  3. Great seller. I received my NM #98 in CGC 9.8 condition in 2 days and the comic was packaged with great care. I highly recommend this seller.
  4. Wow another thread claiming that WD is over priced. These come up 2-3 times a year and so far every single one has been wrong. Recently I had to sell my entire comic collection which included a complete set of the WD (#1-#171) in CGC 9.8 condition. I had NO PROBLEMS selling 90% of the series and I received close to GPA for most issues. I had 3 copies of issue #1 and sold two of them for $2,300 each without paying EBAY fees. Historically the keys go down after the show ends and pick up when it starts again in October. The key thing to remember is the print run for issue #1. There were less than 7,300 copies made. The value of WD is fine guys. The sky is not falling. This annual topic is getting pretty hilarious.
  5. Thanks for the advice guys. I would like to let everyone know that I had no problem selling most of the issues and I did not give them away. In fact I had a harder time selling my ASM keys ( 121,122,238, 252, 294,300). Most of the offers on the ASM books were asinine offers. I sold over 100 issues of the Walking Dead within a couple of days. I only have 37 of the 171 issues left. I still have issue one (black label) and the majority of the other 36 issues are after issue #130. I sold a bunch to two great CGC members who both happen to live in Great Britain. I was hoping to sell issue #1 after I sold everything and that's why I still have it. I only asked a couple of members if they would be interested. I'm positive I can sell it on EBAY at a good price.
  6. This is a great guy and I highly recommend doing business with him. I recently sent 19 CGC slabs to David and he paid immediately and the entire transaction was a great experience.
  7. Stephen just purchased thousands of dollars of CGC comics from me. He paid immediately and I highly recommend doing business with him.
  8. Folks, I'm looking for some advice. I have a family emergency and I need to sell my Walking Dead collection asap. I'm not looking for top dollar but I will not give it away. I'm thinking close to GPA prices for the entire set is reasonable. Can anyone advise me the best way to do this? Putting them up for auction probably won't work because it will take to long and I don't see the collection selling here. Would EBAY be the way to go? I rarely purchase anything from EBAY so I have no idea if this would generate any interest. Does anyone know anyone that would be interested in this? Any help would be appreciated. The collection I have is every regular issue of the Walking Dead in CGC 9.8 blue universal condition (#1 - #171). I only have the regular issue/cover. I do not have any 2nd prints, varient or convention covers. Issue #1 is a black label copy. 90% of the issues were purchased from members on this board. I'm looking for someone who will take the entire set.
  9. CGC 9.8 copies are still getting good prices. IMO I would not purchase any graded 9.4 or 9.6 copies for investment purposes. If you don't want to purchase a CGC 9.8 copy I would purchase high end raw copies.
  10. This was written this past October: Including Season 8, all of the season premieres now rank, from first to last according to demo rating, as follows: Season 5 (8.7, 17.29 million) Season 7 (8.4, 17.03 million) Season 4 (8.2, 16.11 million) Season 6 (7.4, 14.63 million) Season 3 (5.8, 10.86 million) Season 8 (5.0, 11.4 million) Season 2 (3.8, 7.26 million) Season 1 (2.7, 5.35 million) Nevertheless, “The Walking Dead” is one of few shows that could experience such a steep decline and still remain in solid ratings shape. Compared to the other top-rated scripted shows on television, it remains the number one show on television in the key demo. One more thing I never said Walking Dead #1 was the best investment in comics. I never compared it to any of the 3 books you listed above. In fact if I had $3,000 to invest it would not be one of my top 10 picks. My point is for ample years I have read time after time members predicting the decline of this comic/series. On every occasion they have been wrong. Nobody knows how long this show will remain on the air and nobody knows what the value will be 10 years from now but if I had to guess it would be worth a lot more 10 years from now. One thing a lot of people are forgetting is the print run for issue #1. There are less than 7,300 copies out there and even this past month I could not find any issues of Walking Dead before issue #100 at 7 different comic stores in Orange County. The series is not as hot as it once was but it still draws millions of people each week and besides Game of Thrones it's the only TV show I consistently hear people talk about when I'm at work/church/out in the public.
  11. The one constant claim on these boards over the years is members predicting the downhill slide of Walking Dead #1. So far every single member has been wrong. At $500 (CGC 9.8) I heard it would never get higher and it was time to take the money and run. Months later I heard the same thing when it was worth $1,000. Same thing happened at 1,500, $2,000, and now at $2,500. The show still draws over 10 million viewers every week. The comic still sells well. Season 9 was renewed and Fear the Walking Dead season 4 starts in a couple of months. Bottom Line: Members predicting the comic will start losing its value is hilarious at this point. I'm glad I never took this advice. Most of my key purchases have been financed by me selling my duplicate WD copies that all doubled or tripled in value. Of course it could happen (big drop in value) but nobody knows for sure. 10 years from now the book could easily be worth $5,000. The print run for issue #1 is less than 7,500 copies plus years from now when the show eventually ends you know they will make a movie or 2 which will help increase the value. IMO if WD #1 drops big time I think most of the comic market will drop with it
  12. Walking dead has a letter page every issue It usually consists of at least 2 pages.
  13. Great post. Plus there is a good chance that Walking Dead with have more spin off shows and a movie. For those of you who stopped watching Fear the Walking Dead you should give it another chance. The last season was really solid plus the upcoming season will have Morgan as a new character on the show.
  14. Surprised nobody mentioned WD#1 which has been selling for over $2,500.
  15. Lighten up Francis. I'm merely making a statement of fact regarding how the sellers forum has changed. Of course people have the right to charge whatever they want. The point is the sellers forum was once a great place to buy comics.
  16. You are 100% correct. I was discussing this with a couple of my buddies last week. Back in the day a new member would rarely be selling comics in the first 6 months. Another thing that has changed is years ago you would rarely see a seller asking for prices that are over GPA (unless the comic was rare or super hot). Since the seller was saving on EBAY fees they would usually price their items under GPA but this has completely changed. Most of the items I see for sale are well above GPA and even after 2-3 price cuts they are still over GPA. Most of the items I see like this rarely sell compared to years ago when most of what was put up for sale actually sold.
  17. I apologize I did not mean to quote your comments. I thought I was adding to the discussion. Again I'm sorry.
  18. Wow how predictable. The only people I ever hear complaining about this show is comic collectors. The show is still popular with everybody I know. I work at the Federal building in Orange County and there are over 100 people that watch the show every week. I have not heard any complaints from 1 person. Most of the members here have been complaining about the show and comic for years and 5 years from now when the show is starting season 13 and the comic is approaching issue 250 I'm sure it will be the same. I can not understand why so many comic book collectors are so against this show/comic. The Walking Dead has brought thousands of people into our hobby. It has done so much for our hobby and therefore you would think most comic collectors would hope it would go on forever instead of year after year predicting its doom.
  19. IMO buying a CGC 9.8 copy for $300 is a good long term investment (5 years out). Like someone mentioned what you are seeing right now is the flippers all dumping their product at the same time. I have a CGC 9.8 copy and I'm definitely keeping it even if it drops below $200.
  20. Great transaction and I will definitely purchase from this collector again. I ordered ASM #122 on Friday and had it delivered on Monday. Great customer service and he did a great job of packing the slab. I highly recommend him.
