  1. Detective Comics 40 Made it too easy on the issue #. It did grade higher than a 3.0, fantastic eye appeal on this copy.
  2. Got a TEC coming back from CGC this week that I subbed at C2, anyone care to guess which issue and grade? Here are a couple clues as to the issue #, full page ad for Batman 1, it is a first app of a Batman villain. Graders notes are: Right Bottom Front Cover Large Lite Crease Right Top Front Cover Large Lite Crease Spine Medium Multiple Spine Split Spine Stress Lines Breaks Color Top Back Cover Chip Out Top Front Cover Crease Top Whole Book Lite Stain Through Book
  3. A 9.4 with pencil or pen writing in the title? I guess I'll never understand their grading system. I doubt Overstreet would call it any higher than Fine. I'd have to agree that that one looks overgraded. I don't see it as above a 9.0. I know, I know, you can't judge a book from a scan, but the writing and the rounded corners don't say "9.4" to me. I also wonder about how the back cover appears to be pushed up into the slab. Edited to add: I'm assuming that this isn't Diamonddave's book and he was just directing us to it. No, it's mine or was mine. The corners are not rounded, straight sub to Voldemort in April, never pressed.
  4. Highest graded Bobby Benson 14 on Comic Connect. Under-appreciated gruesome PCH cover. http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=630169
  5. Elmer paid quick and was very pleasant to deal with. I hope he enjoys showing off his new high grade Spidey key.
  6. Great buyer, no hassles, now guess which book in his sig line he bought from me.
  7. Impartial observer here but I think consult with Joey before sending it for a press. My opinion is to have it slabbed as is.
  8. There is a sucker born every minute right? I think I saw a CGC 4.0 signed by Lee for 80K and a raw VG for 30K. Sellers need to have their head examined.
  9. My place holder copy, actively looking to upgrade if anyone is interested in selling a higher grade blue label.
  10. Picked this up at C2 and subbed onsite. If anyone knows where I could get a nicer copy please PM me.
  11. Picked up this Pre-code staple right here on the boards.
  12. +1, going on 20 days since payment was made for my deluxe mystery box and I'm still waiting.
  13. It's already frozen. He apparently changed his views a while back and brought slabbed books to the Philly con a few weeks ago. He had slabs before that, 3 of them at C2E2. He'll talk your ear off about his reasons for finally geting high dollar books graded.
  14. No mention of FF 7 being remade for the PS4?
  15. Yeah, this is pretty revealing here. How about last week when I walked into a comic shop that's been around since the 80's, (I went there as a kid) and I start browsing the back issue bins, he's got a ton of stock, and he says "None of the back issues are for sale, I have to re-price everything". I had a Batman #442 in my hand, the first book I picked out before he noticed me looking, and wouldn't even let me buy it for the $8 sticker price. They did you a favor. I would gladly sell you mutilple copies of Bats 442 for $8 each. I hope that owner went on Ebay and looked at the $.99 recent sales for that book and felt like a insufficiently_thoughtful_person.
  16. am I mistaken or is that the one from facebook? Yes, it is the one from Facebook. My reason for posting it in this thread and on these boards is the hope that someone will recognize owning the book at one time or another. I'm doing this to try to prove that the book sold to an LCS recently was a restored copy. restored and the person tried to pass it off as universal That's my line of thinking anyway. Have an update for you guys. Another local guy posted on the Facebook page that he saw the book in person at the shop. When he saw it he told them it was a fake but they apparently didn't believe him. He said the book had a reproduction cover on it. They (the shop) have already sent the book to CGC for reholdering. Something tells me that when they crack the book out and open the cover they're going to find a worthless book in there. And they supposedly paid $6,000 in cash for it. $6,000 for an AF 15 4.0?? What store offers 46% of guide for a red hot Silver age mega key. They either knew it was restored and were taking a shot at it coming back blue label or are of the highest order not thinking it suspicious that they took so much less than the value of the book Ed Zachary (exactly). I was the first person in that Facebook group to call it a fake, label and holder was a dead giveaway. I'm not bragging by any means, I'm simply invested in this book being exposed for what it is. My question is, when CGC returns this book (ungraded) will they return that counterfeit label? I sincerely hope they do not.
  17. Block corbi-cindy, doesn't read descriptions and claims you sent a counterfeit comic. If she had read the description she could see ir said it was a reprint.
  18. Book should be in hand by Friday, brace yourselves. Fresh out of the box.
  19. Book should be in hand by Friday, brace yourselves.
  20. Got a major FF key coming my way, will update with pics when I have it in hand.
  21. I always regret not buying a book, it never fails.
  22. Whoever wrote that article obviously did not explore the level enough to find the shortcuts around Yarnham. You don't have to run through the entire level again and again to get to the boss. Bloodborne rewards aggressive gameplay, strategy and exploration. The author needs to learn a little patience.
