I'd say it's THE show for buying comics-- and I do a lot of these. A ton of the big dealers and some smaller ones with amazing Pre-Code and Gold and Silver comics, BUT, and this is a big one, you have to get there early before the dealers buy from each other. I'm talking figure out a way to help out at a booth so you can get exhibitor passes and then be on the floor Wednesday and Thursday before the show opens. Long before. If you're not so worried about deals and you just want selection, this is still a great show.
Year after year Chicago has been a great place for buying comics but expect lots of competition before the show starts. Between the dealers who set-up and the many weekend warriors with their free dealer passes.....lets just say that the sharks are circling until the chum hits the water!
We have been setting up at Chicago since the mid 90's and most years we make our goal before the show even starts. Last year the buying dealer crowd before the show seemed quite a bit less than usual but our gross at the end of the show was the best ever so no complaints....it was just weird selling more to regular customers than dealers.
Our booth will be in the same place as the last several years....booth #1201 Mark Scott Comics....looking forward to it already!

+1, such Amazing sci-fi Adventures.
I see where you went with that....
Such a great bronze age series....Black Widow, Inhumans, & the Beast have all made TV or Movie appearances....Killraven might make the best adaptation of all.....

Your area has the dumbest sellers I have ever seen. And yes I am jealous and bitter.
I thought the same thing.....That is easily $500+ worth of stuff.....but I love seeing good deals!

The Marvel Times are great. I think I bought 1 and 3 from the boards. I still need #2...
What does the Marvel Handbook look like inside? I've never seen that before.
The Marvel Handbook is basically an Index of F.F. w/a Jack Kirby interview....nothing great but still an interesting piece of Marvelmania

This weekend there was an auction that listed 400+ long boxes of copper to modern for sale.....no pics.
Usually I would jump at the chance to find some deals but it was 4 hrs from me and I wasn't too sure if the weather would get dicey so I passed....
Can't get everything.....
