  1. Can you hashtag me when you start with the racial slurs and homophobia like said previous winners. :wishluck: Jim
  2. Why would you be screwed? If it doesn't arrive, you would just cancel the money order and get your money back from the bank or the post office, wherever you got it from. It might take some time, but they'd run a trace, make sure it wasn't cashed and give you your money bank. All would not be lost. Jim
  3. Kolin bought a a high end book from me. He made an offer and I said I was still going to shop it around for a bit. About two weeks later I asked him if he still wanted the book and he did. A very serious and committed buyer. Would sell to him in a second. Jim
  4. Agreed that the Goblin suit is not the greatest...but the chemistry between Dafoe and Tobey translated to the near perfect climax of a superhero movie. The only one that rivals it in my opinion is Cap/WS vs Tony in Civil War. Jim
  5. The one thing I have learned most from this thread is that I need to watch Spidey 2 again. I've never ever thought it was better than the first Spidey movie, but it's thrown around here as being in the top 3 of all time. It's been a number of years, need to watch the entire first trilogy again and see if I missed something. Jim
  6. I sell 1000-5000 $1.00 books a week. I currently have 200,000+ in my $1.00 book inventory. My point was the Spideys weren't moving at $1.00 per right now. That's all. Jim
  7. AF #15 is a hot book...have a 4.0 and 6.0, gimme 40k and 60k and they are yours JJ
  8. Greggy: Those are all priced at $1.00 each, and it's how I've been able to move 250,000 books at $1.00 each over the last couple of years. Doesn't sound like much, but starting out with nothing but 200 long boxes at $1.00 each a couple of years ago and has now turned into if you walk into Guardian right now, there are AF 15's, Hulk #1's, Avengers #1's, X-Men #1's multiple 181's etc etc on the wall and available, definitely something no other LCS in the GTA (a population of 7,000,000 people) has. Friendliness and leaving meat on the bone for the next guy has taken me further than I could have possibly imagined in a very short time. Now back to CA heating up...is Damage Control taking off now that they have been "featured" in the MCU? Jim
  9. Thanks for stopping by the shop today, it was good to meet you. Just got back from the movie myself, and was very pleased with it. I'm glad Spidey is back in the MCU where he belongs. Jim
  10. The most telling story of a broken heart is Doug Flutie and his parents, who both died of heart attacks within an hour of each other. Truly tragic. Jim
  11. Available any day of the week for a $1.00, 70 cents for my southern brothers. I sold an X-Men #12 CGC 8.0, a good run of Strange Tales as well as ASM's out of the shop today, but nobody bought a single copy of the Spidey #1 for a dollar. Jim
  12. Holy ....did we just go back in time to 2010??? Jim
  13. Was it a $7,500 book? I bet you the process isn't as quickly expedited when somebody is going to be out $7,500 Jim
  14. Two more days til the most anticipated movie of the year for me Jim
  15. I am an Avengers guy and only collect the first appearances of Avengers...so I need an X-Men #4 pretty bad Jim
  16. Agreed FF #48 is the first thought that came to me as well but maybe that is the old school in us thinking/talking. Now that I really think about it, it might be FF #52. It sells for more, the character has a prominent place in the MCU (and that's important in today's comic world), he's really the first black superhero. It's a pretty big book, and if things keep going like they have the last five years. The FF is going to be kept being left behind and an entire generation won't have a clue what an FF and Silver Surfer even are. Jim
  17. If you are ever in the greater Toronto area, come check out our warehouse where we have 200,000 comic books for a $1.00 each (approx 70 cents US) and the largest selection of key books in a city of 7,000,000 people. The first three pics are some examples of our $1.00 books and what can be found in the bins. The last pic is one of our " key " walls. PM if you are in the area and would like our address. Thanks for looking. Jim
  18. Sorry we didn't get a deal done chefkv...lets close this thread for now and try something else. Jim
  19. Those two raw copies did not sell. I did sell a CGC NM #87 9.6 on Sunday and Eric sold the other guys 9.4 of #87 Jim
  20. Good thing you are a pretty good comic dealer, because photography is nowhere in your future.
  21. You can carry $9,999 in cash before you have to declare it at the border. And even then you are just declaring it, they don't do anything to you. If you brought 100k every other day, that would be a different story and raise some red flags. They've asked me before why do I need so much cash to go to a comic convention? I said cuz I drink...alot. They usually start laughing and waive me through. Jim
