  1. Nice book! Used to love that cartoon when I was a kid.
  2. You are a genius, I bet your'e a comic book flippin' bazillionaire by now. You should write a book.
  3. Unfortunately that is the downside of having to order non sale or return product two months in advance. You could maybe ask your retailer to add one of every Image no 1 to your pull. It's not the perfect solution but...
  4. If you cannot see genuine effort with each weeks updates you just might be... well... Ignorant. You really have an huge puffed up sense of self worth. I am not sure why some of you people stand up for this this this....... but it just amazes me. The only thing he really brings to this forum is what he sells at his store. Which could have some useful information, but it's just 1 store. Yes, it is one store. This means it is one persons' opinion. every time YOU post it is one persons' opinion. This is a chat board where people go to share their opinions with other individuals. welcome to the internet.
  5. Well, it happened with East of West as well. Image are smart enought to realise that if they have a couple of heavy hitters on a new release there is now an established pattern of the first issues at least, selling big. I'm only surprised it took them this long. This of course means that the secondary market will probably not see the kind of price rises we have seen with Saga, Tot, Revival etc. Which will no doubt cause much gnashing of teeth on here.
  6. That one you set up? No, just his Tesco Online shopping list
  7. Could you be more specific about the errors you found? My understanding was that Larry compiled information from a variety of sources including prior sales as well as how things were doing in his own store.....he then configured that into a list of things he believed in his opinion were worthy of watching or purchasing. I'm uncertain how that final opinion could be erroneous. Sort of like when we speculate here....some picks are wrong, others are right....but that hardly makes them errors of any kind. Not defending Larry, just curious what you found that was so off that it constitutes an error. Ya, to me, it seemed Lawrence's posts were more centered on what was selling at his store, with a bit of speculation thrown into the mix. And not necessarily what was getting big bucks, but more what was selling the most, or selling the quickest. (i.e. Selling tones of books at $6 per issue, or selling 30 of the same back issue in a week). Yeppers, larry made it quite clear at the start of every report that the info was based on his sales and that other retailers would likely see differing results. he was giving the benefit of his educated guesses. if you were betting your kids' college fund on his picks you are indeed a person_having_a_hard_time_understanding_my_point. I don't blame him for not posting them anymore.
  8. If that's true you can hardly blame him. Alot of mud has been slung at Larry imho. If you were on the boards during the time he was in the middle of his racist controversy, you'd understand Larry deserved some of that mud. Lately, he seems to be a positive contributor to the board and hopefully others can let bygones be bygones. After a brief break from the boards, he seems to have come back a different (more mature) person. And yet the mud continues to be slung. Go figure.
  9. I'm in both ways. I'm a little confused by ebay sales to this point. You can buy number 1 for cover from Midtown, DF, and others yet it was sold out within 30 minutes at the 3 shops here in town. They consistantly average between 6 and 7 dollars on ebay. My only concern is that enough people aren't getting to read it. Nobody that works at any of the shops I frequent got to read the first issue so word of mouth seems to be low. That being said, all numbers of the Sixth Gun had a little over 1400 completed sales on ebay for the last 3 months. East of West has over 720 sales and its only been out three and a half weeks. Word is getting out somewhere, somehow . Any thoughts on this ? It's simple really. Unusually, retailers were contacted by Diamond prior to 1 coming out and were advised to expect huge demand and order big. those that heeded that advice got plenty and therefore still have some, those that did'nt heed the advice ordered a few and quickly sold out.
  10. Wow, so looks like Luis Suarez was a total doosh today.
  11. I've given away around 50 issue #1 - 3rd prints. Got them cheap from Diamonds clearance list, done around 40 copies of the TPB off the back of that That's the way to do it.
  12. Giant spiders have been done many, many times before in the comics, but issue two made them genuinely creepy. The cave scene in particular was suitably eerie.
  13. Loved issue 1. Was a little disappointed that issue 2 was such a quick read. The whole book was really just the one action scene with very little dialogue or story development. I still love the premise and the art. Like many Image books this one might end up reading better as a collected edition.
  14. They are also plumbing new depths by attempting to punch 5ft tall wpc's in one of the clips I saw.
  15. There are Phantom variants releasing EVERY week. You should act as polite as you do in person. You're very complimentary to the program in person I hear. BUT once on the internet under the anonymous moniker: 'tommyVoltage' you start talking smack. Typical. That's weird because I got rid of all of my phantom variants because of you? Edit: And when is the last time I went to Wade's? They lost my business weeks ago. 'they lost my business weeks ago.'. Easy there Mr Trump
  16. I know, but still have no patience This might be a dumb question, but can't you order these from the FP in NYC? No. I was on the phone with them yesterday in fact (The NY store), and they claim they have nothing to do with the U.K store now. I called because my 9 copy order placed in Feb was cancelled on me, due to their "verification" email sent to me on March 27th was put into my spam folder. Soooo they cancelled my full order. I purposely set up an account, with crcd info, etc etc, to specifically order these items, and now only because I did not receive this email I get penalized. Yeah, cujo's not too happy today. Gotcha. (thumbs u
  17. Now that you are talking about it, I'm buzzed. Buying 20 copies Press Triple sig 9.9 Flip Monies. What book are we talking about again
  18. I know, but still have no patience This might be a dumb question, but can't you order these from the FP in NYC?
  19. That presents very nicely for the grade. And a great sig too. Congrats
  20. I like your avatar. He doesn't speak much does he?
  21. That was a steal if it was the eccc +1 BTW: WTH is up with all the PGX slabs....both selling and buying!? Does someone need an edumacation? I do. Not familiar with the difference (I know they are different companies obviously). I assume CGC is better, and would probably only buy CGC, but what is the low-down on PGX??? The search function exists for this kind of query.
  22. He offered his opinion on a LCS. Big deal? It's not what you say, it's how you say it. That wasn't the argument. The beef was apparently that someone said a shop was "awful". Who cares? There's this carpet shop in the UK called Carpet Right. AWFUL. I got my living room carpet from them and I reckon a monkey could have fitted it better. Loads of wrinkles up by the bay window. Is everyone offended yet? Google for their details so you can let them know what I think of their shop because they'll really care. And posting your opinion of a shop is slander*. *Obviously it isn't and not just cos slander involves the spoken word, not written. But this isn't a carpet forum. This is a comic book forum where professional comic book dealers are sometimes bad mouthed by other posters. Sometimes the criticism is fair and well argued, often it is ignorant, unfounded and malicious, and therefore unfairly damaging to someone's professional reputation. If you don't see the distinction then maybe you Are just another noob.
  23. Unless he had them listed as cgc 9.8 why would you do that? If they were actually damaged return them. If they were in sellable condition as per Diamond criteria stop whining. In contact with the seller already. I didn't realize that tears through the cover of a book and 2 inch creases running throughout the book qualified as "per Diamond shop criteria" Thanks for your concern though Which is why I made my post. Without you giving details of what the problem was your original post was pointless. You're welcome.
