  1. That avengers 1 5.0 shattered GPA last night on eBay
  2. thanks; i was happy with the grades, and VERY happy with ow/w on all of 'em. Damn you, you posted 3 books I need in the grades I want. Good taste my friend.
  3. 8250 and I'm outa the club nice That detached bot staple keeping it down, looks way better than a 5.5
  4. I was going to go for that book too.. glad I didn't. Went to a fellow boardie/collector.
  5. Damn, Bruno pumping out nice asm always! So mad I missed your ASM 12, sitting on storms site jacked up in price.
  6. For the long run a nice eye appeal and decently grade should be safe. I just bought one out of impulse and I'm still excited haha.
  7. I can unreservedly say the answer is no, mostly because I'm pretty sure CGC doesn't downgrade for sigs below the nosebleed level, but also in this case because the book has enough pre-chips on the right side and spine ticks to never have had a shot at a 9.2. This is the first time I've seen a pre-chip that long get a 9.0...looks like the biggest one is around 3/4" long. I've got an 8.5 copy of FF #4 graded during CGC's first year that is a 9.4/9.6 except for one chip that looks extremely similar to the one on this X-Men #1...Bunky's book is the best example I've seen that it's absolutely worth resubmitting that baby for a higher grade. GREAT looking book, grats on it! cgc has increased hammering stains and decreased hammering on chipping. All old label books with chips should be resubbed IMO. That's based on everything they've been grading lately. Overall they seem a little more strict and consistent so I cannot complain.
  8. Impulse buy. Let me in!! I'm not a marvel chipping guy but I can deal with this book for some reason.
  9. Take me out of the club, let this baby go in pursuit of an AF15 or ASM 1, what ever falls to me first.
  10. Slowly but surely, have my #4 at CGC right now. Hope he does well
  11. Sarte's books were so nice that it's tough to follow and the thread has drifted to page 3. Though it's not super high grade it does look every bit like a 9.0 in person.
  12. Same boat as you with my spidey run. Purchased the 3,4,6,8,9,10 this year but I'm dreading the ASM 1 .
  13. thats a collection to be proud of. It's not always about the value.
  14. Speedy is putting together a nice collection. Always posting nice material.
  15. Mine is an ASM 13 cgc 7.5, when i was locked out of worked, got backed up on some bills and didn't want to go into the savings. I took a 100$ loss on it to boot.
  16. My Avengers 1 is somewhere in here but here's my Avengers 4 addition.
  17. Ever planning to sell this bad boy?
  18. THIS. CGC does NOT care about turnaround times. They can write messages in the forum crying about how upset they are about the wait times and what they are doing to address them. In the meantime they work their staff 10 hours days+ 6 days a week. If they cared they would fix TT's first. Yes I know all the arguments about paying graders / getting staff etc. Boo Hoo. If you like waiting a year for your books go ahead. I'm voting with my wallet and waiting until another reputable company comes to the market before I grade anything else. I'm done with this BS Lets be real, do you think CGC will let "other" pressing services yield better results than "their" pressing service? This move is to monopolize both the grading aspect of the hobby and now the restoration removal/pressing aspect of the hobby. This isn't about integrity. It's about maximizing their money. We're the fools for enabling this. THOUSANDS of dollars difference in .2 of a grade is what caused this. 8.5s pressed up to 9.2s that look exactly the same. Think my short collecting experience is coming to an end
