  1. Yeah it looks like an awful game to play, but how could I pass on it for a dime?
  2. Original Doom plus the strategy guide and the Lost Levels (book w/ game). And a level creator (Level Master II). I think it was about 13 bucks for it all.
  3. Not comic books, but did find some fun stuff this afternoon. Bunch of older computer games, a few Return of the Jedi puzzles, and a bizarre Alien the board game. That one still has me perplexed. Doom, Quake, Diablo, World of Warcraft and Starcraft battle chests, etc. Good stuff.
  4. The bad apples do spoil the bunch. A shame.
  5. Nothing signifcant, but I always love finding old Dells, Harveys, Archies and whatnot. Someone had a long box about 80% full. I offered to buy the entire thing, but they wanted too much. Snagged some old ducks, Archies, Bunny, Hot Stuff and Tubby. Guess they expect to sell each one individually.
  6. Couldn't have said it better myself. That was exactly my experience as well. Thumbs up! Cameron
  7. What's the best shipping method for a small number of books (say, 1-3 or <12) that is not media mail nor an envelope of any kind?
  8. Wow. Hell of a garage sale. Were they all priced accordingly or in a dollar box kind of thing? I imagine not, but ...
  9. Doing it the old fashioned (ie best) way! Thanks for sharing. Always fun to see this type of purchase.
  10. Great haul, congrats. As a novice it'd be interesting to hear how you tracked it down and snagged it.
  11. What kind of dog though? Does tail length come into play? If we're talking a golden retriever, then sure, but what about a dog with a stumpy tail? I don't think we can put all dogs in the same bucket here.
  12. Communicates well and pays promptly. Good buyer in my experience!
  13. When I was young I got an anniversary book on Batman: It had a bunch of full color covers inside which included 244. Always a favorite of mine. Someone threw an affordable copy in the sale forum and I missed it by a minute. Biding my time!
  14. Anyone have interest in an almost complete Hero for Hire/Power Man (& Iron Fist) run? Missing about 5-7 issues of the 127 total (including annual + giant). Just about everything is F-VF or better, including #1. I'm going to be putting up a thread later this week hopefully, but am not sure if (ugh) ebay might be a better spot. Guess we'll find out!
  15. Just started my first sales thread in the Golden/Silver/Bronze Age area. Hopefully it goes ok.
  16. Thanks for this thread. I am hoping to sell some books for the first time soon and will use this advice to ensure safe delivery. I've searched on the boards a bit, but can't find anything about shipping larger lots of comics. How would you package lots of, say, 20 or 50 or even 100 books? Break it up into separate shipments? Package them as above in groups of 10 and put those in a large box with packing material?
  17. Hah, sorry, a little random. Zoom in on the photo on the wall:
  18. What else was in the collection?
  19. Glad to see you're part of the anti-fur movement. Live furs, it's the wave of the future.
  20. Pleasure to deal with Sharon. Great packaging. Books as described. And she's a peach too. What more could you ask for?
  21. Hey all, I am brand new to the board. Never stopped collecting just took a long break as the saying goes. This might be a bad place for the question, but I didn't think it was thread worthy. Couple questions about a coverless Avengers 4 and coverless in general I guess. How can you tell if it's a reprint or original? How difficult/expensive is it to get a cover separately after the fact? I imagine it can be a challenge. Also, how to value them? I am not worried about treating it as an investment, obviously, just looking for cost sensitive ways to get some classics which otherwise will be out of reach. Love the site, you all have some great stuff and I appreciate you sharing your collections and knowledge.
