  1. Anyone able to provide an update to the two lawsuits mentioned? (couldn't find anything with a quick google)
  2. CGC is not responding because they feel it will 'blow over' just like their [past tense noun / verb] up handling of the 'invisible' comics for Bad Idea. They are probably figuring out a way to place blame on Black Flag versus accepting they [past tense noun / verb] up one their main duties. Again.
  3. Good question. CGC was paid to give exact grades requested by Bad Idea. Nearly all grades from .5 to 10 (minus a 1.8) were awarded to Bad Idea's 'invisible' comic. The question posed at that time was: Was that the Bad Idea deal the first time CGC was paid to give specific grades or the first time they were caught? Here we are 8 months later and CGC has again been paid to give specific grades... History has repeated itself within the span of one year. CGC's silence on this speaks volumes...
  4. I mentioned it in back the 'invisible' comic thread a while ago, but CGC needs a PR / Media team. Pronto. These (poor) decisions are being made in pursuit of more. More money. More market share. More headlines / media attention.
  5. How hard would it take for an 'influencer' to disrupt the hobby? Buy all copies of X title off eBay / mycomicshop using various accounts. (heck we know of CGC board members with MANY different buyer / seller eBay accounts) Once there are no copies for a week or so create a video about the 'run' on X title. Then they list one using one of their multiple accounts (ACCOUNT 1) 2 two minutes after. Then ACCOUNT 2 does a BIN for super high price almost immediately. Then ACCOUNT 3 - INFINITY lists theirs with increasing prices. Then they dump them.
  6. In light of the current grading story...let us revisit this one...
  7. Countdown to generic corporate response... "This past week has been an eyeopener. We made some missteps and are developing an action plan to correct them. We have decided to take the monies from this misstep and donate them to a non-profit. In closing - we hear you, we are learning, and we will do better."
  8. Another popular acetate cover Marvels #1 - ONE 9.9 out of 464 graded copies Marvels #2 - NO copies over 9.8 (251 total graded) Marvels #3 - TWO 9.9s out of 332 graded copies Marvels #4 - NO copies over 9.8 (359 total graded)

  10. Most, if not all, stakeholders knew CGC would say / do the wrong thing after being asked questions about this issue.
  11. See the clickbait headline now - "Disney is now anti: small business, God, and the USA"
  12. CGC should have learned their lesson after getting paid to 'grade' invisible comics. But...greed got the best of them... CBCS throwing shade...
  13. Oh snap. That's quick compared to the OVER TWO WEEKS for a response about being paid to 'grade' invisible comics. There are still very valid questions left unanswered by CGC in that thread. Specifically - https://boards.cgccomics.com/topic/501362-cgc-grading-invisible-comics/?do=findComment&comment=12121529
  14. Marvel Milestone Edition: X-Men #1 - Top 10 Book Purchased raw in 2012. First things first, I understand that Jack Kirby's signature on the Dynamic Forces / QVC books is contested. I choose to believe that it is authentic until proven otherwise. Purchased raw from asteroid-comix via a sales thread. They shipped this book to me separately from the other books so that I could submit it on time for an upcoming / next Stan Lee signing. Desert Wind Comics handled the signing. Determining this book's monetary value for insurance purposes has been a thorn in my side for years. Not only are asking prices on eBay so high that the comic doesn't sell, BUT available copies are only qualified green & yellow labels. I know, 'first world' problem.
  15. Scrolled through all the pages to ensure I had never posted in this thread before... Signed by Stan Lee, Todd McFarlane, and David Michelinie Signed by Kurt Busiek, Tony Harris, Card Nord, and Dave Stewart Signed by Louise Simonson and Bernie Wrightson Signed by Robert Kirkman, Erik Larsen, Rob Liefeld, Todd McFarlane, Whilce Portacio, Marc Silvestri, and Jim Valentino Sketches by Erik Larsen and Rob Liefeld Signed by John Beatty and Mike Zeck Sketch by Mike Zeck Signed by Chris Evans, Anthony Russo, and Joe Russo Signed by Mark Brooks and Carrie Fisher Signed by Fiona Staples and Brian K. 16. Presume they got their info from this article - https://bleedingcool.com/comics/dinesh-shamdasani-looking-to-buy-back-valiant/ Former CEO Dinesh Shamdasani, who was forced out by the current owners was asked on Twitter, in response to this news, if he wanted to buy a comic book company on the cheap. Shamdasani replied "Been on it all week."
  17. Posted this back in April whilst writing about Batman Adventures: Mad Love in the journal section - https://boards.cgccomics.com/blogs/entry/5287-2022-top-50-aka-my-current-personal-collection/?do=findComment&comment=6479 "Paul Dini was originally scheduled to appear at the same convention, but ended up dropping out. Maybe one day CGC can set up a signing event..." Needless to say I have already packed up my copy to send out tomorrow to add Dini's signature and remarque.
  18. The number of sold copies of Mind MGMT #1 (2012) has increased today.
  19. Won't Zaslov think of the people that spec'd hard on Batgirl / Batman '89 / Firefly? What're they to do now...? /s
  20. Someone posted their copy on Reddit. The foil cover 'example' image from bigtimecollectibles does not appear to match the reality of the cover. https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbookcollecting/comments/wankr1/the_artist_mico_suayan_got_the_pair_of_1s_of/
  21. Incredible Hulk #340 Purchased graded (but not signed) in 2014. As mentioned in my Amazing Spider-Man #300 post, Incredible Hulk #340 was my 2nd most desired book when I got back into collecting in 2010. This copy was purchased as a 9.6 Universal via a VCC. It was priced below market value. I grabbed it even though I am not really a fan of newsstand copies. As the years went on I realized I wanted a to submit it for a Todd McFarlane Signature Series opportunity. Glad I finally got it done, but honestly upset the book came back a 9.4 afterward. You win some, you lose some...
  22. 23. Apologies in advance if there is a topic discussing this already. Skimmed and didn't see one. Also didn't see an email come through from CGC about this, even after receiving numerous Signature Series emails. Perhaps this announcement was made at SDCC? What does the 'CGC Collector Hive Mind' think of this? https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/10414/CGC-BIG-TIME-COLLECTIBLE-EXCLUSIVE/
  24. Incredible Hulk #181Purchased already graded in 2019.I purchased this book and another (Fantastic Four #48) with monies from eBay sales. Wolverine is my second favorite Marvel character after Spider-Man.The goal was to pick up some low grade keys that would appreciate in value over time.
  25. That is an impressive collection of Copper and Modern newsstand 9.8s. Interesting to see some bidders have pushed books to near eBay completed prices (SW books) with 8 days remaining; whilst others are probably waiting to snipe.
