  1. Not if stored properly. Avoid temperature swings and environments either too moist or too dry.
  2. While not meaning to invalidate or be dismissive of Overstreet grading standards, if the intent is to have your books graded by CGC I’d familiarize myself more so with CGC grading. Admittedly CGC doesn’t provide their standards in a nice, orderly list(or at all), but you can see tendencies such as CGC being far tougher on corners than OPG is, for example. Maybe post a few of your books(in varying condition) in the “Buddy Can You Spare A Grade?” forum and see how your grading matches up with members here on the boards.
  3. The thread title is wilding misleading and wholly incorrect after hearing the details imo.
  4. Thanks. I saw that. Just thought it odd to skip from #1 to #48 like it did.
  5. Just an FYI, a seller on Etsy is offering up a copy of Incredible Hulk #181 CGC 9.6 for a too-good-to-be-true price. This is the same book comicmylars sold on eBay several days ago for $19,500. Looks like he set up the account solely for the purpose of this scam. https://www.etsy.com/listing/947231095/hulk-181-cgc-96-1974-1st-wolverine-key?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=&ref=sc_gallery-1-3&plkey=5bd67c5c2e1d701ba6b06cabd9911944413bff51%3A947231095

  7. You’ll get more eyes on this if you post over here: https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/forum/27-comic-book-grading-and-restoration-issues/ Also it may help to see some ”before” photos if you have any.
  8. This thread is the fastest “turnaround” time I’ve ever seen for a CGC admin to answer a question on these boards. Under four minutes! Bravo!
  9. A seller sent a bonus Jughead & a “Thank You” card with a hand-written message inside. Stuff like this makes my day.
  10. That looks like another mock-up. The back cover should be an ad for Superman model kits.
  11. There’s conversation about this one page back in this very thread.
  12. Looks like the book sold by jhcomics. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tales-to-Astonish-99-F-1968-Marvel-comic-Hulk-/233311863442?hash=item3652788292%3Ag%3AjLAAAOSwEDhdRe2d&nma=true&si=c8bdupnryKvk3qZE2jRRTUVft5o%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  13. Received some SA Wonder Woman and Archie from one of Bird’s recent sales threads. Easy communication, promptly shipped, books safely and securely packed, & accurately graded.. Smooth transaction all around. Thank you!
  14. Welcome to the boards! Just an FYI, there’s multiple threads asking this very question, plus this one: Hope this helps.
  15. I followed your link and search box #1 works fine for me to search the census, and box #2 to search “CGC home” works as well. Not sure if this is the same thing that’s not working for you?
  16. Grader’s Notes aren’t a detailed accounting of every flaw or blemish. Some books don’t have Grader’s Notes at all. I think you’re ahead of the game in the sense that CGC listed flaws they absolutely downgraded for, so it’s not a complete mystery. If you disagree with the grade(s) given, that’s another thing entirely. Post some images and get opinions and feedback. Welcome to the boards & hope you enjoy your time here.
  17. If you’re asking “how to figure out condition?” I’d suggest spending some time in the Spare A Grade? and the Grading & Restoration threads. As for page quality, most generally would prefer white or white to off-white over tan, cream, etc., but that’s really on a case by case basis as not every book exists in a “fresh off the press” condition depending on a variety of factors including age, storage conditions, type of paper printed on, etc. https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/forum/42-hey-buddy-can-you-spare-a-grade/ https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/forum/27-comic-book-grading-and-restoration-issues/
  18. The “A” is the edition without a barcode. “AP” is polybagged with no barcode, “AU” is bagged, no barcode The “B” for this issue is the version with a barcode with the “P” and “A” referring to bagged and unbagged respectively. Yes, the “1Silver” is a different colored version of the cover. For the Marvel Zombies, the letter refers to the different printing and different cover variant. The letters don’t always mean the same thing from comic to comic, but are assigned sequentially to differentiate between different covers that may share the same issue number or are exclusives made for Dynamic Forces, NY ComicCon, etc. An example to look at is Archie(2015). The first issue has 32 different covers and there’s only 26 letters in the alphabet, so there’s further descriptors on several books(there’s a “1B” and a “1BAM” for instance, and neither was polybagged). Hope I didn’t confuse things. It’s just different ways to denote multiple versions of the same issue number.
