  1. Can we add rules about discussing how often the rules can be discussed?
  2. Often seldom seems to be good sellers/dealers being nominated
  3. I think there are several issues all being discussed as if they are the same thing: -Returns of a product Some sellers offer a no question return for a period of X. -Return of a product not as described Missing coupon, blatent resto -PL/HOS effective timeline How long ago does a transaction still qualify to be added to the PL/HOS list. I know some have retroactively put ppls on when they join the boards for ebay or such shenanigans.
  4. I like when it goes from verified to SFG then I know what passed and how many pennies to count out. Guess after 2 months of still received my f5 button starts to get a work out. No I don't think that at all. I just think 12 months is a little bit too shy. 14 months basically gives the buyer a few months to sub the book without having to shell out more just to have books delivered in a timely manner.
  5. I don't know what to say to this. I do not think it is fair to sellers to go beyond the year. If someone holds books for months and needs the assurance of a 3rd party for restoration then I would suggest they confirm this with the seller. I have to think that the vast majority submit books they intend to grade in a timely manner. At some point a buyer needs to assume risk. The timeline you described is a buyer trying to make their submissions the cheapest possible. At some point you get what you pay for. Oh I agree need some responsibility on both parts. I recently bought a book from a great dealer and hope to buy more from. First thing I asked about was resto and he said would cover all costs if it was. It wasn't, but wanted to make sure I had my basis covered. Mind you the book was a lot more money than Rupp's book so it was sent directly from the dealer to CGC. On the lesser value books it only makes sense to have a grouping of smaller books to keep costs as low as possible. Cheap or not, a Value/Econ sub (unless its a hot book) should not be sent fast track. With a max value of $150 on value...paying $35 + return shipping is killing any resale value (if planning to sell it) and if not why spend the extra $10 when you can grade an extra book for every 3 you planned to fast track allowing you to build up a bigger slab collection.
  6. People often state they take up to year to find 4 books to sub under the coupon tier, granted that is now gone. I still don't think giving a buyer only 2 months to get the books moving to CCS/CGC enough time to fill a sub of a few books just to ensure they are covered under the marketplace rules.
  7. You all continue to convolute two separate issues. We should not be discussing a mandatory return/refund period...that should be left to each individual seller in his/her individual sales threads. If I want to start a sales thread with an "as-is no return" policy, I should be free to do so, and you should be free to not buy the books in that thread if you don't like it. What we need to stay focused on is the PL statute of limitations discussion...i.e., how long does someone have to initiate a PL claim on a failed transaction. That's a different question, and (I thought) that's the issue that's on the table. Agreed. The simplest way I can think about it is this. Someone wants to nominate someone for the PL. First question: Did the transaction happen within a year? If yes, then carry on as usual. If no, then sorry, the time frame for nominating to the PL has expired. Given CGC TAT's a year isn't enough in my opinion. If I buy a book, it typically is 2 weeks before I get the box (it goes to a USA address that I pick up on the spare weekend, normally once a month). If I want to press it and send it to CCS that is 3 months of waiting. Now Econ Slow Track with a Pre-screen (just cause that would be the longest time) and you are looking at 5-6 months for grading. Which means I have about 2 months to find and or have enough books to send down the submission. Just my
  8. It's pretty darn close. I was surprised at how low the CC and CL SC4 in these auctions went. The 4.5 IMO presented nicer than the 5.0 (the top/bottom left corners) and it had a better PQ Surprised the gap was so close for the two books overall though.
  9. Low 20's. *totally a guess, no insider knowledge*
  10. Wow why must we all be so bloody cryptic but not at the same time. How is posting a link to the thread any different than just outting the seller. Real Elijah Snow is the one Swickles is linking to. I have no knowledge of the situation or had any transactions with, but just post the damn name.
  11. No I know what you mean. Just razzing. I mainly do MST PS. It seems to take about 3.5 months all the time now. In the fall it might be 5 days shorter... In the grand scheme of things that is nothing to brag about. Last one from Feb 16 took till yesterday, which by my count is 76 business days (not including the odd con/holiday). So just at the start of the con season. Previous was Jan 7 and took 75 business days, so no benefit there either. Previous was Nov 3 and took 83 business days, now there is a few extra holidays so no better. I wish my October/September invoices were displayed but they are cleared out for being 6 months back. Currently have one from April 13 and its STILL at received 37 business days later.
  12. Received 05/01/15 Verified 05/18/15. Scheduled for grading 05/21/15 Graded 5/26 This pre-screen is still moving quickly for some reason. On the other hand, I have a Fast Track received 5/15 that hasn't been Verified yet. this might be a stupid question, but when in the process do you actually find out which ones passed the pre-screen? Is after graded? After encapsulated? After they're shipped out? You used to be able to tell once they hit graded because under "Category" it would say "Universal" for those that passed and show a blank for those that didn't. It looks like CGC fixed this so you can't tell until they ship - I'm showing n/a across the board for all my books. Can anyone else verify this is now the case? Unless they changed it in the last month, then you can tell when it hits SFG (give it a full day to have the results posted) This has been sitting at graded for about a month (its a Value tier, with a modern in it). Ones that passed will say Modern or Universal. I have never had a prescreen with restored books so don't know if it would be posted as well. does that mean the books here I'm looking like the hulk and cap did not pass the pre-screen? or just that they haven't been screened yet? Means they did not pass. Correct those two failed. Its exciting when you happen to refresh your page for the 10th time one day and see it has switched to SFG and you can watch them pass and fail your books. I keep refreshing after 5pm hoping someone is still there burning the midnight oil and working on my books I've had late night replies to emails from CGC, if you know what I mean...."yes we can send you some sig series forms" and "your books should be mailed out any day now" About 2 weeks ago books "moved" after 7pm EST for me so not unreasonable
  13. December I say 15, June I say 17. Book has moved a lot since then

  17. Clink auctions used to run auctions with books in the exact same grade, but there would be a White page example and a non-White page example in the same auction finishing at the same time. More often than not the White page copy finished with a higher price. The entire reason they ran them together is because they knew specific buyers would target White pagers. They did this for years. Don't know if they still do. they don't any more because the inferior pq copy consignors complained, because their copies weren't realizing the same prices the better pq copies were love how you mentioned the scientific method btw!

  19. I'd probably prefer the first one, without the writing on the cover. How about this: Is it for sale
