  1. Anyone catch the "Green Hand of Adonais" easter egg in the final credits? It happened fast, but I know I saw the green hand (was referenced earlier in the movie too).
  2. Really enjoyed it. They nailed the time period. Lots of fun posters to look at in the backgrounds and the music score was great. Some fairly decent acting too.
  3. That was hilarious. Cassidy's characterization is the closest to the comics so far.
  4. Nice episode tonight. I genuinely liked it from start to finish. Nice pacing, Nice back story. Favorite episode so far. Cassidy was great. The rest of the cast was great too. 1st time this season that I didn't want the episode to end. I'm not sure what the viewership numbers are like, but I think anyone trying out the show tonight might have been hooked.
  5. http://www.ebay.com/itm/262510029503?rmvSB=true Why? Why 2 sigs? When 1 messy sig has not messed up the comic enough, have him sign it again with another messy sig. Heck why stop there? Get 10 messy sigs.
  6. Tonight's episode was the best so far IMHO. The beginning was insanely fun. I do have to admit I was laughing at the fight scene that started the show.
  7. As tortuous and gratuitous as Ennis can be in his writing, I don't think he would have sent Eugene to Hell. Other people yes, but not Eugene. Jesse lost his temper, I understand that, but certainly he knows what he did, and he knows where Eugene is now, so I would think all his efforts would be to find/free Eugene right now. If Jesse simply goes about his business right now, he is definitely NOT "one of the good guys", and I really don't know why I should keep watching the show.
  8. Just finished watching episode 5. I'm just not liking the direction this is going. When I read the comics I always thought of Jesse, Cassidy, and Tulip as my friends. I liked the three of them. I cared about what happened to them in the story. After 5 episodes I'm not sure that I like any of the 3 of them. The one I like the least might be Jesse, and he's the one we're supposed to like the most. After what he did to Eugene, he better turn this thing around really quick or no one is going to like him. The show will crash and burn very fast if the viewers can't stand the Preacher. I find it ironic that the young Eugene understands the concept of "choice" better than the Preacher.
  9. I highly doubt it will be canceled before a second season. Now that Game of Thrones is is over Preacher might gain some traction.
  10. Something I really love about Baker (besides his beautiful women) is the attention to detail when it comes to "folds of clothing". Folds of clothing can be very difficult to represent, especially when the cloth is stretched in an action pose or across the contours of a body. Baker is a master at this.
  11. Already up to $2,364 with over 7 days left. Quite a bit of Schill bidding. Also, it's missing a page. I think i'd avoid this one.
  12. Just watched episode 4. I understood 95% of what Cassidy said so that's a victory right there. I'm becoming interested in the characters and what's going on. I'm not going to say I'm "hooked" but I'm really close. Lots of delightful quirky stuff going on in this show.
  13. I just saw this house ad in my copy of Kid Movie Comics 11 from 1946. Is that drawing supposed to be Stan Lee at the top? He was the editor of this comic. At the bottom it even says to send in the Coupon to Stan Lee. It got me wondering if this is the 1st drawing of Stan in a comic? When is the 1st drawing of Jack Kirby in a comic?
  14. This one is cool because it has an illustration of the editor "Stan Lee" up at the top. And at the bottom it says to send your responses in to Stan Lee. This is from Kid Movie Comics 11 (only issue) Apparently no one sent in the forms, because this only lasted 1 issue.
  15. It looks like they're weaving Jesse into Tulip's hitman history. Hmmmm.... Showing Jesse standing over a dead security guard is problematic. If it turns out he's a cold blooded murderer I won't care for the character. There's other options....like when the Sandman tells Peter Parker that he didn't choose to kill Uncle Ben....it was an accident and the gun went off. Clearly they have Jesse involved in some sort of criminal shenanigans tho, otherwise Tulip wouldn't be hassling him to do those things again. If he's involved with "Criminal Shenanigans", is the thought to "be one of the good guys" a new revelation for him? I'm not sure I like this angle for Jesse's past.
  16. It looks like they're weaving Jesse into Tulip's hitman history. Hmmmm....
  17. Not a house ad, but I found this ad so funny I wanted to share it. From a GA Crime comic.
  18. Yes, pleeease people, let's give it at least 4 episodes. My biggest criticism is how they're rolling out the show. WTF? Premiere and then 2 weeks before the 2nd episode. Really stupid.
  19. Two more... Ok, I'm officially salivating right now. I have not seen any of these 3 issues before. They are incredible. I may need to go after issue 1 & 3 now. That will be my start. I think #2 is valued the highest, but all 3 look great. Which one of those 3 do you guys like the best?
  20. All of them except one. Who are you? Yogi Bera?
