  1. Wow. All I can say is, one man's drek is another man's treasure. -slym All I can say is you know my personality and most books people get graded are a complete waste of $. I try not to do this, but I can't find the list telling me which ones to grade and which ones to burn in the fire pit in the back yard! By the way, did you ship my book yet? Dang federal holidays slowing my comic acquisition rate down. If you collect it, it sucks. If others do it rocks.
  2. Are they a bank, school, or branch of the federal government? I'm working today, so I anticipate that CGC would probably be working too. It's only President's Day, after all. Question isn't whether or not they are working its whether or not they would count it as a "business day" They were working - a bunch of my Fast Track invoices were graded today... Including one with your Arrow Season 2.5 #4 (thumbs u Ya I had a few invoices go to "received" Oh boy Shall I pay now or you shipping out so wait for shipping price as well

  5. That never gets old. You have to put the signature smiley though. Nice Comic beat you to it Oak. JD, I didn't want to infringe on his trademark No capitals boys.
  6. Explain to me why it is going to sky rocket? Just because the board hates Sony's depiction of the Spidey movies the movies are a mega hits world wide. I don't see where a Marvel/Disney movie is going to demand a spike. Better movies maybe but has'nt the train left the station on AF 15? Maybe if some HG copies are flushed out and sell way over #s. But I'd say AF 15 keeps on climbing steady switch or no switch. Now if you told me Spidey villians might be finally done right and those should be hot I'd agree with that. I think he was speaking (typing) with a hint of sarcasm. And I would agree with you. The blue chip Spidey Villains should get a little push. 3,14,50,300 in particular. Can't rule out 4,15 & 20 either. Mmmmmorbius
  7. I like the idea of doing a "price drop" to bump your post to the top. When you get no response you delete the post and repost the exact same thing to get another bump to the top
  8. I held that book in hand after a local collector approached me with it. Everything to that book screamed issues. I would guess its a repo cover that someone damaged intentionally to "pass off" as a real deal. The person who did the back cover got it wrong which was a major tip off.
  9. Well I posted that book about 5 days before that auction ended. Its definitely a fake cover. The back cover is wrong. Go back and read the last few pages. I would return that book to the seller as soon as possible as that wasn't mentioned in the listing and this will be an inexpensive lesson to learn not to buy books that will get you in over your head

  11. This thread has a bit too much pressure in it. Anyone have contact information for the Patriots?
  12. You don't have to buy and sell one book at a time BTW, I would never try to take a book with a $4 cover price and try to flip it for $10 including shipping. -slym Sure...You're only interested in the BIG score. I take whatever the market sends my way, & have no problem with smaller sales. My bread & butter since 1988. ( I like bigger plays too, but this is what it is ) This line of discussion was specifically excluding you (see yogolak's post quoted at the top), so...cool story, bro. Absolutely Bra..... Do you have time to tell it again?
  13. I wonder how many "mystery" boxes that chest seller has...maybe I will buy them all and wait to get all drek
  14. For the same reason some folks would rather buy 10 scratch-offs than a mutual fund. Well, I’ve never bought scratch-offs but I think Jason has always abided by the rules, and the biggest aim in his sales is to both get rid of inventory while offering more attractive books per each box and have fun. So far all his customers have been happy, as most are new collectors that get a chance to read and discover new titles. Thanks! I haven't purchased a box from you, but been there when one was opened and I don't think there was any issue with how you did it. Here is the price, here is the general idea of what you get in it. Other MB sellers like the one that is clearly hinting that you have a chance at spending $50 to get a NM98 etc is exactly that. A chance at a prize worth a fair amount more than the cost of entry. Some of the other boxes could likely get shafted based on everything listed. That one is clearly a raffle.
  15. I don't recall mystery boxes being banned. I know raffles were banned. The one thread is definitely a raffle despite being called a wall of text mystery box thread.
  16. and I believe I have shelled out about as much as anyone (25K for a carded green goblin, $16K for a carded wonder woman...$60K for a kresge set, etc)... put on ebay , or sell privately, the stretch figures are a little soft right now, but given that the white boxed version is scarcer than the red box, someone will pony up for it Did you get that carded Green goblin from Mark Huckabone? Whats your SIN # and your mother's maiden name?
  17. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=8133797&fpart=1 Here is the thread from before
  18. Not that anyone likely is but I highly caution about buying this copy: http://www.ebay.com/itm/281568326970?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I looked into it and the back cover is wrong, yet there was no signs of opening the staples as the front cover also felt funny. Looks like it was intentionally damaged to make it look rough. Kudos to the seller though for listing it having CT/Pieces added.
  19. An oil rubdown or a stretch Armstrong?
  20. Service Current Turnaround Est. Turnaround Modern* 55 business days 20 business days Modern Fast Track* 15 business days 10 business days Not sure why they both putting an estimated TaT as they haven't hit it for Value, Econ or Modern for years now.
  21. . In all seriousness, which usually never am, I think Harvey did a great job. He knows I am bugging him. Hows that mystery box Swickles
