  1. I understand the concept of CGC being created to facilitate transactions between strangers. Resto check, 3rd party grading, and verification of print number were crucial, especially with the explosion of Internet commerce. I would think though, one would find it difficult to argue that the CGC grade has not become valuable in and of itself. If you buy a book that is slabbed you start paying a premium over it being raw, higher as the grade increases. Is it worth the premium to buy a CGC slab from a stranger or pay a reduced price from a reputable dealer? I personally think it would be the latter. I'm not saying one is right and one is wrong, it's just yet another factor to consider when making an investment into a book and how to treat the book once you own it.
  2. I only crack Liefeld slabs, quite frankly because they are the only ones that deserve it. Giving Captain America stripper sized boobs, you should be ashamed of yourself.
  3. We went through that in the, now deleted, thread. People asked real, concrete, cogent, and reasonable questions and they were responded to with snarky, insolent, and defensive responses that were VERY short on answers and long on pot shots, cross accusations, and foggy logic. When I specifically pointed out that he was using the "Comics4Kids" banner in his auctions and right next to them he was selling Traci Lords Porno Movie posters from films where she was a minor (yes that's child porn) and that the movies that were the subject of those posters were seized by the FBI as child pornography he decided to call them "art" like the Maplethorpe images that caused a ruckus decades ago, and defended the movie posters as artwork. He blew right past how auctions run under the auspices of helping children might be hindered by selling, at the same time, posters from films that turned out to be child pornography. Runs auctions for kids, runs auctions for this stuff, side by side, no qualms, not a second thought. He actually thanked the thread, for all the hits those posters were getting. Classy, mature, and utterly and devastatingly unaware of how his words were torpedoing any shot he had at being taken seriously. The thread has been since deleted, to the benefit of Mr. Moore. Anyone who saw it probably had their jaws drop with the same "thud" that mine did. Now he wants all questions and correspondence to be completed by email only. If I were him, I would too...publicly he's taken a wrecking ball to himself, might as well do it in private too.
  4. The makes it too easy to achieve maximum snarkiness, with minimal effort.
  5. After looking for a different issue I stumbled on an invoice from this seller. I purchased a Chew 1 from him, he is based in the UK. I got my book in a timely manner and was graded as presented. I think there were three buyers in that thread. Did he initially tell you why you didn't receive the book? Did you use PayPal?
  6. Do you agree that the lot you bought for 180 dollars had a book value of 350-400 dollars? He did say he would refund money to your PayPal, yet you kicked it back to him, to come up with a solution. If you had the problem, you maybe should have suggested a way to make you whole, which in retrospect turns out to be about 10 dollars. IMO this is not a probation worthy issue.
  7. No, you don't. At least not on this board; they were gone by the time I got here They couldn’t have been gone by the time you got here because they were still in effect when I joined. I even used them on ocassion…
  8. Send blah blah a PM that you will be nominating him for the probation list.
  9. Which is a greater offense, and I'll qualify that by saying, to the board members not CGC. Selling PGX books on the sneak or selling to probation members?
  10. Why is GAcollectibles sales thread locked? Were there naughty bits removed? Why are there so many sales threads locked?
  11. If your looking for something a bit less epochally, try the new Stephen King book, "11/22/63"
  12. For the record, Branget had absolutely no idea what the hell I was talking about. ::
  13. Stop talking so much and get me my WD 33 2nd print.
  14. He took forever to send the books, but I did get them. I don't think he's on frequently. Not an excuse, just hope you guys get your books.
  15. Mark is a genuinely nice guy, bought a beautiful Ghosts from him, came fast and well packed. That sounds off, spectral eroticism. Anyway buy his stuff!
  16. I'm a moderator in my own mind. You didn't happen to be working at his comic shop and sell a book promised to someone else, did you? Nope. Young man, there are hawks and there are doves. And I'm not talking about the Steve Ditko comic heroes. (thumbs u You're the one with the leather pants.

  18. Given the track record, I can take a stab at the answer if you need me to. Will it cost me a quarter? No, but you've got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away, know when to run. Dice has invoked the "Gambler Invective" and has thus ended the argument. Congratulations.....to us all. :: I'm not sure why Roy is putting so much effort in defending Trey. Trey doesn't happen to own a pair of leather pants and a curly wig?
  19. :: And my Giants aren't even on till tonight.
  20. BS. He knows exactly what he's doing. Go to a convention and watch him operate his way through Artist's Alley. I watched him at Muchin's booth once. It was epic! I allowed the first one to pass, and you actually quoted it again and added yet another foolish comment, now with you laughing at someone with a mental handicap. Do you find it funny when someone must make the difficult journey through life with the inability to function in a manner that fits into your small small perception of what life is? Do you find it funny to see someone ,who may not understand all the nuances of social interaction, yet attempts to fit in on a board filled with pathetic individuals such as yourself? Do you find it funny to mock and offend every other member on these boards who themselves may suffer from a disability, or have a loved one who does? Do you think that your flippant attitude towards the hardship of others, boiled down to an emoticon, makes you any better? Do you think that maybe you should think before posting? *sigh* You do realize Trey Cannon is not handicapped? I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but you'll have to find another cause to get so smugly self-righteous about. But the name calling is a nice touch. I find it interesting that none of his righteous indignation was to be found in a thread where people were openly mocking a boardie who actually is mentally challenged Why don't you ask any of the numerous people that I gave a heads up to in PM so I wouldn't have to announce publicly that Justin was handicapped. Say whatever you want about me, I truly could care less, I think it's a move, and I called him on it. You on the other hand could simply place me on ignore. It would save your ears from my indignation.

  22. Fixed it for you - good gawd, I'd never post at night at all if I wasn't under the influence of Wild Turkey. Seriously, you guys aren't very entertaining when I'm sober. I tend to mix Ketel One with various other beverages to see which one works best...right now it's NyQuil. That called a dirty "south" martini. (thumbs u
  23. Is it that big of a deal if a seller has a 10,000 rating with a few negs? One would imagine that you can't please everyone. Doesn't Robojo have a 100% rating.
