  1. I think that all things being equal, a book with printer's creases laying next to an identical book without them will grade a notch lower, but probably not more than that. For the book in question here, I would say the greater factor is the overhang on the back cover edge, especially the tearing to the left of the "Mountain Mover." I think you're looking at about an 8.0 on this copy, with that BC really dragging down the grade.
  2. Looks like a 7.5 to me, but presents beautifully. Congrats on the book and add me to those who'd be interested on the backstory/how you acquired such a gem!
  3. I'd buy books that look like that all day if they're priced at 7.5 grade-levels. The corner dings definitely drop below a 9.4 but I think you're at around 8.5 as it lays with an opportunity to press several grades higher.
  4. I was going to say 6.5 before seeing that chip on the UBC; still a very pretty book but I'd call it a 5.5-6.0.
  5. OP must have a lot of time on his hands to create an account here, take photos, start thread, upload them, and write original post just to get banned.
  6. Aquaman 11 and Hulk King-Size Special 1 as per PM.
  7. I love the Twin Cities books. I think they're one of my favorite pedigrees based on just how much the colors pop on so many of the covers, which really stand out against the white pages.
  8. Set-up looked great, Chris! How did that Archie collection do? And that Jughead monster book in particular?
  9. Spent about an hour yesterday digging through a ton of long boxes at an antique mall where everything was $2... was tough to tear myself away because there were a bunch of Batman Adventures littered in throughout so I was holding out hope for a No. 12 to no avail. That said, was still pleased to find this minor gem - a solid 9.2 or better:
  10. Picked these up this morning for $2 a pop at a used book store - very nice midgrade+ copies. Unfortunately the $2 stickers are on the books themselves so I'm debating the risk/reward of attempting to remove them.
  11. How will Mark S. Halboua react when he learns his property is being auctioned off, here?
  12. Interesting comparison of the pricing variants... but does this mean there are at least three "cents" variants? If you compare the copy sold last night to the three you list above, the "c" is closest to the one on the left, but it's more circular and "squatter" than the one in your photo.
  13. Anyone else follow/see this auction last night? I had what I thought was a respectable bid in although I still expected to get edged out in the live bidding. Not only did I get edged out, but I got smoked... https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/western/rawhide-kid-17-marvel-1960-cgc-vf-85-white-pages/a/121732-11612.s? How high do you think this result elevates the book? And did Heritage make a mistake burying it in a Sunday auction as opposed to the Signature one currently on offer?
  14. lol, it's like Barbie dolls playing on a toy built for Little People.
  15. Beautiful book. I've always loved that cover... such a classic.
