  1. I've heard from others that "mechanical error" was for reholdering of the junk slabs.
  2. Not trying to put words into Vintagecomics' mouth here, but I see the crux of his point (beyond just thecensus and GPA data) as being two-fold: 1) The highest price anyone has ever been willing to pay for a Hulk 1, regardless of grade , is far and away anything more than anything anyone has ever paid for an SC 4. And 2) Until someone shows a willingness to pay more for a copy of SC 4 than even the third or fourth highest graded copies of Hulk 1, Hulk 1 remains the #2 book by default. And to that , I agree. -J. So 1 person's willingness to pay the highest amount for a book by default means the book is higher in the ranks. Maybe we can talk about 9.9's/10.0 prices or variant covers and how some pay astronomical prices but that doesn't mean that Spider-man XXX is the best spiderman book in that set of books.
  3. Tougher by what means??? Hulk in 8.5 7 Copies Showcase 4 in 8.5 3 Copies Hulk in 9.0 11 copies Showcase 2 Hulk in 9.2 4 Showcase 2 Hulk in 9.4 1 Showcase 2 Hulk 1 in 9.6 0 Showcase 1 Total copies above what we have been discussing: Hulk 23 copies Showcase 10 copies So you think a book is #2 simply by 1 sale at the very top of the chart makes it number 2, rather than just about every other part of the spectrum?
  4. So hulk 1 in 4 grades "might" out sell showcase 4 in those grades. Yet showcase 4 outsells hulk in 18 grades and its number 3
  5. Your window is too small. For example, you're comparing the price of an 8.0 Showcase #4 last month to an 8.0 Hulk #1 from two years ago. I don't think you'll find a Hulk #1 8.0 for $75K anymore. It's more likely a $100K+ book now. Just like you won't find a Showcase #4 CGC 8.0 for $30K like the one I sold 3 or 4 years ago. How so? A showcase #4 has never sold over $179,000 (yes, I realize it's an old sale) while multiple Hulk #1's have sold over that amount. In lower grades, scarcity (and TV popularity) have over taken Hulk #1 but not in higher grades. At least not yet (if ever, IMO). The hulk sold for 70k in April...how is that last year? Or the 7.5 selling for 43 and 38 in May/Feb of 2016. No showcase 4 has been offered in grade that would result in that sort of value since Showcase 4 has gained such $. Hulk 1 in 5.5 sold for 15k in May Showcase 4 in 5.0 sold for 20k Hulk 1 in 3.5 sold for 9k Showcase 4 in 3.5 sold for 11k The window has been open for almost a year now and SC4 outsells hulk 1 grade for grade almost every single time. Is hulk 1 worth more in grades above 8.0? at this time neither one of us know cause no SC4 has sold. It could be. Just about every grade below 8.0 SC4 wins.
  6. Sales wise SC4 out sells Hulk 1 in low to mid grade. SC4 bounces between AF15s for sales depending on chipping, venue day etc on the AF15. Very few of any of them come to market in high grade. However believe this summer SC4 exploded price for an 8.0 and 7.5 that were much higher (84k(SC4) vs 70k (IH1) in 8.0 and 74k (SC4) vs 42k (IH1) in 7.5. AF15 is still boss imo but SC4 has outsold Hulk 1 across the board.
  7. With shipping included it cost me 12 dollars Betty and me 16 $4.50 NYX 4 $4 Shipping $3.50 Did you do ANY due diligence on shipping? How do you expect them to ship 2 comics for $3.50 INTERNATIONALLY
  8. Buying modern books in vg grade is my definition of winning
  9. You can ship a single slab via Canada post for $19 Canadian and change. Homework for you Gabe. Figure out how and report back.
  10. So here goes the story of "professionalism of AC" Fan Expo 2016. A client and good friend of ours wants to get a book signed by Stan and graded. She had a variant of Spider-Stan from a previous con (black and white sketch). She waited 2+ hrs in line to meet and get it scribbled on. Upon it being done the book was passed off to the staff of Anastasia's Collectibles. The "very professional" individual looked at it and said this looks dry and then he swiped his paw through the signature smearing it all to hell to ensure that it was dry. Clearly that was a good idea. Now in disbelief and frustration and after a heated discussion a second AC rep came over and said sorry but we don't have any copies of that book so just take this one and get it signed over instead. I got an immediate call and luckily had one copy for replacement. She was extremely upset not only did the entire issue now leave a bad taste in her mouth, the new copy will not grade as high as the previous copy as I personally took a look at both copies. Their compensation to her? None. Their apology to her was? None. The number of times in the future she or I will work with them? None.
  11. Who is KPR? He's the who just paid too much for an ASM 129 I'll pay you $644 shipped for it that way it's the same beating you gave Gabe.
  12. I think anyone reading this will see a pattern. - Easy to work with - Quick payment - Awesome
  13. Book is currently an 8.5 worth about $1000 Cost of CPR, Shipping, reslabbing etc ~$100 Final grade (you hope is a 9.2) worth about $1150 My thoughts...nope don't bother unless you need to see that silly number in the corner grow
  14. Jimmers has it right. If you have time, stock and help (having extra space means extra area to cover). $1 bins have been awesome for me. Guys love to dig and fill runs. It helps offsets costs and you can't sell $1 books online (easily or effectively).
  15. Not sure what you mean by "just those scans" normally how PGM threads are done is with 2 scans. If there was something "known" like a missing piece or coupon etc it would be mentioned. Thanks for the shot in the dark
  16. Nope its being pimped out on Kijiji Whoa, I hope he's not setting his heart on selling that book for almost $600 over GPA average GPA is 867 USD (1144.44 CDN at a $1.32)...so only asking $255.56 over gpa average (kijiji is in Canada and we deal in loonies).
  17. There was no grade or pictures to show for said bridge
  18. Don't you love how when we subbed the books it was 60 business days. Around business day 62 they changed their TAT to be 85 days and now we have to wait another 23 business days
  19. I'm going over next weekend (24th) all things going well consider a case on route shortly there after.
  20. Nope they changed it. The one nice thing about the new style is if you have a good title its often picks the right spot category for you. I agree though its a pain compared to the other way.
  21. they do but I'm not a fan of it dam...not in Canada.... Where abouts are you. I'll pick you up a case the next time I go over and get it to you
  22. I have books from 6/3, 6/6 and 6/7 all modern prescreens at SFG.
