  1. So, I should walk into midtown, and should they have a limit on the mcfarlanes, promptly grab a stack of the short printed frog variant, and be out like a bandit.
  2. Jenny Frison's so, Jenny Frison is really Summer Glau?
  3. Good luck to you guys placing orders, I hope you get what you ordered. Fortunately for me, Midtown comics is my local shop and I can be there at the 8am open, and since I don't need more than 1 or 2 copies, I should be good as long as they don't do 1 per customer. Heck, I'll just walk 20 minutes cross town from the Grand Central Midtown to the Time Square Midtown should that be the case.
  4. You gotta be *spoon* me, I had been working my way back picking up issues here and there to complete the run, only having gotten to issue 12, now it looks like I wont be able to complete an affordable run, *spoon* *spoon* *spoon*
  5. honestly, you had me at the beginning, but somewhere along the way you lost me. When a few sellers can bring their wares to market first and quickly, yeah, I can understand how a few can drive and manipulate a market. But this book has been out too long and too many slabbed copies have come to market. The few sellers that were once playing with the market have lost their influence. I just don't see how anything other than regular market forces can be driving this book beyond that initial push. You just come off as the boy who cried wolf. Nobody puts any value in what you say anymore.
  6. didnt see you come in, let alone leave. I have collected comics for about 30 years, I have sold comics once during that time, the period from Jan-Mar of 2013. Never before, never after. Now, I am not sure what your faux temper tantrum is about, and I am sure its terribly funny and all that, but my comment was refering to anything a person invests in. Economics, markets, commodities, or yes, even comic books. If you can try and make the peanut gallery laugh with some convoluted joke out of that comment. Well hey, clap on brother, clap on.
  7. man, you kidding, can't wait for the mcfarlane covers, My man (thumbs u I'm delaying my FDQ 'til after the mcfarlane cover.
  8. I've decided that I longer want to collect modern books, so I'll be having a modern book sale blowout, Saga, P.P, M.D., M.P., Think Thank, Sheltered, Revival, Bunker, Sixth Gun, FBP, EoW, Walking Dead, and every single other modern that has shown even the most remote warmth in the market that's come out in the last 2 years. P.S. Please do don't bombard me with request, wait for me to list the books in a sales thread, because some are in storage, and I might not get to them anytime soon.
  9. What's the big deal with that? The only thing I can think of is "early Dreadstar" or "First Full Dreadstar" but wouldn't Epic 1-2 be better options since EI 1/2 are officially noted online as the first app of Dreadstar? Epic #1 is the 1st appearance of his sword, #2 is 1st Vance and Epic #3 is when Vance becomes Dreadstar when he and the sword combine. Yeah, I know that, but since the Sword was actually Dreadstar, Epic 1 is noted as his first appearance in many publications. If Epic 3 had Dreadstar on the cover, it would likely change in the CGC world, but none of them seem to. Either way, it's a great series and definitely picking up steam. I just sold a raw 9.2 copy of Epic #3 for $100 USD plus shipping privately and a raw 9.4 copy just sold for over $160 USD The one on ebay that sold for $167.50? I can't believe there were 125 bids to get it there!
  10. why is the amazing spider-man GRR so hot, when did it go from being a $50 book in VF 2 years ago, to $200-400 book in VF today.
  11. I have an announcement to make, probably in the next day or two, but I plan on making my FDQ exit from moderns, and it's all thanks to CBT. *spoon* it, this is my FDQ statement, I'm out of moderns for good, going back to silvers/bronze and coppers. I can't stand the rampant speculation that goes on here. And the proverbial straw that broke the horses back is the realization that CBT is no different than the rest of the rampant speculators, "I sell enough to cover my cost," what bunch of crock. There is no difference between someone of sells for profit and someone who sells for profit until he covers his cost. As my father likes to say, *spoon*, *spoon* of a different texture. *spoon* you moderns, I should never have changed my name from burnallmabks, burn all modern age books. *spoon* you moderns. PEACE OUT!!!! BurnallMAbks.
  12. You just broke CBT's heart, good going there, he didn't need to know this.
  13. how late is this in the pre-order process and will retailers miss out on this like they did with the Ottley? Or will they have time to pre-order en masse?
  14. I would contact Sideshow bob a board member, just search a few post back and you shold find him. He's the only one I've seen with MD artwork, I don't believe I've seen any of the MD artwork for sale, ANYWHERE.
  15. I would pay $300 for that set in cgc 9.8.
  16. I insulted his dog, his kids, his wife, he was a good sport about it. The next day I felt so guilty, I just had to make it up to him, so I bought some books. Bought the Sixth Gun lot he had for $60 bucks and they were beautiful books with pressable defects, I think I might send them to joeypost for squishing and stuff if this book takes off again.
  17. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any AMC original series "hits" before Walking Dead came along, so maybe lightning strikes? Really? Mad Men, Breaking Bad. Never watched either. That's why I said "off the top of my head" Try getting your head out of your ? never watched breaking bad
  18. If you have read scalped you would know this one would make an amazing show. Read the first TPB and you will be hooked. Pretty much any good comic that doesn't have TONES of special effects/wouldn't be too expensive to make is game to get picked up, in my opinion. You gotta think what would make an awesome show/movie vs what doesn't cost a gagillion dollars and could/would REALISTICALLY be made. From what I understand, scalped would be just a normal show, budget wise (I've never read an issue though). I haven't read scalped, but if its too offensive to native Americans, it probably will have a tough time getting done.
  19. we had another ecstatic collector pick up a number one a few weeks ago at cover, needless to say, he did not remain ecstatic for too long.
  20. it's hard to tell with this euphoria in the market right know, It will be interesting when the market turns, to see which books are still holding their own. I right now any poop, I mean doop book looks like a champ, only time will tell if this uptick in the prices are sustainable.
  21. I think you are talking about Revival. We are discussing ToT (just FYI) You could just make a meme of Batman slapping Robin about it yeah, thanks, got the revival thread crossed with this one. but the same basically applies for TOT, I just picked up a 1-3 cgc 9.8 for $220
  22. I can't believe ToT is still doing as well as it is. I have passively followed it (I need one for my run, but not in a rush to get one), and despite this series falling off the radar, #1 is still doing well. Exactly. Which to me means this book isn't about speculators flipping anymore and instead is based on good stories and a fan base. It's off their radar for sure, good time to build a run if you have done so, or buy some slabs if you haven't done so, I just bought the 1/10 thompson and third eye in 9.8 for $50 bucks a piece, I think these had neared $100 earlier during the speculator craze.
