  1. I went there two, great guy...sorry he passed I think due to a auto accident.
  2. Tashen has a "flash" SALE on "the history of ec comics" on their website...it 40% off at $120....this is a great book, they also have a flash sale of Marvel Comics Library spiderman at 50% off or only $100, both excellent books with my highest recommendation
  3. It appears Tashen is having a "FLASH" sale...so far- Marvel Comics Library the Amazing Spiderman is 50% off at only $100....."The History of EC comics" is 40% off only $120....and that is a great book too...keeping my eyes out for the Frazetta book and am still waiting on Amazon to perform.
  4. It also appears on this "Flash" sale that the "history of ec comics" is also on sale at only $120.00 that is a fantastic book too!
  5. The picture of who did what and when is coming into focus. With end of the hulk/AF that appears to be a make or break moment. FF was very early on very popular so I can understand how that book carried Marvel until ASM#1.... and that really put marvel in the drivers seat...I cannot wait to see at what point ASM began to outsell FF...if ever....
  6. Found another good video, if anyone can please link the two above videos and this one....from youtube. : "Sara Frazetta talks the Frazetta Tashen Book and the Frazettaverse comics" interesting talk and frank's Grand daughter is fantastic! Amazon still a no go.
  7. Great new video unboxing with the Famous Funnies back cover on Youtube just posted, if someone can help link that it would be great...for those on the fence which edition to get please check it out by Richard Friend poster entitled "Unboxing the fantastic worlds of frank Frazetta!! Is this the greatest Frazetta book ever????? YES" its 27 1/2 minutes of pure joy with 55 comments... there is a second video just posted entitled "unboxing the fantastic worlds of frank frazetta by tashen and first reaction" which is over 55 minutes long....and 57 comments so if someone could please help linking these it would be great. My update....Amazon says still on pre-order and #1 new pre-release, Bud Plant and Cheap GN are sold out!!!!!! of the regular...Bud Plant on the special says not published yet 3-31 date....Bud, see the video, its published
  8. I know he wants to diversify his holdings and makes sense....
  9. This type of hype or dealer to dealer trading creates a artificial floor for any book, let alone A1....so it creates a real risk of substantial loss, if the the dealers pull out of the market.....and you need to resell the book at the wrong time...real risky buy!
  10. Yes, the price keeps going up in house to dealers until they find the Golden Buyer"....funny on this one....sort of a reverse shill bidding.....it worked!!!. I agree that the copy is more hype because the stamp is somewhat distracting but still a great copy......
  11. Still a no go at amazon....cheap grahpic novels has it for $159 but sold out until they get new stock.....I am surprised by the lag on amazon.
  12. Cheap graphic novels has it for $159 which is much cheaper than Amazon todayand they package excellent .. just heads up
  13. The Collectors Edition FF cover with slipcase is Fantastic and I agree on Amazon....for an extra $10 or something like that you have to wait a month get a bumped up shipping box which I feel is part of the collectors value....I agree Amazon is a waste of time for true comic art collectors, ..for the next Marvel Volume ( and FF is great) I am going with the publisher Tashen directly.
  14. I believe it is....great book, and bought it off the newsstand...what a deal
  15. still on pre-order on amazon as of today.....anyone else get one?.....For those on a budget the "fantastic paintings of Frank Frazetta" is at a super low price of $31.99 on Amazon and for that price you really cant go wrong. Quality wise I think book at that price is a giveaway...again it is only 120 pages, there is some issues with painting quality of reproduction and of course some of the information provided. Again, the Tashen is a mile above this, but for discounted price of $31.99...that is a pretty good bang for the buck. I also currently own that book too.
  16. Possibly one of the best "monster" covers tales of suspense #31, which was given to me my by Grandfather at his drug store. Still remember when and where I bought that book...in fact a number of panels ring the memory bell. That book stood out in the rack. By FF5 or at least FF7 Marvel in collectors eyes was here to stay.....
  17. I was taking about the Special Edition cover repo of FF 213....the above pic...shot from the OA is what it is....
  18. I really liked Hulk 1-3....but I could never understand the change in #6....it will be very interesting to find out your take on that as we book by book go over classic marvel history.....#1 was and still today a hard act to follow....
  19. when you have gone thru it completely ...please let us know your thoughts....that FF213 has never looked better....thank you
  20. I posted in original art about the new Frazetta Tashen 486 page massively large book which was just released by them and I am waiting for Amazon to send it to me. On the special edition , the cover is from FF213...I have to say I have never seen any reproduction and coloring nicer. If someone can link that video review of the book which was posted in OA to this posting...you will confirm with your own eyes how really great this book is!!!! You can check out some great shots of #213 on the Tashen website.. amazing book!!!! The SE is limited to 1000 copies and has a slipcase and inside different ID plate...but same book that be ordered on amazon for only $180.....
  21. Still on pre-order on amazon...it appears Tashen fills it orders first with limited edition numbers and either has Amazon hold on the release or ship them to them later.....a perk for going with them....any board member get one yet???
  22. Hulk #1 observations In 1961 a movie came out, I saw it twice as a kid called Voyage to the bottom of the sea".....It main actor and captain was Water Pidgeon.....I would bet Jack saw that very popular movie and framed General Ross after him. Page 3 panels 6 and 7 is what hooked me as as a kid, as well as the face of the gargoyle in page 23 panel 3. This is as cinematic as a comic book can ever get, cut wise on page 3...and image its impact in 1962......to a 7 year old......who collected comic books as his #1 passion ( and still is here today). A fantastic book and story/art in just 24 pages...it is material like that..which creates a impression for life...about certain images/ emotions and this book after I read it for the first. time..was put on my no trade list that first day!!!!!!
