  1. It's been awhile since I originally posted, as I was trying to find more info. Thanks to Canadian Mutant for posting pics in his registry set, which I have "borrowed" to illustrate the case. Below are pictures of 2 books that are labeled 14th printing (on the left) and Direct Edition (on the right). These are different copies of what I believe is the same book, as the CGC numbers shown are different between the 2 books. The CGC Label says the 14th printing is from 1988, which the indicia in the book clearly states. However, the back cover ad, on both books, shows this printing was not done in 1988 as the ad states the figures are in stores in August 2008. The action figure that this book was included in came out in 2008, for the 20th anniversary of the 1st printing, as shown in the picture in the above post. The book that was included with the action figure is the 14th printing. The UPC code is the same on both books, as shown in the photo below. Both books have the same ad on the back cover that states "In stores August 2008". So, I say that the registry is wrong. The 14th printing AND the Direct Edition are one and the same. There are currently 15 books registered as 14th Printing and 8 books registered as Direct Edition. These should all be listed as 14th Printing with an annotation of "DC Action Figure Edition".
  2. That book will not see 9.8. I think at best, if the ticks press out, would be around 9.2-9.4. I don't think the over hang will hurt the grade. Did the cleaning get rid of the white mark on the back? CGC can be a bit tough on this book. Trust me.
  3. Ironman 25 VFNM $40 Ironman 38 VF $15 - Copy B
  4. I wouldn't be shocked if Chuck has a "change of mind"; he was begged by The Millions and Millions of the Chucksters fans
  5. These people all need to be flogged in public.
  6. I've sold car parts to people in NZ and Australia and I sold a DD #1 1.8 to a guy in Thailand. Guy used to be on the board, Mr. 1.8 (I think was his name), and had some tracking issues. Thought it was going to end up lost, but, everything worked out in the end. Saw he sold it a year or so ago and the new buyer had it up on E-Bay.
  7. I wouldn't call it low balling, more like, offering a realistic price.
  8. Yes I grew up in Queens. I lived on 173rd St, right off of Jamaica Ave. Went to PS 95, IS 74 and Brooklyn Tech H.S. Left in 81, when dad decided to throw me out of the house. The first 2 bags were from the store next to the UA Quartet theater. I believe the 3rd bag was from his store near Parsons Blvd.
  9. These are ones I had when I was growing up. Don't have them anymore. They were drawn by George Perez.
  10. Not surprised the PGX books came back lower. I think most people have experienced that. I had a PGX Defenders #1 8.5 come back as CGC 7.5. Good thing I got it pretty cheap.
  11. Thanks to Faster Friends, I now have an X-Men 94 to go along with my Giant Size 1 (thought I had a scan of it, but, apparently I don't)
  12. Nope, it is only on the front cover, that I can see.
  13. After an extended absence from this club, I'm back!
  14. Here's the foreign Killing Joke books I currently have.
