  1. Since we're posting Mighty Mouse. From a recent Timely sale.

  3. Great buyer, thank you very much.
  4. One problem with Batman 227 is that if and when the market ever softens, negative spiral downward can start. Or if supply inches upwards with a softening of price, that can really hurt too. While all key and semi key Batmans will have pretty decent demand to support them, it's been argued that 227 is not necessarily an ubber key. Price justifies the classic cover and the cover justifies the price for a virtuous cycle until it stops. Unlike a Spiderman 129 or a GS Xmen 1, which are true keys for obvious reasons. And for whatever reason artists have never held up as a huge driver of books compared to 1st appearances. However, key artists tend to create classic covers and often first appearances too so that can get intermingled.
  5. Great buyer and easy overseas patron. Ed
  6. Checking out that Wizard of Oz FCcomic, is that a "first appearance" in comics or did the Classics Illustrated Jr come out first. Also, anyone know why certain Four colors are more difficult to get than others? Another question. Anyone have a list of issues that have variant back covers and would provide some commentary on why that happened and which ones are difficult to find etc. Probably a bit of proprietary info if you happen to hunting those but I'd sure like to hear opinions/info about it. Ed
  7. This image has gotten buried in the thread when I first posted it, I forgot I still had it in my photobucket and figured it could use a re-up. Just a cool item that I no longer own. From a Bud Plant catalog selling TMNT 1, pre-hype.
  8. Anyone hear from Tsimanga. Quality board member who seems to have fallen off this past week.
  9. I had a Tarzan that was the same. Looks like the Archie fan base has made a pretty good list over in the silver boards (and prices are reflecting a bit) So maybe the Dells 12c/15c will have their day too. Ed
  10. In my experience, that is the absolute toughest book to find intact, among all the Mad specials. Other tough ones include the specials with the floppy records (the early ones, like the Worst issue with the Beatles cover), the zeppelin issue, and the mobile (sculpture) issue. But the full-length Alfred issue is by far the toughest. Imagine how many kids' closet doors and dormitory walls had that poster on them. This is about the only one from the late 1960s to 1980s, all these are pretty common but some great and classic covers.
  11. Geppi had over 500,000 Harvey comics about 10 years ago and has been selling them through Heritage over the course of that time. At 200-250 comics a long box, that would break out to 2000-2500 long boxes. I don't know the date ranges or titles though, clearly the 1960s were covered.
  12. Great buyer, thank you very much.
  13. Terry Toons 50 with the key inner page prior to submission.
  14. I have a Batman 298 that isn't a Whitman variant but it does have a DC questionairre in the centerfold. Is this in every issue? Common? Uncommon? Rare? Ed
  15. How did I miss this post. Very nice set. Though hurry up and buy the ebay 9.4 from Nuffsaid. It's becoming one of those ultra sweet books that's overpriced and ruins it's appeal.
  16. Was reading an old Savage Sword of Conan 23 and it had an article about Sonja Show in Delaware from 1977. There were multiple Wendy Pini pics references and an ode to Red Sonja poem. I'm assuming she was already involved in comics and potentially trying to get into the Marvel crew. I liked the elfen features in her 1976 Sonja pinup.
  17. Looking to sign a pre nup for a Superman 5 (summer 1940). I have a full cover only. I also have coverless of Jimmy Olsen 14 Showcase 31 33 Brave Bold 43 Spiderman 42 Batman Annual 1 Flash 122 Batman 3-D (1966) Hulk 6 (missing last page too, but has the 1st and the centerfold) Captain America 100 107 108 If that helps anyone Still need a front cover for Captain America 61
  18. I could have sworn I looked. Maybe I just got distracted by the Heavy Metal Manara cover. Ed
  19. I saw these in another magazine thread and now can't find the thread. Then bought a collection recently and here they were. Pretty awesome covers.
  20. I'd go with the 10X number as being a pretty good proxy but only if you take out all the multiple submissions that CGC can't account for. Besides Hulk 181 and other common high priced books, I'd venture to say that AF 15 is a top 5 books for having multiple submissions. So of all the graded copies in the census, maybe 1/2 to 2/3 are actually currently encased?
  21. Love the key or semi key double covers. That ASM 120 is truly a nice find. Peter Parker 28 likely NM/MT Not as nice as a 27 would have been but I'll take it.
  22. Need an Action 64 interior if anyone has one.
