  1. Alright, I'm going to say it, Charlie Adlard's Rick looks like Charlie Adlard. He drew himself as Rick. There, I said it.
  2. Obviously you haven't read Letter 44. i have but if you want my review of the series pm me. all i will briefly say is this, for a comic to get my money and loyal readership both art and story need to be quite good. Well then you don't buy much then these days. And yes the art is at best average I agree its the weakness of the book. Funny cause I truly believe we are in a golden age for art and writing! But I would also rather gaze at Jim Woodring art over Jim Lee's so you might not want to trust anything I say or write. Yeah Jim Woodring is great. But you know who's better? Frank R Paul, Alex Schomburg, and Bob Powell. People think the art is bad on Letter 44, you should check out this other little book, I think some dude charlie wholard or Adwhat or other is his name, man, now that book, the art really stinks, I can't stand the art in the book, Has kept me from buying it for the last 10 years or so.
  3. I still haven't had any motivation to watch the last 2 episodes of this past season on my DVR yet. I hate to say it but the TV show has made me lose interest in WD in general. Thinking about selling off my #1-49 because of it. #28 9.8 ? i'm just playin' Actually I just own #1-9, 19, 27, and the prison arc.
  4. what a terrible idea, they would've over-ordered the book if they were aware of pre-release cult following that this book was developing. Shut your trap and keep quiet.
  5. That's how I used to bid when I first joined Ebay, entering each bid manually.
  6. no, not really, the bidder has only 12% bids with seller and over 170 bids total, so, no, probably just new buyer.
  7. I'll just have to take your word for it. To be honest, after the tv show started I never bothered to finishing reading the walking dead, I didn't want to spoil the TV show for myself. I love the show, even more so than the comic.
  8. Welcome to the boards, we love OO collections. Stay honest and true, you should have no trouble selling your wares here. Start slow, post often, let yourself be know, and build up that reputation.
  9. is the preview edition the sketch cover, or is it something else?
  10. How many references to zombies are in the Walking Dead comic books, in the whole series, because I don't remember reading the TPBs and seeing the word zombie.
  11. and a second printing of one if that counts, if different covers, I like to count them as variants.
  12. aren't there just 3? There is an image posted earlier in the thread with the original copy and 4 variants, so at least four thus far.
  13. Surprised it's this high, considering how many dealers didn't order any. Could be like East of West. midtown owned the run. Enjoyed the first issue so much had Ribs for dinner i am so serious. Don't read Chew
  14. ...... I whiteout them and write walkers over that rubbish. Cool... send them in for CGC grading as the ultra-rare "Conan_Aficionado" variants. (thumbs u the comics suck anyway
  15. ...... I whiteout them and write walkers over that rubbish.
  16. Yeah, and if you haven't read The Walking Dead yet, SPOILER ALERT: there's zombies in it. I've never seen zombies in the walking dead. I've seen walking dead, corpses re-animated, the living dead rise, but I've never seen a zombie.
  17. Just a heads up, but the books at midtown grand central where littered with production defects. I don't know if the run is plagued by production defects but these books, most of them were *spoon*. I wished I'd look them over more carefully, but I made the mistake of just looking at the spine, edges and corners. Defects included dents and creases, some strange indentions that looked that bad press jobs, look for defects both on the front and rear cover.
  18. you guys are posting so much in this thread, you might single handedly cause a run on issues and a spike in prices.
  19. That just means that they wont downgrade for the presence of tape, but since it serves the function of sealing a tear, the tear will be considered on it's merits and thus the book will never the less be downgraded because the tear is no longer considered sealed. Either way, buying a pre-policy change taped book means you are buying a book that's over-graded.
  20. We might know to check, but there are going to be many who wont know about the change in policy and wont know to check or how to check or even to check. I forget the date already, when did the policy change again???
  21. because of this change in policy, I'm completely avoiding slabbed books with tape.
