  1. As a fan of this thread I say it should be open to all comers. These are less "finds in the wild" than some random garage sale purchase, but I still enjoy them and hope people keep sharing!
  2. Beast, Hawkeye and the Daredevils are sweet. Great lot. Nice pickup.
  3. Figured it was not a variant, but it was cheap so no risk.
  4. Great pickup above. The G1 stuff is pretty sick. You will certainly do well. I bought 1 comic and 1 book. Nothing impressive, but it's always fun to pick stuff up. I think that's a 30 cent variant. Took a chance. The book has obviously seen better days, but I've wanted a copy of that.
  5. Are you selling any of this? I'd certainly inquire on a few items!
  6. What about non-mainstream titles though? Superman, Batman -- absolutely. But some random obscure title that is rare, but not overly known? Or is the focus on keys?
  7. Small twist on the question just asked and may have been asked at some point as it's a big thread... You can only keep 5 items from your personal collection. You will never be allowed to sell these items and everything else is lost, so ignore value. What are they?
  8. A guy on craigslist is selling his whole collection. Everything comic related that he owns. He put up a number of ads, some focused on the comics, other posts for different items. I saw his one for posters. He'd already sold a portion -- the better portion -- of his ~70 long boxes to a local shop and most of the stuff on his list didn't interest me much plus his prices were fairly high. But we came to a deal on a few items of interest! Bowen Colossus mini Toon Tumblers - Prof X, Magneto, Ice Man, Cyclops, Beast, Angel in box; Wolverine loose And some cool posters. Not any killer deal nor any actual comics, but I'm pleased.
  9. Bought a huge lot of stuff from a collector last weekend. Included was a Vectrex. This thing is so awesome. Immediately ordered some more games from eBay and NA. Cool system. I am finally - finally - getting to playing Super Metroid for the first time. What is this next gen you speak of? But seriously, I wrapped up Portal 1& 2 which were great experiences. I am always a gen or two back, which helps the affordability!
  10. [/img] Notice how big Sivler Surfer is with broom next to it!! That would be a fortune to ship..
  11. Yeah seriously I would buy any one of these. great pieces thank you foy making some available,
  12. Only five? I only collect the games I want to play or have a tie to. This one is probably too expensive for me to hang onto. Of all the rare games this is the one I might keep because I love the show. I got a DT1 CIB in the same deal and that is a keeper.
  13. I can take a game like GTA or Elder Scrolls at times. I will get into it and pour in the hours. But I can't approach 100% by a long shot. But games like Last of Us and Uncharted? Tight, well executed, but not overly long games? Throw them my way all day long. Getting back to retro, I scored a Duck Tales 2 CIB a little while back. That was fun.
  14. Kind of a change of pace from the GTA5 talk, but I picked this up off eBay recently. I kind of hate that the guide is sealed up to be honest! I will probably open it up at some point. Game is not sealed, but plastic is only cut open at the top.
  15. Yeah, if you're up for sale/trade, then PM me too. The Final Fantasy boxed (ditto) and Super Mario 3 boxed along with those Nintendo Powers interest me. Great haul.
  16. Very true, it's all relative. Some of our budgets are smaller than others though. Just not sure I want a bound copy. It's very cool and all that, but I'd probably still feel like I didn't have the comic.
  17. Yeah, I contacted him about it and while the response basically answered my question it wasn't very expansive. It's a cool book and I'd probably pay the price right now, but agree that it'll wind up going higher and I don't think I'm up for that. Still... not going to find that book for cheap.
  18. This might be a tough question, but is there an idea of FMV for a copy of Four Color 29 that's bound? One's up for sale. I generally prefer the unbound copy and all that, but am drawn to this one. It's just the single issue bound. I have no idea what would be a good price to pay. FMV might be more than I'd want to go on it. Thoughts?
  19. Picked up a killer snes lot at a garage sale. Paid up for it too. Lots of games I needed and a few good titles to sell to subsidize the purchase. Chrono trigger, secret of mana & evermore, turtles 4, contra 3, final fantasy 2 & 3, Zelda, the console and other games. Who needs next gen when I still have these great titles to catch up on! Re the topic at hand I hate the notion of a dead after market and no sharing. I am not an Xbox guy so wasn't going to pick the one up anyway but no way of consider it now.
  20. Next time please share something unique. Those are great items. There's not much truly unique in the video game collecting sphere. Anything that is unique, well, we'd probably have to ask you to show us! I've been playing Legend of Zelda - Parallel Worlds Remodel. It's a hack of ALttP that's been out for a few years (and reworked). I have a cart with it and it's really quite good. Very difficult and no handholding whatsoever which can be a bit annoying, but great to get a fresh revisit to one of my all time favorite games.
  21. The picture quality suffers. A toaster with a replaced 72 pin and a clean game will also work every time. Top loaders are very cool though and I am sure you will enjoy it.
  22. Has anyone shopped at Timewalkgames.com before? They do repro carts -- some fan hack stuff, some translated material. Zelda Parallel Worlds Remodel is a Link to the Past fan game. Clock Tower is a SNES Japan only release. Point and click horror game. Sweet Home is a NES Japan only release. Horror RPG. They're not cheap, but I'd much rather play this type of thing on the system than an emulator. I have seen some reviews of their stuff and it seems to be quality. The games get good reviews as well.
  23. At least you're finding them and have a shot. I saw one in an antique mall. It was full of drek. Contacted the buyer. He gets tons of questions about that, but it's NFS. I picked up a map display spinner rack a few pages back and am customizing it. Not ideal, but I like how it's turning out. And, I "found" it which is more fun. I'd still rather find a real comic spinner rack, but who knows if that'll happen.
