  1. There's no squarebound comics with MJI's, so no GS Spidey #4. I'm not familiar with the history of MJI's in magazine size comics, but Sandflea mentioned having a run of Marvel Preview #'s 16-25 with them, so I suppose it's possible #2 has one as it was published after the inserts started appearing in the comics.
  2. Nice to hear your remembrances of an early con and how the Superman #18 caught your eye and has held your interest to this day. Looking forward to the next installment.
  3. If I'm understanding you correctly the colors on Daredevil (for example) could change month to month, they wouldn't always be blue, or Avengers wouldn't always be black. Also, I'm not aware that we've seen an instance where a particular comic has more than one color insert for a particular month.
  4. No I always knew it was a more sought after comic and since I was told to at least consider it I did and found 13 copies. What makes me not like is it's data and value is inconsistent and all over the place. You'll find FF #112 has a larger market.
  5. Who else would have that sort of inventory other than a storefront or website that closed down? Maybe it's books that have been in storage for ten years?
  6. I find this interesting and I have to wonder if Chuck may be reading this thread. I decided to go back and check the prices on the books I originally looked at when I began this thread. They were as follows.... Action #244 in Fair for $123 (minus 60%) and the total cost is $49.20 Tonight that book is now listed at $30.00 Action #244 in Good for $245 (minus 60%) for $98.00 Now - $60 Action #246 in Fair for $123 (minus 60%) for $49.20 Now - $30 Action #246 in Good for $245 (minus 60%) for $98.00 Now - $60 Action #249 in VG for $441 (minus 60%) for $176.40 Now - $120 Action #250 in Good for $240 (minus 60%) for $96.00 Now - $60 I will say this is a step in the right direction. The Barney The Bear comic (Spire) Chuck used as an example in his "pricing strategy" video from last year still hasn't seen a price reduction. Maybe they haven't gotten all the way up to the "B's" quite yet.
  7. Like it always does I guess. I asked for the manager and gave him my resume. McDonalds takes resumes? I worked at KFC years ago and all I did was fill out an application The McDonalds in my area always have Now Hiring signs, and all you do is fill out an application. You're not applying at Microsoft, McDonalds doesn't need a resume. Fifty bucks says he never even walked in the door. FWIW, I was friendly with a McD's Asst. Mgr. a couple years ago and his location only takes resumes. If they like the resume they call you for an interview, if they are considering you, then they give you an application.
  8. Very nice. What Archie book are you looking at? #4 This is interesting. Would this be from the original series or the more recent Mark Waid reboot?
  9. Are you able to give us a hint as to the other comic you're thinking about? Yes. An Archie comic. Thanks. If it's the Betty & Me #16 that should move for you(price and condition will obviously factor in). The betty and me 16 is the comic I already bought and have I'm talking about another archie comic. That one is pretty hard to find MCS has a couple copies starting at $1.35.
  10. Just trying to figure out which Archie comic he's got his eye on.

  13. Are you able to give us a hint as to the other comic you're thinking about? You think he's going to give away that kind of information for free? I'd be willing to paypal him 40 cents for that info.

  15. The Ground Hog did it, in the Library with the lead pipe. Oakman says it was Colonial Mustard in the library WITH THE CANDLESTICK! Now I don't know which to believe.
  16. That particular eBay-er was mentioned here a few months ago. Post #9322454.
  17. I have heard of the MasterWorks" collection but I was under the impression it was not all inclusive. I have also seen them to be rather pricey. I tried wiKi but unlike alot of other comic titles it is really not giving me much information on where to find consecutive reprints. MW would be the most desirable thing I can find at this point. Does anyone know what would be the best electronic source? Or are there multiple options? Thanks. I'm not understanding what you're referring to in saying "not all inclusive". There's no LOC's, Bullpen Bulletins, etc., but all the story pages and covers are present. Try this link: Marvel Masterworks Library Look into the Marvel Unlimited site for digital options.
  18. Maybe try to find the "Masterworks" reprint editions? The "X-Men" titled books start with vol. 1 and reprints #1-10, vol. 2 reprints #11-21, vol. 3 reprints #22-31, etc. The "Uncanny X-Men" titled Masterworks books start with vol. 1 and reprint #94-100 plus GSX #1, vol. 2 reprints #101-110, and so on.
  19. I'd think any complete collection of BA Marvel Westerns should include Avengers #142 & 143. Both covers by Gil Kane as well.
  20. In my experience, between 5 and 10% have the insert. does anyone know definitively? Somehow that seems high, but then I don't know how or where they were distributed. I don't recall ever coming across one.
  21. Nerfherder posts as "Wally's Comics". Has been for quite some time.
