  1. OMG, what have I done. I've opened up a Pandoras box to a new addiction.....Baker covers.
  2. Ever get on ebay and just randomly look around until something pops out at you? Sometimes I put a random bid on something just for the heck of it. If I win it.... awesome. I wasn't looking for these two comics but I thought they were cool so I put what I considered were modest bids, and I won them.
  3. I don't really seek out Baker covers, but I saw this one on ebay (mislisted) and had to pick it up because I thought the art was awesome. Is this rare? I don't think I've ever seen one before.
  4. Ask and ye shall receive: http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/04/26/deblanc-and-fiore-come-into-focus-in-new-preacher-photos/ Yup, that's what I thought. Doesn't one of the two of them have the pleasure of waking the SOK? That'll be fun.
  5. Yes, this is the one time you want them to take their time.
  6. Hmmmmm..... in the comics I never thought of Hela as Evil. She didn't do things out of hate. She was more Neutral. She is death. Death is inevitable.
  7. So who are the 2 guys that have been following Genesis? Are they Angels or are they the Grail. Or something new?
  8. http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2016/05/preacher-tulip-ruth-negga Total garbage and what I'd expect from Vanity Fair OK, so they changed Tulip to make her tougher. What's the problem? I don't see how it changes the Preacher story at all. Truthfully, of the 3 main characters that were introduced in the premiere, I think I liked Tulip the best even though she was the most different from the comics. I think Jesse & Cassidy are going to grow on me, but it was Tulip that got my attention right off the bat.
  9. Maybe it was the subtitles. I knew someone was going to say that! NO, that's not what I meant! I didn't even need subtitles to understand Arseface, I could understand everything he said. In fact, I could understand him so well that I wondered if they were giving him subtitles as an homage to the comics. Perhaps the actor playing Arseface should tone down his consonants. After all he doesn't have any teeth or hard palette to create the consonants, but I could sure understand him clearly. If they're going to have subtitles for him then they should let him just talk with vowels. It would be funnier.
  10. I was slightly underwhelmed by that first episode, but I did like many moments. I appreciate that they're taking their time with the characters, so I think this is a series where we have to cut them some slack for a few episodes. One observation I made: I could understand Arseface better than I could understand Cassidy, and that shouldn't happen. I don't know if it was the accent or that he was mumbling or that they didn't have him mic'd very well, but I struggled to understand a lot of what Cassidy said. I did have my volume slightly turned down because my wife had just gone to bed, but I could hear everyone else just fine. I'd like to know what someone thought of the premiere who has never read the comics. Also, why are they going to have "Talking Preacher"? We don't even know if this is going to be a hit yet.
  11. To me, this is good news. They're taking their time. That means we can savor this slowly.
  12. But, but, but..... it's the Enchantress. Me wants the Enchantress.
  13. Landshark, I really enjoyed your story. That was a fun read. Thanks for sharing, and congrats on getting such a gorgeous copy of Hulk 1.
  14. I love both but Cap 1 hands down! I'm actually shocked the voting is as close as it is.
  15. I'm sure she's coming. They just haven't cast her yet. Can you introduce the Executioner without the Enchantress?
  16. Nice.... they got the "Time of the Preacher" music in there. But I guess that was a given.
  17. I think also that it`s amazing that Deadpool so far has beaten Civil War and BvS domestically! Also who knows where Deadpool would have ended up if they had the China audience? Deadpool is clearly the biggest winner of 2016! here's a little help instead of comparing apples to hand grenades. Cap: CW is $60MM ahead of DP after the same # of days of release. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/showdowns/chart/?view=daily&id=superhero2016.htm What really jumps out at me with this data is Deadpool's Revenue Ratio. 13.1!!!! I wish I could have invested in that movie. If Ryan Reynolds had any production money in that movie, he just made a budtload of money. The 1989 Batman movie too! Impressive Revenue Ratio.
  18. Seriously, only 100 yards from my townhome in Buford GA is this abandoned church from 1860. The area I live in has exploded with townhomes and subdivisions. All available land has been bought up and converted, so now this church sticks out like a sore thumb. Some of the windows are broken, the paint is peeling off in the worst way, the roof is sinking. It's a mess, but it's still standing. I love it. And now, every time I pass by it, all I can think about is Preacher. It looks like the Anville church to me. I feel like renting it out for the premiere, putting a huge TV screen in there, have an open bar, and have a kick@ss Preacher opening night party. Who's with me?
  19. The Rock would make an Awesome Doc Savage. I love all of DS's buddies that help him solve the crimes. Giant Size Doc Savage 1 was one of the first comics I ever remember reading. That comic got me reading the books.
  20. What's the story with that Lady Luck pin? That's pretty cool.
  21. Amazing that the YK is actually smoking on that Postcard. I mean... he is just a kid, right? How old is he supposed to be?
  22. Has there been any word if John Wayne will make an appearance or are they going to delete that whole plot point. I always enjoyed his conversations with John Wayne.
  23. The tattoo on his back? Texas Ranger Badge in a horse shoe? Mixed with a lot of scars.
  24. Easter Egg in that preview: Did you see the bottle of "RatWater" Whiskey? That was the Saint of all Killers on the label.
  25. That price just boggles my mind. It isn't even a complete back cover. When I first posted the link here the bid was $122. When you posted it was around $2500. As of now it is back at $122 . One guy must've cancelled his bids and brought it back down or something. . But doesn't that mean the first guys bid is a little shy of $2500? Yeah, someone must have wanted to find out how high the top bid was.
