  1. Maybe this "goofy Lex" is an act for the public, and then somewhere towards the end of the movie we see him drop that persona to reveal the "bad serious (possibly bald) Lex".
  2. $9k-$10k (and yet the last 3.5 went for $6800 )
  3. The prices have doubled on eBay overnight for but it now. I bought a 9.9 from CL about 4 years ago for under a grand. I sold it 2 years later on eBay for over grand. I decided to sell because the registry jumped from 2 existing copies to 5 existing copies. The buyer tried to flip it immediately after purchasing it via a 7-day auction on eBay and lost a couple of hundred. I would set a BIN price w/ BO option and see where it goes from there. Now is the time to sell. Prices will drop quickly. DC books do not seem to hold value as long as the Marvel books do. Since you sold yours 2 years ago the amount of 9.8s on the census has tripled, BUT there are still only five 9.9s.
  4. If cave trolls had heat vision, LOTR would have been a much shorter movie.
  5. Yet another terrible result for Voldemort. -J. The 4.5 is lower than any sale on GPA in more than a year. The 6.5 is 20%+ below the last CGC sale. Even factoring in a 10% decline to account for some overall back sliding in price for the book (which may or may not be a trend) that's still 10%+ below a comparable CGC slab. -J. I sent 5 comics to V last year to try out the service and now I'm regretting it. I may just crack them all open and send to CGC. Why are people still sending to V when it seems like prices are consistently lower?
  6. Ugly wrap likely due to a cruddy press-job. Definitely wouldn't pay that much for it... You think that wrap is the result of a bad press?? I think it's just gotta be a bad wrap. If I wanted a high grade Hulk 1 I wouldn't go after this one.
  7. Wow, simply amazing! Is that a record for a coverless copy? I think it was just 2 years ago that I bought a nice remaindered copy for less than that here on the boards.
  8. That's difficult to answer. Seems to be all over the place. In many of the lower grades (4.0 3.5 2.5 2.0) prices spiked last Summer and then took a serious nose dive (3.5 went for $6800 in Aug). Maybe $2500-$3500 a point (although 1.0s are going for $4500)
  9. Most likely chips filled and then removed but I think the glue notation hurts it more. Shouldn't the ragged removal of chips equate to a trim? If you look closely at the right edge you can tell that extra material has been removed (more than the original marvel chipping). Looking at this comic it makes me wonder.... if you found a purple labeled AF15 with a microtrimmed right edge, and you chipped up the right edge to look like this one.... would you end up geting a blue label?
  10. Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston & More Join The Cast Of WONDER WOMAN WOW! That's a great pic. What a gorgeous woman.
  11. I agree. I love the DD & GOT Title sequences and rarely fast forward thru them. The title sequence for JJ is ok I suppose, but starting with the 2nd episode I'm already fast forwarding thru it.
  12. I just watched the 1st episode and really liked it, but my wife turned to me and said "I didn't like it at all, it's not my cup of tea". I don't think she wants to watch anymore of it with me. She loved Daredevil though. I know JJ is dark, but can anyone who has watched more episodes tell me if I should talk her into watching more episodes? Even DD took a couple episodes before it really hit full stride (that scene at the end of episode 2 is what hooked me).
  13. I thought that price was WAY too high. And then I saw that the last two 3.5s sold for $15,500.
  14. The 7.0 AF15 in the HA auction is really nice: http://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/superhero/amazing-fantasy-15-marvel-1962-cgc-fn-vf-70-cream-to-off-white-pages/a/7152-91162.s?id=13300433
  15. Has anyone taken a good look at the 4.0 AF15 in the heritage auction? I noticed it's a copy that's had color touch removal (has the telltale scrapes). I assumed that it had Marvel Chipping but upon closer inspection I've determined that it's not Marvel Chipping at all... the free edge has had a ton of CT scraped off so that it "looks" like marvel chipping. Because of the amount of CT scraped off I am simply amazed that this received a 4.0 Blue. I'm thinking this one won't even come close to GPA averages for 4.0 (although nothing should surprise when AF15s are involved). Here's the link http://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/amazing-fantasy-15-marvel-1962-cgc-vg-40-cream-to-off-white-pages/a/7152-91164.s
  16. The owner needs to have Stan do a Cockroach sketch over the tape pull and then resubmit it.
  17. Harvey I am approaching it as the un-initiated might. The vast majority of the potential audience for this show have not read the comic and will not read the comic. From that standpoint the trailer failed to reach out and grab you the way Daredevil did, IMO. Very little of the nature of the character or the themes involved you say are in the series came out in the trailer. The observation is similar to what many have said about the Preacher trailer (and they have a point as well). Are dissenting opinions that are respectfully stated not allowed in this thread for some reason? -J. I'm a huge Preacher fan and (now that I've read Alias) a huge jessica Jones fan. I hated the Preacher Trailer and am super worried about where that show is headed. I have loved all the Jessica Jones spots so far and am super excited about it. I feel the JJ spots are capturing the mood. The Preacher trailer had nothing to do with the series I remembered reading.
  18. Not the best Marvel Movie, and not the worst Marvel Movie. Very solid though, and definitely enjoyable to watch. I think from a financial standpoint, it exceeded expectations.
  19. +1 I, like many, had no idea who Jessica Jones was when Marvel made the Netflix Line-up announcement. I know & love DD, PM, & IF, but who the heck is Jessica? So.... I bought the TPBs. What a great read!!! So well written. She's one of my faves now. And it looks like Netflix has really captured the essence of the comic quite well. It's going to be as big a hit as Daredevil was! You can take that to the bank.
  20. Has China's Box Office ever done better than US domestic Box Office on an american movie? Antman will not do better in China, but with the amount of money it's generating over there it looks like some day the right movie might do better.
  21. If Ennis gives it a thumbs up I think we can be hopeful. (but I DID NOT like that trailer)
  22. Bradley is in BIG trouble if that is true
