Unless my math if off I am now 56/98 or 57% complete. I Need 12 issues to have 38-98...which might be about as good as I can expect, earlier issues are so difficult to find, and there are a coupe of us actively seeking them. Oh well, the journey is the destination!

This is actually my second copy of this issue, my first was a real beater. I generally liked the time travel stories, although now they are pretty corny!
-
I can't bring myself to sell this one, I have never seen another like it!

You're right, that is a cool book. I personally really liked the reprint issues, they were usually good stories with a few nice bonus features thrown in.

Looks like Dan DeCarlo art too! -
That's a pretty amazing photo!

Happy to report thanks to Dale at SDCC I have a couple of additions to ad to project Sugar and Spike, they aren't slabbed, but they are really nice. Will post scans soon!

A year or two after planet of the apes, ape cover remained popular. I'm pretty sure you could do a whole thread on the topic.

Those cover similarities can't be a coincidence, that's pretty cool. Tarzan coming over to DC was a pretty big deal at the time.

I loved getting those, learned so much about the hobby there. My earliest issue is number 4.

Plus it's a Neal Adams, one of his better Superboy covers. You should check out the story, it's a good one for the time.

I have am amazing high grade Run of D.C. Tarzan, they are really cool books that are completely underrated.

Can you imagine? There is already price variants... that's enough!

I loved this movie. Wife and I both though it was fun and well written. -
I don't remember, but I do recall that it is the 2nd appearance of Brainiac!

Legion of Superheroes collecting thread
Silver replied to Johnny U's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed that high grade slabbed Adventures with the Legion have been fetching good bucks for quite awhile now. -
You're right, I left that out. I usually spend about close to 40% of my time looking through every dealers booth. How much I spend is dependent on if I find stuff to buy. I still go there to buy comics, I was just pointing out that I also go there for other stuff too now.

Will be my 30th year at SDCC. I still love going, I attend panels, look around, enjoy the Gaslamp scene, look at comics. Check out the movie and TV stuff. There isn't anything else like it. The con has changed, but I get to meet book writers, see tv and movie premiers, see tv stars. It's cool.

Thank you for the kind words, there are many amazing collections and collectors on these boards, it the greatest community of comic fans that there is.

That's it folks, thanks for hanging with me and celebrating the Boy of Steel and his thirty year run! if I ever get an Adventure 247 I may do a Legion of Super-Heroes complete, it's the only issue I need to have every Legion appearance from the 1950's - 1990's!

The numbering for Superboy continued as the Legion. Superboy went on to star in a new book called the New Adventures of Superboy, I have most of those, but it's not a very good series.
