hundreds of people. Not one person I talk with is getting tired of the show. In fact they like the show better every season. I don't know what some of you guys are talking about. The show has over 15 million people watching it every week. It's the only show that I consistently hear people talking about and people love this show. The only time I ever hear negative comments about the walking dead is on this website and other comic websites. I also hear some bad comments at my LCS. So besides comic guys I have NEVER heard one person say anything bad about the show. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but the show is not close to ending. I think Kirkman mentioned he has enough material already written for 12 seasons. The TV show will most likely be on for at least 6 more years and who knows it could go on for 15 or more seasons. Plus I'm sure once it does end they will probably have a Walking Dead movie. I have heard the same song and dance comments on this website about how this show stinks and will be ending soon. Well it's not going to happen for many years folks. The ratings are incredible and the general public loves the show. For every comic guy who disses the show there are thousands of regular guys/gals that love the show. One more thing I keep hearing some of you dissing the comic and claiming the price is going to go way down. Well I’m glad I did not listen to any of you because the price has been going up the last couple of years. According to GPA the 2014 average price for a CGC 9.8 copy was $1,982. The 2015 average price was $2,075 and the current 90 average price is $2,424. The last copy sold went for $2,900. Issue #2 will now cost you around $1,100 to obtain. The current 90 average price is $1,179. Plus for those of you who read the wanted to buy forum you will see ample collectors trying to get some of the tougher issues to find and they are offering over 200% of GPA for some issues. Bottom Line: The Walking Dead is HOT. The comic is one of the best comics to hit the stands each month and the TV show is one of the most popular shows on TV. Of course some people don’t like it but the overwhelming majority of people do and that means the show and comic will be around for a long time.
  9. + 1. Everybody can make a mistake and therefore we should be given a second chance. That’s not the case in this situation. Oceanavekid has had numerous bad experiences on this board. If he’s taken off the probation list he would have been given multiple chances and the most likely outcome will be a new member getting the screws from him in a couple of months. I thought we were a community that looks after each other. IMO giving this guy the opportunity to sell comics is not protecting the community. The posters who know about him will most likely not deal with him but what about the ample posters that don’t know who he is. Who’s protecting them? IMO I care more about the members who do the right thing day after day then this poster who has been nothing but a problem since he arrived here.
  10. So who did Negan kill? There are 11 candidates but in reality there are only 5 possibilities: 1) Glenn, 2) Abraham, 3) Eugene, 4) Daryl, 5) Aaron. IMO there is no chance Negan would kill a woman. Not only would it hinder his chances of getting the group to agree with his demands it would also be to brutal for TV. This means Michonne, Rosita, Maggie, and Sasha are safe. Rick and Carl are also safe. There is no chance that Kirkman would kill either of these two characters at this stage of the show. Plus Negan said if anyone moves to cut Carl’s other eye out and feed it to Rick. This implies that Rick and Carl were not killed. This leaves the 5 candidates I mentioned above. IMO here is the order of most likely to have been killed: 1) Glenn, 2) Abraham, 3) Eugene, 4) Aaron, 5) Daryl. I think Negan needs to kill a major character to make the audience truly hate him. Killing Aaron would not do it and I can’t see them killing Daryl. Daryl is too important to the show and AMC has invested a lot in him. If I was a betting man, and I am, I would say that it’s Glen, Abraham, or Eugene that got killed.
  11. I watched the show with 10 people and all 10 loved the episode. Pretty much every person wished they would have shown who died but they all thought it was a great episode. What I find odd about the Walking Dead TV show is it seems the only people that don’t like the show are comic collectors. I work with hundreds of people and I talked with at least 20 people today that watched last night’s episode and they all loved it. Of course they were hoping to see who actually got killed but they think this season was great and are looking forward to the next season. Personally I thought the episode was very well done. I liked pretty much everything about it until the last seconds of the show when they failed to show who got killed. But come on guys I thought most of you already knew how this episode was going to end. I read somewhere last week, I thought it was on this site but I could be wrong, that the rumor was they would not show who was going to be killed. The ending was pretty much exactly what I read last week. Season 6 was a huge success (ratings) and pretty much every person I talk with loves the show. The only negatives I ever hear about the show is from comic readers. I knew this board was going to be upset with the ending and the guys at my LCS are also pissed. What I really think is amusing are people that have seen every episode who are now claiming they will never watch another episode. Yea sure you won’t. I keep hearing the same thing from comic book people in regards to Game of Thrones. They too are claiming they will boycott the upcoming season because of the way the show ended with John Snow.
  12. if this is the case, I think it is only fair to make a post in that thread to alert and warn any potential members. If that's considered thread crapping then I don't see a point of any probation list. That makes perfect sense. I'm sure there are a lot of members who don't read the probation list.
  13. Please help. If a member is on the current probation list can they start an ad in the wanted to buy forum?
  14. I have no idea what his political views are but unless an author /artist has already made it big and they are millionaires , they really should not discuss politics. Doing so will ALWAYS cost you business. My father loved to discuss politics but when he owned a restaurant he never expressed his opinion because he knew it would lose him customers. There are a lot of people who take politics very serious and they don't want to hear someone dumping on their views.
  15. Was She looked great as she kept exposing that lace black bra! R_H Guys come on she's a nice looking women but she's not off the charts. I live in Southern California and you can see hundreds of better looking women any day you hit the beach. In fact if you go to South Coast Plaza (Mall) on any weekend you will see at least 50 women in an hour who are better looking. I live in San Diego. I see just as many. Doesn't mean Rosita lady wasn't hot on TD. Your correct but IMO she's not a hot looking women. She's a nice looking woman but if she was walking around at a Southern California beach in July she would be nothing special. Hey I'm just expression my opinion. If some of you think she's hot and top shelf material thats fine. We all have different tastes in women.

  17. Rick does not know how strong Negan's group is. If I remember correctly he asked about Negan's group and was told nobody knows for sure but they did see about 20 of them at one time. Obviously Rick thinks his group is much stronger and if they strike first they can take out Negan’s group with little or zero causalities. If Rich knew that Negan's group consisted of 50 + well-armed men he would obviously avoid attacking them until his group was more prepared.
  18. Guys, Thanks to both of you for the update. I have read every issue of Todd and Bedlam and liked both books. Hopefully we will see them again soon.
  19. Guys, Sorry if this has already been discussed but what happened to this comic? Was it canceled? Is the writer/artist sick and that's the reason for the delay? I love IMAGE but I hate how a comic stops coming out without any explanation from the creators. Was Bedlam officially canceled?
  20. Guys, I keep reading how second, third, etc. prints have low print runs and therefore would be good buys but they are reprints. Why would anyone invest money in reprints? IMO they will have very little value 5-10 years from now. I guess if people are buying them to flip that makes sense but if anyone out there is actually buying these to keep as a future investment I would really like to hear the reasoning. I honestly don't understand the pricing on reprints. Most are worth very little which makes sense but there are some issues that are worth a good chunk of change. There is no consistency behind the pricing and I would stay far away from all of them. IMO a lot of people are going to be burned big time and stuck with a bunch of worthless reprints.
  21. Folks, I’m not sure if I should be posting this here and if not please let me know and I will delete it. I have been reading and collecting the Walking Dead since issue #100. Like most readers who started years after the series began I went back and read the entire story a couple of times. Because of my love for this comic and TV show I decided to collect the entire run in CGC 9.8 blue condition. This is the only series I have done this for. I only have 10 issues to go but I can't seem to find the last 10. I have been checking EBAY and mycomicshop on a daily basis and I'm having no luck. I put a couple of ads on the Wanted to buy section and I still can't find these issues. The issues I need are not big dollar items but they don't have that many copies graded 9.8 so they are tougher to find. If anyone can help please pm me.
  22. Thanks for the update. Next issue should be a good one.
  23. I agree with you 100%. I seriously doubt anyone purchasing second and third prints for big bucks is putting them away for the long term. I'm sure they are probably going to flip them. IMO buying second and third prints for big money is extremely risky. I understand that some 2nd prints are valuable but most are not. Personally I would never purchase a second or third print. They are reprints and the chances of them being pretty much worthless one day is pretty high.
  24. Me too I have been buying and reading this comic since issue #1. Like CBT asked I would also be interested to know how long this comic plans to go. IMO it's one of the best comics being produced today.
