That shot of his 1st Astral Projection was pretty cool. Fingers crossed for a great movie. I love Dr Strange

You can tell the loose page is married because it's a different PQ (hope it's not from a reprint). Since it's only one page, it means the ad page is most likely missing from the other side of the wrap (you can even see where a page is ripped out at the spine in the 3rd to last photo). Big chunk missing from the mummy page. If this were a perfect coverless copy I might think there was a chance it was legit, but this copy is a rag. I just don't see this being legit.

Missing a big piece of a page. Something doesn't feel right or someone got hosed..... Yeah, there's no way that's legit. That's why I said $2k-$3k. Which is STILL an amazing amount of money.

I'm really warming up to this. I thought Seth Rogen would be the kiss of death for this show but from everything I'm seeing recently, it looks like they actually got the tone of Preacher correct.

I bought the 1st 3 tpbs last year and ended up losing interest or getting bogged down before I even got to the 3rd tpb. It's a story that requires a little more concentration than many comics that are out there, and for whatever reason I was distracted enough that I didn't give it a good chance and I dismissed it. However.... recently I have been flying back and forth to NewMexico and decided to grab the Tpbs and read them on the flights. OMG, I am SO hooked on this fabulously written story! And obviously the artwork is superb. I just bought the next 2 tpbs and am eagerly awaiting them so I can catch up on this series. If you haven't read this series yet, pick it up. Excellent!!!!

Once you join GPA you will agree with everyone else here that the OPG has lost it's relevance in regards to mega keys. I still buy it every year though. I has great "market update" articles and it still works as a "guide".

The thought crossed my mind. If you have enough money, the price point of something you want ceases to matter. I'm not saying this is what happened here, but it's possible that the buyer was going to own this book no matter what the hammer was. If the Billionaire is passionate about the hobby he probably even hangs out here on the boards. If I had unlimited resources and had a passion for comics I'd be scooping up all kinds of high grade rarity. How are any of us going to compete. I've been getting out bid on a ton of GA comics on ebay recently. Some comics are going for insane prices. I had a seller of many comics I was bidding on tell me the comics I'm bidding on are all being scooped up by one bidder.

Hmmmm... I don't know. Don't you think that price was a little disappointing? This comic has always had that stigma of being a non superhero comic. The last 2 GPA 7.0s average $9400, so for this to go for $7700 after both the Antman movie coming out and the anticipation of Antman in Civil War.... I don't know, it seems like a big disappointment. And I'm a guy who owns a 6.5 and wants it to do well.

Maybe the Billionaire scooped up both.

To be fair, the Showcase 4 auction doesn't end until tomorrow night. That 9.8 probably started as a 1.8-2.5. The buyer is going to have HUGE remorse.

It's really low grade but I like it. Kids hanging a "Jap" (pardon the expression). You just don't see that on a cover very often.

CC Archie 1 1.8 went for $25,500!!! What a price. It even had a little CT and glue on the cover. 33 bids but I don't know if it was just 2 guys duking it out at the end? Archie is still going strong.

Just saw the movie and I really liked it a lot. Perfect, no, but I really liked it. To me the movie simply didn't know how to wrap itself up correctly (in a neat little bow). I was riveted for the first 3/4 of the movie and then things got a little wonky. The movie does not deserve the bad reviews it seems to be getting. I took my step daughter and her boyfriend and they both liked it a lot too. One more thing. Holly Hunter may have had the best moment of acting in the whole movie. She was superb.
