  1. It appears Stan actually believes his own BS...keep telling yourself something enough times and you can convince yourself of anything...and jack just happened to be around...his " story " is just that...make believe and a bad one.The true marvel method is Stan editing Jack and Steve and getting double paid as writher and editor. Joan Lee was known as a big spender and put pressure on Stan to get that double paycheck......when things exploded Stan created within the company the fact he was not replaceable by taking credit for the creation...then as time went on he gave the artists some co-creation crumb to Kiribyt by saying that Jack created the SS....Stan, looking at your body language in this video....you were were not 100% convinced yourself. Neal is spot ON.
  2. Over in comics general there is a posting of the review of the stan lee Disney film by Neal Kirby his son....I hope someone can transfer that over to this thead....very interesting and we know the real story here. One other point, there is a copy from the early challengers of the unknown promo ad....which is almost the same as the top of the page of FF1.....wow very interesting if someone could post that. blown up.......comments on his opinion?
  3. If the book had been on Ha or CC...just a guess how much more would it have gotten.....would it have cracked 2 M....thoughts?
  4. I believe I went from #2 on..... 1- to address you comment...it was NEVER just about comic books, it was people first like Bruce Hamilton who had Cap#1 for sale at SDCC#2 for the large price of $250, having breakfast with the King in those early early days. We were there for the comic books, we knew a good thing early on...that comic books and art are vastly underpriced and very under appreciated that there is true real value in these timeless collectables. But as look back on it, it was the people. the collectors the different persons both in size and shape and politics that really stood out. That is what I remember the most....meeting Dawn the girl in the picture and wondering what my life would have been if we got married and yet she lived in SD and me in Sacramento ....well so be it. We collectors were a odd in way....but we really really were ahead of our time. I can honestly say, it that comic book collecting has guided me thru life to be a better person, a more understanding person in accepting people for who they are and to go back in time and really give thank how truly innocent the world was in 1972..1973 Today, you just cannot find that type of personal one on one contract with 120,000 people. The boards are a best thing to happen to help collectors today. I will say this for the current naysayers....there still is a group of people who still hang out there and it is still worthwhile to attend. I will be there at preview night and hope to say hi to a number of collectors and friends I see every year. It is different, bigger but still has a place in my heart and until they carry me out feet up...I am still going despite the high cost. Forget about the money...you can make money....memories are priceless FYI...I had very good taste in 1972 or 1973 both comics and ....well....
  5. Todays "Variety" had a review of the Stan Lee documentary by Owen Gleiberman which is coming to Disney...I would like it if I could link it dont know how...help.......very interesting review...comparing Kirby and Ditko as somewhat co-directors...I know here we have flushed out the truth, issue by issue and month by month...the real reality that Stan took at least 50% of the credit for 10% of the work. This thead or series of them are the best researched on these comic boards....what are your opinions on the review....thanks in advance
  6. this auction has something for everyone...hopefully no jacked up BP, crazy shipping charges are tacked on.....
  7. I recall in 2016/7 that a 9.4 unrestored CGC copy along with issue 1 of double action comics sold for $80,000 at CC...in that positing it was remarked that the #1 with a black and white cover was even rarer than the number 2...either way it is kind of a once in a lifetime opportunity to get one...with pedigree.
  8. It took awhile for the co-creator spin to come out of the media...this after the release phoney baloney FF 1 -script seems out of place on the outline.....my gut is was done after the book was released and a hit....your thoughts?
  9. you and me going after the same book this time?,,Double Action #2....????? or do you own one ?
  10. He considered Double Action #2 to be one of them for sure...interesting what that book is gonna go for, he has the #1 also. But I would agree with you about the AA.
  11. what would consider to be the 3 rarest GA, SA, BZ books in the collection? your thoughts?
  12. Great cover....and when you open it up...acceptable art....I like the Don Heck early monster stuff..it was a great contrast to Kirby/Ditko in those early books, but for some reason solo just does not add up to the "marvel standard" after creating great expectations and story has a lot to do with it.
  13. what would the 3 rarest GA books would be?...any opinions
  14. sold in a set of auctions...interesting to see if they see by set or by issue...some super once in a lifetime stuff there
  15. But it is factual...and that. is the point for so many years the truth has been forthcoming ......But I agree that a book by book evaluation is necessary as Stan did contribute.....so I am in support of commentary on each issue...and as we go thru these issues, the case builds stronger and stronger for PN conclusion. This is coming for a 60 year collector who bought these books off the news stand or drug store.
  16. The truth is finally coming out...as we progress, if I had to pick a year other than 1962...I would pick 1968....what a great year
