I would not call Web of #18 Venom’s “first appearance”. Yes, we can put 2+2 together, but we don’t see him. There will always be some ambiguity there. That’s why the market does not push that book through the roof. However, SW #1 clearly reveals “the one from beyond”.

So, I found my ASM #300 at my parents house this evening. I purchased it at a comic shop on release day. It’s beat up. However, I’m wondering what a pressing and cleaning will do.🤔 Or, is the damage bad enough that I should look at restoration. In either case, if you guys could recommend a great presser or restoration expert, that would be great. Thanks for your time, guys.

I would get the ASM 300 resigned by McFarlane. You’d get the yellow label with green trim. Yellow label confirms the recent witnessed signature. There are not many yellow labels with green trim on the market. While it’s clear they won’t fetch top dollar, I don’t think there is enough information out there to determine if our community would avoid them, altogether. I’m starting to dip my toes into these waters, myself... I would slap a green label on that Bone book. At the very least, it will preserve the book.

Here’s what I ask myself before making the decision: “which will bring a bigger smile to my face? The 9.2 Universal, or a 9.0 Signature?“ Problem solved.
